What many people dont understand is that macs recover from the BBOD (beach ball of death) and unfreeze pretty much all the time. The worst that happens with the BBOD is the program you are using crashes. The entire OS of mac almost never crashes, unlike windows with its BSOD.
BSOD is when your computer overheats. Macs overheat also but they don't shut off. I've seen my friend's Mac go up to 200 degrees farenheit without shutting down.
@KantraScepter Overheating isn't the only thing that causes a BSOD. Kernel panics, some break in code, to many processes at once can all freeze up a computer. and yeah, my mac mini has gotten up to around 180 degrees Fahrenheit :P didn't crash though
@KantraScepter My Windows 7 computer runs at 100% CPU useage all day (Pentium Dual Core - 2.8Ghz) and that never shuts down, it doesnt even bother too turn up the fans, witch is odd xD
but, it still never turns off, it just slows the processor, then freezes the programs for a while, then 5 mins later will lag up for ages, untill you give it a rest :D

that was called 'Plugging in a USB while watching youtube, while running a server with 10 people on it, on a Pentium Dual Core', it didnt go down well xD

it does it to me a lot i can use the computer without rebooting it but happens a lot i reinstalled my applications and that helped but i still see them and i have had the computer for less than 6 months. I got a mac so i wouldn't have to deal with this crap
