I may be a new comer to the woman's MMA world, but from watching Tara fight (in a few videos on youtube) and seeing Gina Carano fight (on youtube) it seems Carano is in a different class (skill-wise). Her punches look tighter and stronger, she seems more athletic - definitely more Muy Tai-ish. Tara seems really agressive and strong, but to me seems more girl-ish in her movements. Gina seems a dude in her athletic prowess - maybe a little slower, but very smooth in her movements.

Tara only uses standup as a means of eventually getting her opponent to the ground which is where she is most dangerous. Gina certainly has better striking skills but may be in trouble with Tara on the mat.

I think you're right in this respect. Gina is adept at strikes, feet and hands. It's her strength. She's rather inept, relatively speaking, at grappling. Tara is a judo expert. Her ground skills are exceptional and superior to Gina's. But, Tara's striking skills are woefully inferior to Gina's.

That was a very good fight with great submission defense from LaRosa and unusually for a woman's fight an even matchup.

There have been combat sports in human culture for thousands of years, better get used to it, it's part of who we are. I am guessing you are not a woman but I'll let them know that they need to clear any unlady-like activities they have planned with you before proceeding.

In the UK we would refer to someone like you as a "total knob".
