Women among the Mexica and Tecpaneca were considered equals of men under the law, but still couldn't be priests. The Acolhua had laws that prohibited women from doing certain things, but other than that they were pretty much equals. There are no documents from prehispanic, conquest era, or colonial times to support evidence of female priests. There were temple attendants who cooked and cleaned for the priests and had a few priest like duties, but they weren't priestesses.
