Your studio is gravy... Gotta set your midi keyboard in front of your monitors though... Or at least set the monitors towards you when you're playing some music.
are studio speakers really necessary? i have a laptop and have it connected to a panasonic mini stereo system and it sounds good, especially when i play low bass notes the sub that it comes with plays em really clear n loud.
You are gonna want to use Logic Studio, cause it is an industry standard in itself when you buy Pro Tools it is not industry standard until you get Pro Tools HD and to do that you need to spend about $10,000 for the equipment for it to work so go with Logic until you start working in a professional recording studio then they will probably have Pro Tools there
aye bra any programs you need protools wat ever man i got'em don spend no 600 fo that shis i got memory for sell all that you can get a hole pack 4 500 man hit me up on my page
Hey man I've just bought s mac and i use an mpk49 and reason. How do I get the external controls 2 work on the mpk? Ever since I've switched To mac they've stoped working
The mixer comes with either Pro-Tools M-Powered or Cubase LE, depending what deal Guitar Center gives you. But if you search different DAW Software on Software downloading forums, you can find Pro-Tools M-Powered and download it from there. However, Logic Pro is worth saving for, and knowing that you're a hip hop producer, Logic Pro is a must nowadays.
hey man i was wondering if you could help me. im running logic pro 9 with an m audio fast track and i was wondering what i had to set the input/outputs to to get the mix to have vocals and music coming out of both speakers. i know im noob for not knowing how but its really frustrating.
Thanks, the dogs name is Lesslie, it's my sisters... But I'm not sure what your asking, well, as far as vocals you need to make sure if your using a Condenser mic, make sure Phantom Power is on. I need more info about what your hooking your speakers/monitors up to. Plus, I'll be continuing both the Setting Up Your Own Home Studio and FreeStyle series tomorrow, so be sure to check out both videos tomorrow. :-)
yo why dont u just get propellerhead record since u use reason. mine is coming in 2mrw n i thnk its almost on par with pro tool and will cost alot cheaper.
Well, you'll probably need at least 2 MIDI Cables, Buy at least 2 XLR Cables, and also look into RCA cables, sometimes you'll need them. But it all depends on the music equipment that you purchase/have so if you can give me more info, I will be able to give you better info on what to buy.
If you're asking whether or not it has the sounds, no it does not have the sounds that an MPC does, but with Reason 4, I've gotten my MPK49 to act pretty much like an MPC5000. If you want good sounds, I suggest you go out and buy the Yahama MM6 Keyboard, it has all the sounds that the Yahama Motif sythesizer has.
Also, there's nothing stopping you from finding a torrent or something to download all the sounds that come stock with the MPC series. Thats exactly what I did, found a bunch of torrents with MPC series sounds, then found Korg Tritan sounds, Yamaha Motif Sounds, and lastly Roland Phantom Sounds. So yeah, I got a lot of sounds that professionals have. I highly suggest finding out about torrents to download good sounds and samples. Even VST's you can find on torrents.
Event 20/20 Bi-amped are the best monitors ever friggin made. I get better mixes on them than most studios who using Genelecs at $4000. The old school grey ones are the best.. I think they go for $700 per.. lesser versions go for $300ish per. Spend the extra and be done with it. I've been using Events in my studios since 1999!
yo homie pro tools m powered should be going for $250. Logic Studio is $500 but you get most of the tools needed in the Logic "Express" Version which is only $200. As far as the mixer, save up your money and get the M-Audio Projectmix. It's a control surface which works GREAT with pro tools and with logic as well. For monitors the bx5a will break if you blast them. Going with a 6" would b better as 8" sometimes puts out too much bass (for monitoring) or even 6.75 is better.
If u can get bak to me that Wud b great I'm trying to start my music production I just need a few pointers from expierence

I'm more familiar with Pro Tools than Record, so I'm getting it anyway; plus, its industry standard.
