Behavior modification is how all people learn realar. Those who fail to learn need behavior modification with a focus and highly trained professionals, but they benefit from it.
Anyone, who can learn to talk, but doesn't because no one taught them did not benefit from others optimally.
Why can't anyone accept an autistic person's differences and go on with their life! Instead of this behavior modification nonsense. Oh and tell Fizikal14 that autistic people have friends, have a place in this world, and are not DEFORMED!!!!
can someone on this line about autism form a completed thought in an oral sentence please!!? Form a complete thought, form a sentence about that thought, speak the sentence. old adage-think before you speak applies. streaming conscienceness is of no use here.
What you need to know is that the Surgeon General has stated the only scientifically proven intervention for autism is ABA or behavior modification. You are correct that aversives have been removed from most programs that are behavioral, but not all. To reinforce is to strengthen a behavior and so other treatments that work are because they condition (a behavioral principle).
A three year old can respond to five simultaneous stimulus to gain five reinforcers. A child with a deficient intelligence or MR can handle two simultaneous stimulus to gain two reinforcers. A child with autism can only handle one stimulus for one reinforcer without intervention. This was the topography of autism in the 60s and 70s.
Again, like I tried to post on your channel but was obviously unable to because you've disabled comments on there or something; complete, fantasized bullshit. Confidence-tricksters like you should die.
No, I'm insinuating that autism in the past was a disabling disability and that behaviorism was able to take those children and make them indistinguishable. This is true by historical research in those who were severely autistic. I don't know anything about you and insinuated nothing about you.
My family did not talk without intensive intervention and now they are very typical.
I made myself indistinguishable with practically no help; yet to this day I question my ASD diagnosis... I really doubt I have it. I just have great confidence in the fact the person who diagnosed me was a quack. Of course, she was recently arrested for forging medical documents. Can I denounce my dianosis as fraud?
When I was 4, my IQ was considered untestable and estimated in the severe retardation range. Taking my first test at 16, for MENSA, I managed to get accepted (by a margin) BUT...
Read "Meaningful Differences in the Everyday Lives of American Children" & find out what sets UR IQ.
2 of my nephews would not have talked at all w/o an intensive behavior modification program. 1 learned 2 talk only when spoken 2 at 6 yrs old, then went through a time when all he did was request, & finally he can say things at 12 like "Were not kids anymore."
Each of these stages required specific programming though as he would not have progressed through them by maturation.
I reject their offer on the basis of previous arrogance on their behalf that I've been told by countless others has been typically historical of this organisation's members. I refuse to be part of a puritan community of pseudointellectuals. To this day, I disreguard intelligence testing as rubbish, and alot of psychiatry as rubbish too.
It is in the Autism spectrium, but is concidered a lesser form of it. I am not sure why children 3+ are automatically diagnosid with this.
Some children need to "feel" them selves. My nephew is 5 and has autism, sometimes when he needs to re-group hiself you have to "hug" him, and kinda squeeze his arms and legs. Many autistic children are one way or the other.
Those who are born with it, I'm not for sure, but I would say that it can be detected early. For those with autism due to the enviroment It is harder to detect early. The signs then are a delay in motor skills, speech, etc. But it is a little later. Children with autism need to be diagnosed before they are three to get a "true" diagnosis. After the age of three they automatically diagnosis a child with PDD NOS. Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified.
Well, you see all the things that bring about a autism diagnosis are behaviors and thus they get the behaviors due to conditioning in the environment. But obviously someone without autism can do the same behavior (most often those who are disabled as well). Why do they learn these behaviors and are not reinforced for imitating typical people? The answer is stimulus overselectivity. Look up Lovaas and those two words.
Autism is thought to be a cause on one of two things. Either hereditary (where parents carry like a recessive trait for it) And environmental, where they think that the environment and/or immunizations play a key roll. Many also think that metals in the environment and such play a key role in Autism.
Oh yay, thanks for the reply! That was so awesome, 'no kiki!'. I think autism and ADHD are quiet interesting in that there is debate on whether they are actually disorders or not (like homosexuality, for example).
I guess it is Conduct Disorder or Oppositional Defiant Disorder that is prevalent among people who are grown who have Anti-Social Personality disorder. However, it doesn't mean that if someone is diagnosed in youth that they will become ASPD. Thanks LucyShy! :)
Now I am different than most autistic kids for I love touch, change is copeable depending on the situation, I'm not much of a savant though trivia is easy for me.
Thanks Kristen. That was so nice of you to bring my quirk to light, oh btw I was genetic and there has been cases of autism by chemical growing in the womb. We missed you!!
Realar, I didn't know you had autism! Do you have Asperger's or something? You are very high functioning it seems. Please don't take that as an insult...I hate the words high functioning too, but oh well. Anyway, I never would have guessed.
I don't hate the words high-functioning, I'm not sure if I have Asberger's or not, it says I'm near not autistic, which makes me capable of so much things and still be able to socialize, thanks Kristen.

Think to help and do it or get out of the way.

So you're insinuating that I'm retarded?
Great.

IQ merely relates to rate of learning it's what you learn & then do with it that matters.
