Best controller I have ever owned and also the best software and factory library a have ever purchased! And I have alot of stuff. Now with the 1.6 along with the Komplete bundle and your au vst plug ins, it is just an incredibly powerful package. N.I. knocked this out of the park!

@readygo242 I think it's just the lighting. It must be pretty bright as the pads are fully lit and you can see the LED. Don't trip about colors though, the listeners won't know! lol

I sold it on craigslist after I decided I didn't like it. The new buyer was not able to register it because YOU CANNOT TRANSFER THE LICENCE. So now I'm supposed to be stuck with it. the jamming sounds relay bad but the finished piece they play is pretty damn good to say they had no manual and have spent what 2 weeks getting know the maschine and all the sounds are coming from it ...
I checked this out in person and liked it, especially the software integration aspect. One drawback that comes to mind, though, is the unit's hard trigger pads. They felt like plastic to me. It might just depend on what the player is triggering/sequencing (hard pads might work for triggering loops and things in Ableton, etc.), but I think it could only benefit from more MPC-like, soft rubber pads.
@TR0jAX ya respect to mpc but sorry mpc is a thing of the past. you first have endless amounts of sounds (your whole library me_100 gigs of sounds at my fingertips sorry bud times have changed you will see respect to the MPC though
you can build a internal Harddisk inside the MPC also. And the most important thing is your MPC runs tight ! I had the machine , and i was disapointed because it didnt run tight as my mpc. Just my 2 cents
@TR0jAX -with respect, it depends on the speed of your computer and a few other key things that matter in order to make a accurate comparison. Now, the fact that you CAN upgrade & exceed the MPC in processing speed & connection options,storage capacity,Plug in Availability,etc.. Speaks to the comparison as well...PEACE!!
Yes, there hardware is basically a midi controller, and you don't neeeeed it, but the software is still great, the hardware is just custommade to the software, which makes it more preferable than any other midicontroller.
Hi ! Does this system work a bit like ableton Live ? Like a pattern sequencer ? In other words, is there still a point buying Live when you have Maschine ?
I haven't played much with Ableton Live (though I'm going to soon), but based on the little I've seen and done with it, I guess you can compare the two. Depending on how many other softsynths you have that can be used as VSTs etc, I guess Live would perhaps be a better choice, as it's more "expandable" (you can use other wav-samples in Maschine or create lines with other softsynths and use them, the wavs, in Maschine, but it isn't too convenient I guess). Sorry for a long "your choice"-answer :P
Also, one thing I forgot, which people should know: Maschine is only able to be controlled by the Maschine controller, not other controllers, but since the controller is a part of what you buy that shouldn't be a problem (but for those who want to use a piano roll to setup scenechanges etc, it sucks).

That all in one system looks cooland user friendly but maybe I don't need it since I have many vst instruments keyboard synths and a knobs controller. I started with reaktor and absynth and upgraded to komplete - that's a lot of softs. A live upgrade will be cheaper. And the Novation launchpad looks cool too.
Absynth (especially the newest generation, Absynth 5) and Reaktor 5 are my favourite softsynths, and with all the joys of other Komplete packages (I vow to NI myself, although I use other ones such as Spectratronics and EWQL), I would recommend Live more for a "groove production tool", as it can, as far as I know, host VSTs and the alike (Maschine can't do it directly as far as I know).
I look at all the negative comments, and few people realize just how powerful this thing really is, not only can you create in this, but you can sample as well. Don't knock it till you have tried it, I have fun with it!!!!!

people can cry about the mpc or mv 8800 compared to this but at the end of the day it's what works best for the individual.some people bitch about fl studio but i've heard some bangin shit from 9th wonder and other people on youtube. some people still use the sp-1200 or the sp12 some people use the sp-404 or sp-606, it's whatever works for you
@mnlkthms i had and mpc 1000 and 2500 then got a maschine it soes the same thing mpc does just way better its hardware and software before i had to track and sync wit the mpc to protools and that sucked wit maschine i can click and drag my audio from maschine to protools and sample etc

Personally I think working with a computer vs hardware is better as you can do a lot more but some people will disagree with me as the MPC is a pretty classic bit of hardware especially for Hip Hop

you can build a internal Harddisk inside the MPC also. And the most important thing is your MPC runs tight ! I had the machine , and i was disapointed because it didnt run tight as my mpc. Just my 2 cents

@TR0jAX -with respect, it depends on the speed of your computer and a few other key things that matter in order to make a accurate comparison. Now, the fact that you CAN upgrade & exceed the MPC in processing speed & connection options,storage capacity,Plug in Availability,etc.. Speaks to the comparison as well...PEACE!!

Yes, there hardware is basically a midi controller, and you don't neeeeed it, but the software is still great, the hardware is just custommade to the software, which makes it more preferable than any other midicontroller.

I haven't played much with Ableton Live (though I'm going to soon), but based on the little I've seen and done with it, I guess you can compare the two. Depending on how many other softsynths you have that can be used as VSTs etc, I guess Live would perhaps be a better choice, as it's more "expandable" (you can use other wav-samples in Maschine or create lines with other softsynths and use them, the wavs, in Maschine, but it isn't too convenient I guess). Sorry for a long "your choice"-answer :P

Also, one thing I forgot, which people should know: Maschine is only able to be controlled by the Maschine controller, not other controllers, but since the controller is a part of what you buy that shouldn't be a problem (but for those who want to use a piano roll to setup scenechanges etc, it sucks).

That all in one system looks cooland user friendly but maybe I don't need it since I have many vst instruments keyboard synths and a knobs controller. I started with reaktor and absynth and upgraded to komplete - that's a lot of softs. A live upgrade will be cheaper. And the Novation launchpad looks cool too.

Absynth (especially the newest generation, Absynth 5) and Reaktor 5 are my favourite softsynths, and with all the joys of other Komplete packages (I vow to NI myself, although I use other ones such as Spectratronics and EWQL), I would recommend Live more for a "groove production tool", as it can, as far as I know, host VSTs and the alike (Maschine can't do it directly as far as I know).

everybody's poppin shit about maschine,yet i don't think the point of the demo was to produce a song, i'm guessing it was to show how the fucker works.
people can cry about the mpc or mv 8800 compared to this but at the end of the day it's what works best for the individual.some people bitch about fl studio but i've heard some bangin shit from 9th wonder and other people on youtube. some people still use the sp-1200 or the sp12 some people use the sp-404 or sp-606, it's whatever works for you

@mnlkthms i had and mpc 1000 and 2500 then got a maschine it soes the same thing mpc does just way better its hardware and software before i had to track and sync wit the mpc to protools and that sucked wit maschine i can click and drag my audio from maschine to protools and sample etc

WOW,. I agree 100% Horrible DEMO,, I own MASCHINE and they did it NOOO Justice at all. Glad I didnt depend on this demo to buy one, i wonder how many sells were lost because of this demo.. They were better off going to the "Project" browser and using a pre-recorded song, LAME..

this works with your computer but MPC's are oldskool hardware samplers, they're totally different you can't really compare the two
Personally I think working with a computer vs hardware is better as you can do a lot more but some people will disagree with me as the MPC is a pretty classic bit of hardware especially for Hip Hop

yeh dude what im basically trying to ask is what is better about the two,... its easy to answer. i just dont know anything about the workings of this or an mpc, however i understand the concept behind both and i understand what would determine the better, its just i need abit of backing up on certaint hings.... most ppl are going around here talking about the build of the machine? well i personally disagree with all that so far, i think the machine build is actualyl very very poor.
