Cheers for posting. I was at The Pod when Darrell Gwynn had his terrible crash. Sammy was supposed to be there in Vanishing Point but apparently Customs held the car up. Sammy was a true pioneer and innovator in the sport . My dad used to say they don't make cars like they used to. I would reply "that's because they were crap and kept breaking down". They don't make cars like Sammy did anymore at all. RIP big fella.

I was very lucky to see Sammy do the 386.26 mph run at Santa Pod many moons ago. Something you don't forget...

The most awesome car/projectile I have ever had the pleasure to see up at the Pod was Vanishing Point.
Sammy of course was Mr Showman himself and is still very much fondly rememberd in all those that met him and saw his runs.
What a great guy! Missed alot!
