..You should have stayed the distance you were in the beginning of the video. The snake didn't see you as a threat & was actively trying to swallow the frog by moving it's teeth forward. I have also accidentally scared a snake into releasing it's prey while trying to get a photo. I learned my lesson & am more careful now. Ignore the people calling you names. Learn from your experience & become a better steward of nature. Having a pond is very beneficial to wildlife trying to survive in the city.

Snakes are very vulnerable when they are swallowing prey. They can't move away as well and they can't bite in defense. So when disturbed by a larger animal (you) while trying to swallow the frog, he actively tries to regurgitate it using his muscles to push it out and also by pulling back his teeth (4:16) that were hooked into the frog keeping it in. Its hard enough for the snake to keep the frog in its mouth in the first place on dry land. Now let's add the stress of a potential predator (the idiot cameraman) looming over its head. Then let's keep pestering it until its forced into the water, which lubricates the surface of the frog, making it slimy and and much harder to grip.

@Michasaur Hey Guy...In case you haven't noticed we are a part of nature too. The camera man was no more interfering with nature than the snake was interfering the 'natural life-cycle' of the frog. Besides, it's his pond. If he (your 'idiot'/'asshole' camera man) hadn't put that pond there, the snake probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to snatch this particular frog for a meal (loosing it or not). BTW, the surprise ending is not that the frog escapes, but that he escapes via another frog

while on dry the frog kept fulling his body with air, which made it harder to be swallowed in the water the full mouthed snake could not breath while the frog kept on breathing, the frog was in its natural element (as the snake wasn't water snake)

I used to own two snakes. Many snakes feel very vulnerable while they are feeding. If they feel threatened while swallowing prey, they will likely regurgitate it.
