I just bought mine at michaels....they r not with the jewelry materials, but the brand that I bought was called something like bowtique and they were hanging at the end of an aisle on clips.
When I use an alligator clip, I pinch it open and slide in a piece of wax paper then close it back up...the wax paper won't stick to the glue and it won't ooze through to the other side. I also don't have to worry about getting burned trying to hold it open while gluing.
if you line the alligator clip first you don't have to worry about glue going through the hole. Plus it makes the bow look more professional. Also, if you wait to attach the center knot after the bow is glued to the clip, you can use that ribbon to wrap around the clip (or barette) making it more secure.
Lastly, a high temp gun tends to hold better than a low temp (although I prefer low temp so I don't burn myself as much)
The finished bow you have there is beautiful, i seen all your videos on how to make all the parts, is there anyway you can show me how to put that type of bow together? Thanx
Thanks for the tips you give in the videos, It definitely would be great if you do a video on how to stack each piece your using on that particular hair bow,I'm having a bit of a problem with that part :)
i've made tons of hairbows, using hot glue in my experience is way better then the fabric glue. The fabric glue doesn't hold as long as hot glue, the bows fall apart a lot quicker and come off the clips easier
and to think I paid $35 for instructions that I could not follow...BUT these are SUPER FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!! and so easy the instructions are! ThAnK YoU!
First off I wanna THANK YOU so much for doing these videos!! I was wondering if you could show us how you made those bows you are using? I would love to know!! Thanks again! Mommy of 2 lil girls
I have tried to hot glue before and after a while the bow will come off of the clip. I find if you wrap the middle ribbon around the clip and hot glue that works great - or you can use E6000 and let it sit for 24 hours and that seems to work better - for me anyway. I love all your videos! Thanks for all the great information.
Hot glue doesnt hold my alligator clips. Is that because I have a mini glue gun and not the regular sized? It's a hi-temp

I prefer the alligator clips with teeth. I feel they have a better grip on my hair and stay put longer :)

@LexaRican: Probably not, because that won't stick to the clip

I agree with blondie24691...plus it dries alot quicker and you can assemble the whole bow instead of clamping and waiting for each piece to dry.

Be careful with the E6000 I use it with my mixed media arts but will not use it on my daughter's hairbows because of the carcinogens it has in it.
