I think the apples/bananas for Craig is the army helmet for Allen. It's "Craig's thing" If you will. Just like Allen's 'thing' is the army helmet.

That's how I see it anyway. Of course if he had an apple or banana on the first episode, then my theory should be accurate. Haha love them!
