omg! i went to see that! he is absolutely amazing as caliban, he brings a whole new concept to the character as a slave - not a monster. the tempest has a lot of remeniscence of the apartheid.
you are GREAT JOHN KANI..actually watched the play in the birmingham rep theater and you were amazing...ROSIE MOTENE AND MOTSHABI were great too....you got the power..you inspire me and a lot....

Im seeing John Kani in The Tempest on the 18th,im really excited.
He is an amazing man.
Im also writing an essay on The Island at the moment.
