  • looks like a better value than a big green egg

  • ........and man that brisket looked moist.

  • Good video, I love my WSM. Just one thing, I found the thermometer on the lid to be not so accurate. Got a Maverick ET-732 remote thermometer and I never looked back. Will never use the lid therm again. Happy smoking, its an awesome cooker

  • @wagzzzz ----Yah, the lid thermo was good for only a short time. I've since moved on to a Maverick.

  • Good video man camera work was awesome...might just get my weber smokey...by the way it looked really good...

  • Your lawn looks really nice... Great camera work too.

  • How do you keep the wood from catching fire.

  • @maaudiosubs ---When the smoker is enclosed, there's not enough oxygen coming into the smoker. So the wood does not catch fire. It just burns. When you use wood chips you always soak them in water for about 30 to 45 mintes to keep them from burning too fast. The large chunks of wood used in a smoker do not need to be soaked because they are too big to absorb water. But do not try that. Don't soak the the chunks, only the chips.

  • What is the name of the intro song? Great video

  • @IntrudersForever ---I do not remember. But it came from the PIrates Of the Caribbean second movie sound track.

  • Great tips! Very nice quality camera too...

  • Thanks for sharing. My weber is supposed to get here tomorrow so the tips are appreciated. I dig that your wife was so into it.

  • @movieflick --Hey thanks!! Enjoy your WSM.

  • @CountStankus - i thought it was funnt because you it did sound like you were taking a piss! if there are any children who are young enough to be offended by the word piss watching a vid about low and slow then i guess i'm sorry for them. maybe the parents should say another hail mary in church on sunday on our behalf?

i get my wsm monday, i'm doing ribs, hope i do as well as you did on your brisket. a lot less wood for me though!

    love from the UK

  • @gazebbs123 - Thanks for the comment. It's right on the money. Being that this was my first go with the WSM I did put a bit too much wood on. You live and learn! Let me know how the ribs go. I have not done ribs yet. Let me know how many pounds the rib racks are, how long they cooked and how hot you have your WSM at! Thanks!!!

  • @CountStankus hey. ribs turned out great! dry rub, then 3-2-1 method, foiled with a dash of apple juice. finished them off for the last hour with sauce. absolute fall apart off the bone stuff! kept temps constant at 250 for the full 6 hours. i didnt weigh the ribs but they must have been at least 1.5kg cut st louis style. keepin smokin countstankus!

  • Smoked Necronomicon! Awesome! Just playing.it's cool to see a fellow smoker with tikis standing guard. And who cares about piss, right? Good Video!

  • @paintedwood -----Thanks for the comment. I was going to remove the piss comment but now it will stay. Lets see if Carter92959 will give us anymore of his wisdom!!!

  • This video WAS just fine. Why did you feel the need to put in the stupid, vulgar line about the pouring water sounding like you are taking a piss? Was it really necessary to be rude, crude and vulgar? I was watching this with my two grand children. What happened to people who have a degree of decency and moral standards? Cuss all you want with your drinking buddies. Be as vulgar as you want. I don't care but for something like this keep it clean. What a jerk.

  • @Carter92959 ---Actually I do agree with you. I was going to take down the video and edit that out. Sorry I have not got around to doing that. However, you leaving a comment like you have on my video is way out of line. You telling me what I can and can't do and then calling me a jerk just turns the table back to pointing at you. You have no right to talk about my friends and post on here what you think that we do. You are way out of line. Now look at what you have started.

  • Where did you get the handles for the middle part?

  • @asyouare ---The idea for the handles I found on a video here on YouTube. Since YouTube wont let us place links in comments, I'll message you with the link. Believe me, the handles are worth buying. It is so much easier to pick up the center portion of the cooker with having the handles.

  • great job... just wanted to know if you added more charcoal or apple wood to the smoker?

  • @Matthew2086 ----I didn't have to add anything. If you fill the charcoal bowl all of the way, it will burn for about 16 to 18 hours. Whatever type of wood you use goes on at the beginning just like in my video. However, I put on 4 big pieces of apple wood. It was a little bit too much wood. The meat was a little bitter because of too much smoke. Since this video I use 2 to 3 pieces of wood. Depending on how big the pieces of wood are. The smokey flavor is so much better.

  • Use lump charcoal, it's all natural. They sell it at Sams and Costco, sometimes. It doesnt have any chemicals in it like briquettes. Just a suggestion.

  • @downdraft --Thanks for the tip.

  • Great video! can't wait to do a good 10-12 hr. smoke on mine. :)

  • Cool video man! that thing was in there for 7 hours!? that last pic of the brisket on the grill, it looked like the book of the dead from Evil Dead!

  • @tocabola ---That is what happens when you smoke meat. That black outer shell is called the "bark" like on a tree. On the inside it was fucking great! And yes, it takes a long time to smoke meats.

  • If you have time this is the only way to slow cook meat.Good Video.
