Depends on what operating system and mother board you have. New i7 processors with Windows 32Bit will only run 4 gig 3 dedicated to system and 1 to graphics. 64 bit system will run with the P55 motherboard 16G of ram and with the X58 motherboard will run 24Gig of ram.

I've never senn the real use of AA when you play with a resolution of 720p (1280/720) and bigger. There is so much pixels so even if you don't put the AA the differnce isn't big. I play with a 1280/1024 screen and when I play my games in this resolutions I don't see the aliasing. SoI don't put this on to stay at 60FPS and more in every games because AA eats so much of power of each graphic card on the market.

Get the Athlon 7750 and 2 2gb sticks would be better. That plus 4850 would play any game even Crysis on high but I prefer to run that game at 1280x1024 because I like getting 40+fps but you get about 30 at 1680x1050 with that setup.

Go ahead with Vista. Make sure it is the 64 bit SP1.

Its AM2+. I don't think it will work with the AM2 socket. The Athlon 6000 is another good one that will work with AM2.

I bought a ASUS EAH4850 TOP (overclocked), i can easily run Crysis on High (i don't want to play on very high) 2xAA, Resulution 1680x1050. My CPU is fast as well (Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0Ghz. :D

4850 is far more superior than 9800GT that it's not really a fair competitor unless you mean 9800GTX+ which is the cloest competitor for the 4850. In that case 4850 is better though the GTX+ does outperform it in a few titles. Do some research if you still ain't sure.

well, as i said (somewhere, i guess), i played COD4 on highest settings on vista, with e6550, x1950pro and 2gb800mhz. it ran smoothly. also, i recently played Crysis:Warhead on above average settings with the same specs: still smooth. so i dont mind losing a few fps, especially if i dont notice it, and i get the comfort of vista in return.
