  • Incredible novel. I love how in an ironic turn Adrian is the biggest superhero and Rorschach was a rat in a maze.

  • @ramonalejandrosuare Honestly, he's my favorite character, he's the biggest hero in this film. He did what he did for the greater good. Harsh, yeah. Necessary? Yeah. Dr. Manhattan got it.

  • The movie sold Ozymandias short, IMO. He was way more badass in the comic...

  • The movie sold Ozymandias short, IMO. He was way more badass in the comic...

  • Ozymnadias or George Bush?

  • i like the scene when he was the only one who watch the weakness of Dr. Manhattan even that he is so powerful kind a like a "god" he was his's ass exiled from the earth great... the first movies where the bad guy Wins..!!!

  • @carlosz013 Evangelion the movie too

  • What is so fascinating about Ozymandias are those rare moments when he is emotional. Here is a man who murdered millions in the name of a greater good and doesn't bat one eye. Yet when his pet Bubastis is sacrificed for his temporary survival against Manhattan he manages to shed a tear. Its no that I think he's amoral or cold, he does cry when he realized he saved the Earth. But he is a really unique creature who doesn't relate to the rest of the world in a "normal" fashion.

  • @ramonalejandrosuare "I've made myself feel every death... see every innocent face I've murdered to save humanity."

  • @longbongotimee I think his obvious narcissistic personality disorder prevents him from feeling genuine empathy.

  • Dan, Laurie, and Rorschach disliked this video :)

  • If Rorschach revealed the truth it actually wouldn't have changed the new world peace. Instead of being united against fake aliens, the world would be united against the monolithic Veidt. That would be a good ending.

  • Im very dissapointed in you Adrian.

  • oh my. girls your both pretty..... pretty pathetic. Truth on the matter lies inside one's own self as long as you are human. You have one Idea and the other has one different. Whatever! Grow the hell up and realize that the differentiation in such contemplation results in a rash hammering of ideals into others. Now shut up already you babbling morons.

  • So you really thought removing Manhattan's intrinsique field again, would kill him? So much for the smartest man on the cinder.

  • what is name of the song pls?

  • @PsychoBahaS Angel - Massive Attack - Mezzanine... good old electronica/trip hop

  • he turns 71 this year. i bet he's still able to kick the Watchmen's asses.

  • "They say I'm the smartest man in the world."

  • @Phillalexandros Haha, I've the inverse of that. Rorschach is my favorite, but Ozymandias is so interesting.

  • ozymandias has the same ideology as pain from naruto iif you think about it....

  • er from what ive read this guys suit was a parody of batman and robins the movie "problems"

  • @digioverlord its a mixture of the beta Ozy suit and Robin from B&R

  • GAY POWAH

  • @oiramldx ozymandias is not gay dude....he's badass(well i know in the movie he is but i don't know about the comics)

  • @xtazy115 But Ozy is so pretty :<

    I want him!

    gay power X3

  • @oiramldx ummmm....lol,seriously?

  • @xtazy115 yummy :3

  • At First I thought Ozymandias was some sort of weak ass side kick because to me he kinda looked like one (in the movie at first) but after I saw him in action I was like Wow his definitely a Badass.

  • Ozymandias will fail in the grand scope of things. He can't change human nature. His utopia will become a dystopia.

  • People could argue for an age over whether Ozymandias was good or evil!

  • whats the music playing?

  • @nigelchitownking Something Badass

  • This looks like a trailer for a regular movie about Ozymandias.. amazing job! Besides, team Ozzy! ;)

  • I want that Costume or Nite Owls

  • I change my mind, Either Nite Owls or Rorschachs

  • Ozymandius is Lex Luthor who decided to save the world instead of conquering it. Can't you see how similar they are? Both of them are super-smart billionaires, obsessed with ancient kings (Alexander of Macedonia), in love with the sounds of their own voices. Both created crazy plans with and sacrificed millions of people to reach their goals. The only difference is that Ozymandius succeeded. And Super-Man aka Dr. Manhattan was unable to stop him.

  • "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:

Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"

  • Could I ask you to send me this video via E-mail? I am student teaching poetry and I will be covering Shelley's Ozymandias. I'd like to use this video to make a comparison between the poem and this character. The students are seniors and have most likely seen the movie so I'd like to make the connection for attention getting purposes. Please send me a PM if you are willing to e-mail me this video. Thank you so much!

  • music: angel massive attack

    great vid

  • BUBASTIS!

  • incredible movie

i think this matthew was played sensational ozymandias's character

  • I fell in love with Adrian/Ozymandias.

People say that he was pretentious: I don't think so. He saved the world, and I'm glad Dr Manhattan killed Rorschach, because Rorchach would have ruined everything.

  • @msinvincible2000 yeah but thats where the whole moral question of the book comes into it. it asks us what we think is right. it asks what we believe. would you be willing to kill thousands to save millions or do you believe that every act of "evil" should be punished.

  • @bmaclean13 Better some millions people dead than all humanity anihilated

  • @msinvincible2000 well thats your opinion and mine but rorschach and others would disagree.

  • ^-^ Veidt rules!

    plain and simple. :)

    x.x And his hair!! Gah!

    Perfection.

  • Even though I don't like the character I must admit that his a succesful genius, lol

  • squatro denen pic lan orospucocugu hasan senin anneni sikerim tamam mi lan it dogru dur yoksa anennle ilişkiye girer bir tane de pic ben dogurttururum adam akıllı dur orospucocugu seni

  • Rorschach is not a a rightist. He doesn't compromise anymore but that doesn't make him a rightist.

It's like too much democracy kill the democracy. You might be reluctant to the idea at first but then think about it...

Regarding Ozy, he's just an egocentric who thinks that he can save the world. The question is not if you can save the world but why should you?

  • @yaouank29 I like what he said Why save a world that cannot be saved? But If Ozys plan were to work then there would be peace and all is right in the world. But then again future powers might see differently and want to destroy that world.

  • Rorschach is a right-wing character. Alan Moore wrote him as one. He reads a conservative, tabloid newspaper. He's an amazingly written character, but that doesn't mean he's perfect, he has many psychological issues. He's still my favorite character, though.

Ozymandias is in a way very selfish, has an inflated ego, but everything he does he does to help others. Very pretentious.

  • I'm team Ozymandias, I think he's the best character, though Rorschach (sp?) is quite amazing in his own right.

  • Love it! Love it! Love it! Short but sweet!

  • for the love of good, google it

  • Does any of you know the name of the song that plays on the movie when Rorschach and Nite Owl goes to Ozymandias' fortress, Karnak?

  • All along the watchtower - Jimmi Hendricks

  • I agree with those who said there is too less Bubi <3 in the movie..

but I guess it all depends on the lesser importance that it's given to eugenetics in the movie compared to the comic book.. there, it made much more sense for the giant squid and all.. here the focus is the nuclear/Jon's power..

but she's so sweet.. the little kitten! I want one!

  • "Only a crisis, actual or perceived, produces a real change"... Milton Friedman

  • I know everyone wants to focus on just the outcome. But really, how many of your friends and family would you be willing to sacrifice just for the chance of attaining world peace? How about yourself? Seems Ozy had no intention of sacrificing himself for this goal. And truly, he had no REAL certain way of knowing if his plan would work or not. Humans can be unpredictable.....the US and/or USSR could have freaked out and launched their nukes anyway. Seems like a crazy gamble.

  • Ah, but Adrian is supposed to be the brightest man on the world. The point is he's supposed to know... of course, he wasn't sure he'd be able to catch the bullet, I suppose your point is more... poingnant.

And technically Adrian sacrificed Baubastis, which was the one creature (living) that he felt for (everyone can say it was just a cat, but it's very clear his character was meant to love the thing)

  • Yes, because sadistic barbarian and a ruthless criminal slayer are far more dangerous than a man who has the power and the will the kill millions of ppl at his own whim. What happens if a few months later the US and Soviets get back after it? Is he gonna destroy another 10 or 12 cities? Why not destroy all of Russia and America too while he's at it? How about all the nuclear powers? Why stop at all? Just leave a few peaceful countries and destroy the rest. Then he can appoint himself ruler

  • He is intelligent, skilful, cynical and he makes himself into history...Ozymandias, of course. I see why they based him on historical figures.

I don't want to sound like a fangirl but he is sexy. And his suit is amazing. He's truly an emperor.

  • i lold

  • Finally, someone who gets it.

  • well, those peoples' minds are too busy with either how blue Jon's dick is or how kick arse Rorschach and Comedian are.

I wonder if they will feel the same if Comedian beated their mom to death, for some pointless reason :)

  • Or Rorschach broke all your fingers to find out where you kept your beans.

And anyone who thinks Eddie was cool is a moron. He 'out-evils' Adrian by miles.

  • Rorschach? Leftist?? LOL

He was a serious right-winger dude. Look at how he deals with criminals or how he reacts to Laurie's love life or the whole idea of compromise.

  • yeah, actually I meant rightist. Sorry for the confussion :P I even learned that he was rightist from wikipedia. I just confused right and left here in my comment, boo me.

  • wait a sec.. guys, Rorschach is a RIGHTIST I meant, d'oh!! I confused left and right. boo me. If he was a leftist I would like him more ;)

  • Ozymandias FTW!! 0:42 BUBASTIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I didn't like Ozymandias because of what he done and if you seen the movie I don't think he was saving the world and you'll be shock of how he turned to the enemy's side, he wasn't really in many scenes. But it was weird that he was not the smartest man in the world, but the Dr. is. I'm not going to give all the info away, I liked him until what he done.

  • He didn't turn to the 'bad guy' side... man, you don't understand the plot at ALL.

Manhatten wasn't a man anymore, he was "a God" or a superhuman. It wouldn't be fair to compare them.

WHY ARE PEOPLE WHO WATCH THIS MOVIE SO STUPID!? READ THE FUCKING COMIC!

  • And people complain about the little plot differences like the lack of the squid, and the fact that they refer to themselves as "Watchmen" in the film, instead of "Minutemen" like in the book- Well, there you have it. The reason is that people can be dumb.

  • Oh, the 'Watchmen' thing pissed me off :P But I enjoyed the changing of the squid ending.

  • Haha in the book the Watchmen were called "The Crimebusters" because, it WAS the 1970s. It's such a small change and it would've knocked people off guard if they were called Crimebusters.

  • no they were called the watchmen. the crimebusters was the failed group that captain metropolis tried to start in the 60s

  • i love andrians pet

  • The music in this video is awesome...and sorry for sounding like a fan girl...but this man is Yummy!!

  • I SOOO agree... <3

  • Comment removed

  • Hey, does anyone know if Adrian has an accent? if so, than what is it? I would be delighted to know. Thanks a' bunch!

Oh, yeah, and smart guys rock! -_^

  • he is veary well inlightend it is not an accent he speaks with proper vindacular

there fof he soundes like hes from some beautiful future remder how pisses he got when thay called him a communist....then he broke them down....LoL

  • Cuz he's awesome like that and can kick all their asses in less than a second. LOL

Ozzy is my favorite character in Watchmen. The smart guys are always awesome! + I love the guys costume. IT'S TOO EPIC!

  • whats the song in this video?

  • The song is "Angel" by Massive Attack.

  • considering the high levels of stupidity in the United States right now (and back in 1985), i certainly don't blame Ozymandias for taking matters into his own hands. it must have been such an insult to his intelligence to see all these morons around him continually fuck up everything

and btw, whats with all this homoerotic rorschach love? the guy is a total dumbass. anyone who has lived on this planet longer than 5 years knows that seeing the world in black and white is fucking idiotic

  • Ok well you're entitled to your opinion, but calling him a total dumbass? No. He's alot more complex than that. All of the Watchmen characters are. I would go into detail about this but I won't waste your time.

  • yeah i have read watchmen (thrice actually) so I know all about rorschach's "complexities" or whatever

that being said, his view on life is fucking idiotic, just my humble opinion. Anyone who sees the world as black-and-white as he does is seriously brain dead

  • lol he wouldnt die if he chose to shot his mouth about ozzy's utopia.

  • Well, you're the one identifying and berating these characters as though they were real ppl.........so that doesn't speak very highly of your grasp on reality either.

  • well i'm only doing this as a response to all these morons out here who treat rorschach like either he's the second coming of christ, or their long awaited lover, when really he's just a dumbass who wears a fugly mask. well at least he got owned in the end

  • Well, he kinda is the comming of christ :)

  • No. That would've been a very bad thing. Dr. Manhatten understood Ozy's plan to achieve world peace, even if it is peace based on a lie. Peace = Peace.

  • No, peace through lies, murder, and deception is fascism. You can't impose peace anymore than you can raise the dead. Ozymandias was a disgusting self-righteous megalomaniac that should have been put of his misery very early. No question whatsoever that he is the true villian in every sense of the word.

  • until nuclear war breaks out and EVERYONE dies.

  • true also Rorscach should have killed ozymandias

  • no way lol.... ozymandias saves the world, hes the hero... Rorscach chooses to sate his own desires over the survival of the world.

  • @RuckusKeffufle he did it for justice which is whats right

  • @RuckusKeffufle Seriously? Ozymandias destroyed the lives of millions of people! If people found out the truth, they would still have a common enemy--Ozymandias, rather than Dr. Manhattan.

The means don't justify the ends, killing one person to save billions is wrong, let alone killing millions of people to save billions!

Still, he is a great villain, but Rorschach was the best character by far.

  • @contemplativegirl21 "killing one person to save billions is wrong" hmmm not really

  • Comment removed

  • @korictixor So, I could kill you to save billions of people? Or, maybe kill your mom?

Rather, let me guess: You would rather I kill some random Joe? Murder--be it of you, your mom, or some random Joe--is wrong. Period.

Oh, utilitarianism. It's one of the more degrading philosophies to the dignity of the human person...I wouldn't suggest you adhere to it.

  • @contemplativegirl21 What about world war 2 then, generals had to risk the lives of soldiers to defeat the evil nazis, if they were too afraid of making tough decisions then we'd have lost.

  • @contemplativegirl21

Okay, put it this way. There's a building full of 30 infected people, with a disease that could kill mankind so quickly there would be no time to find a cure. Are you saying you would rather let billions of people die instead of just 30? the same with Ozy's plan. He cared about mankind enough to know the only way to really bring peace is to kill thousands of people. And If you don't get it, whatever, the world's life isn't on your hands, thank God.

  • @WixkedLovy LOL, there is a huge difference in quarantining infected people and putting a gun to someone's head and pulling the trigger, which is more analogous to what Ozy's plan entailed. Those people he killed were not infected (and even murdering an infected person would be wrong--quarantining would be a better solution). So, it would be okay for someone to bomb your whole town, killing you, your parents, your loved ones, etc. to save others? I'm glad "the world's life isn't on your hands."

  • @contemplativegirl21

I saw a show similar to this situation were a women made everyone happy and there was complete world peace, everyone was happy. But she had to eat humans to stay her human looking, because her true form was terrifying. When she was found out there was chaos and death once again.

When the "hero" confronted her about the murders and how she was the evil one she said "I killed hundreds to saves billions"

    That was Ozy's point.

  • @RuckusKeffufle Why save an imperfect world? Is saving an imperfect world really saving the world at all? Ozymandias has the justice of a cold pragmatist, Rorschach has the justice of a pure-hearted child. The only way to save an imperfect world is to make it perfect. As impossible as that may be, it is the only way, any other solution merely leads to ever more of the same.

  • Someone missed the point.

    That is all

  • He's hot :D

  • Hahaha. That's probably the one thing everyone can agree on!

Person #1: He did the right thing!

Person #2: He did the wrong thing!

    Person #3: He's so hot!

    Person #1 &2: True...

  • ozymandias is awesome!! i didnt like bubastis in the movie though. i mean...she looked great, but she didnt DO anything. basically all she did was die.

  • lol.

  • She didnt DO anything in the book either.

  • how do you not like bubastis blasphomy

  • @sjs63 Bubastis was a She? What happened did Rorshach Gut her?

  • @sjs63 she shouldnt have died ozy killed her just to get manhattan dead but he regenerated his form anyway so it was pointless.

  • ok i might sound like an idiot but did you make these vids or did you just post them? cause i've seen all of them and they're brilliant.

  • They were NBC character exclusives that aired on TV before the movie was released.

  • Naw just kiddin

  • Are you serious?

  • what?!

  • Comment removed

  • ozy isnt really the bad guy he just lied to the rest of the watchmen so he cold save the world

  • but the world will survive

  • I love Ozymandias. Hes the perfect villian in my opioion. Usually villians are either really strong and stupied or really smart and weak. Ozy hasthe best of both worlds. He kicks ass and is smart as hell.

  • ozymandias is my fave watchmen even though he's the bad guy

  • he is my fav too, i have a poster of him over my wall

  • The man caught a freakin' bullet!!!!!

  • homie cant whoop chuck norris lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololo

  • I wish there was more Bubastis in the movie XD

And why was she blue?? That made no sense to me. :(

  • because it fitted more in the colors used on the movie

  • so a purple lynx makes more sense than a blue one?

  • Actually, she was red. And the reason I was asking the question was because I thought the movie was kept rather close to the novel, so something like changing Bubastis' color made no sense to me.

  • she was more of a violet shade of red.

well they had to change, things that in the comics look great but in live action they would look ridiculous, like for example they gave Ozymandias an armor instead of his flashy purple and yellow costume, the same with COmedians first costume it looked more like a militar overall than a clown costume, or Nite Owl costume becoming more of an armor, they would look a little too ridiculous if they were left like tighs and clown costumes.

  • I would who would win, him, versus Batman.

  • him... it's not even a question.

  • I meant to say "I wonder who would win". Typo.

  • no, i know. my bad... by "him" I meant Ozy would win. I understood ur question^^

  • So basically.

    Ozymandias > Life.

He can kick everyone;s- 'cept Jon's- asses.

Plus that bitch is hella fierce!

  • Not enough character development with Ozymandias, Silk Spectre, or Nite Owl II in the movie version. I can see how this isn't making killer numbers at the box office. Unless you've read the comic... the whole thing is very anti-climatic for a movie that is nearly 3 hours.

  • it isn't making "killer numbers at the box office" becuase people in this generation are lame. They can't enjoy a movie with substance, meaning, amazing artistic picture... bcuz they're too stupid 2 comprehend it. 3 hours wasn't long enough!

  • I know! It needed to be longer!

  • ah. finally someone who agrees with me!

  • yeah, the movie was excellent, but it had to be longer.

Fortunately they are going to make DVD with a longer cut, like 4 hours or something and they already did the PIrate tale and they are gonna mek (or already did?) the Under the Hood parts, but only House knows when the dvd is gonna came out

  • nice... I know what I'm buyingxD

  • actually i'm from generation y, i love comics and the movie and book of watchmen. i also agree that it should be longer, and that the should've made the theatrical cut the director's cut with tales of the black freighter

  • Why was he so much more powerful than the rest of the Watchmen (excluding Manhattan, obviously).

He takes on three Watchmen, and WINS.

    WTF???

  • A lot of people don't realize that being really smart can also lead to be really tough.

Simply put: if you know more, you can do more with less.

(I'm neither smart nor tough, though! :P)

  • yes Rinpoo is right. being really smart can lead to be extraordinarily strong. if u read a lot, u know what kind of exercises to do and what martial arts moves to practice in a fight. ozymandias is a very smart man, he reads a lot and he trains his body to the max.

  • Actually the only person ever to best Ozymandias, was the Comedian,in his younger days :D

  • It's definitely bcuz of his brain power. the ability to persieve action before it happens. meaning basically in a fight he's easily 2 or 3 steps ahead of his apponent, which gives him the ability 2 process every way there is to counter any type of attack. So if you already expect a move or action and have figured the way to prevent or stop it, then u seem a hell of alot stronger. I hope that even makes sense.

  • I agree; it's like when you know a person for a long time, you are sort of used to their reactions and personality.

Well that's his case with everyone he must come up against he could analyze in seconds, his perceptive capabilities must make everything so trivial... *sigh* frickin' awesome :P

  • I know... third favorite characterxD

  • I havn't seen the film yet, but in this trailer he seems incredibly cold, wheras in the novel he is charismatic and charming, even at the end.

  • Does anyone know what's the title of this music ? T.Y. .

  • Angel - Massive Attack

  • Thank you very much !!! :-D

  • He is GOD

  • Oh My FUCKING GOD!

    BUBASTIS!!!!

I love Ozy, but BUBASTIS... i would spend my entire life just to create that creature.

I Goddamn love Ozymandias for creating it. but he did kill it...Motherfucker....

but unrelated, i love how they redid Ozy for the movie. in the comic he was like a gay patrick warburton pimp from the 70s. in the movie he was a smokin' hot genius with an awesome costume. the only thing that killed it was that it had nipples on it...

  • the nipples were actually a parody of schumakers Batman and Robin.

  • 0:34 - Was in my opinion, the most chilling scene from 'Watchmen.' It was simple, elegant, but incredibly powerful.

  • i agree, quite passionate
