that was the end of her life...that sd40-2 started her life on the c&o back in 1967 and died on the csx in 2011.....its sad...

I live about 8 miles from where this happened. I knew that the engineer and the conductor had lost their lives, but I had no idea the collision had been that violent. So sad, thoughts and prayers to friends and family.

A train was just stopped I think there still investigating it. The other train came around the corner and plowed on the back of it catching it on fire. The stopped train was not at a station just stopped on the tracks

What actually happened was one train was stopped at the station and another train came right up behind it and crashed into it.
