david letterman and his crew no longer put out shows like this anymore because they are much too content now with the way things ARE so they dont try anymore like they did on this show.

That is very true but also because he got a second opportunity at life with the bypass surgery and has become a father and therefore doesn't need to impress anyone anymore. His legacy is already secured and you can see he loves doing the show but he also loves to have time to spend living his life. The show was his life and now it's only half. God bless him. I truly hope he never retires.
