  • I wouldn't use a custom stage, because custom stages generally have MUCH worse computer AI than regular stages.

  • I wouldn't use a custom stage, because custom stages generally have MUCH worse computer AI.

  • I think cpu's are dumb or are trying how your play the cheap and crappy way... I also saw someone whos cpu was next to a bomb, but he stopped moving for I think dodge timing, and so did the cpu, do cpu's move when you do it? =P

  • When I'm hanging on a edge, I jump back to the stage by falling and then jumping back most of the time.

My CPU enemys do that too.

    ...but they fail quite often!^^

  • Well I am pretty sure that the CPU learns, after a while of having the game in became really noticeable that the CPU went ape shit after the same items as me (pokeball and baseball bat). The CPU have started using the lazersword as a throwing weapon, which is what i usually do. But the most convinging evidence that CPUs learn is that I have a much harder time defeating the CPUs on one of my friends game because they just seem more skilled, and we usually play against each other on thois game

  • I swear that cpus learn. When I first got brawl and got to the point where I got to a lvl 3 cpu. I mostly played lvl 3s. When I finally got to lvl 4, the lvl 3s would be about as smart as a lvl 4, and try to finish me off in midair o_o

  • cool tests i did a test they dont attack you when you taunt unless you spam the taunt

  • Peach is blond.

  • there must be some kinda rule against torturing ur lab subjects like this D=

  • This is an amazing video. You really seem to know what you're doing. Plus, I like that you care enough to actually spell things right. Great job.

  • u know i wanna see someone train a level 1 to level 9

  • You'd be surprised. Lv ones start to put up a fight after a while.

  • very interesting! more episodes pls!! ^^

  • one of my brothers firends said that in Melee he kirby suicided so much that the CPU kirby started to do it

  • When I fight my main character with my main character, he repeatedly crouches after he kills me.... I do that...

  • I noticed that too! I was used to the computers doing a normal taunt, but after a while of playing online (I did that because my taunts had specific messages), they started doing that. I thought to myself, "Did the computer just taunt me without a taunt???" I guess it might be true.

  • oh SO THE CPU THINKS HE'S BETTER THAN ME NOW DOES HE

  • i think the only real way is to exit the game and start a new one other wise I don't thing the info gets saved.

  • I lol'd at how you treated them like lab mice.

  • arent CPUs careful when their dmg are high? For instance, why the first CF died aftr the 2nd trial

  • Peach also just doesn't have as well-suited a recovery skillset for that stage.

  • Maybe the computers also have a sort of 'IQ' programmed in, meaning that some will learn faster than others. Captain Falcon would seem quite intelligent while Peach is your typical dumb blonde.

Only joking, but that was a little thought I had watching Peach struggle.

  • computers aren't made for custom stages....

  • Really interesting video.. Not sure why it would get such bad ratings though.. 5 stars :D

    Tips though:

better quality (gamebridge or dazzle instead of using a camera)

leave the text on there long enough for people to read so they donlt have to pause it

  • You know how much that costs, right?

  • Interesting. I at first did not believe that CPU could be learning very far back into the "Do CPUs learn?" thread, but recently I have come to an understanding.

CPUs do seem to learn from trial and error, but some also seem to learn by player actions. I know for a fact the Falco CPU has learned how to camp, but the Marth CPU still insist on doing aerial Dancing Blades as an attack (failure), despite the fact that Marth has over 4000 games on my save.

  • Continued: You should get a CPU that is known for replicating actions (Falco), observing its initial behavior, then begin to go on Wi-Fi or by yourself, play Falco differently from the CPU behavior (ex: camping and then phantasm away from pressure).

see if the Falco follows a similar gameplay, as well as insisting on using certain moves more often, especially moves that it could have replicated from a playstyle.

  • mario & luigi learned from my actions. luigi fire-jump punches me all the time, mario capes me all the time & they both ledgehog! it is proof, cpus learn from your actions with a character.

  • it is nice, but tests have to be more extensive in order to really prove or disprove this

  • @jLuisao Agreed, the tests need to be more rigorous. But, at least he is testing, and not going "OMG Lvl9 H4X0RS!!1!" like most of the other on youtube would.

    See xkcd[dot]com/397

  • Interesting tests and analyses. Video quality is bad, although I'm sure you expected to hear that. I wonder what situations will be in episode 2...

  • Sorry for bad camera...
