  • when u are so fat that you have to use a mobility scooter for no other reason than the fact that u are so goddam fat then time is right to stop shovelling food into your piehole.

  • The wife, Pam, seems to be a large part of the problem in my opinion. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt...

  • "My mum had problems, iv got the weight problems. we're going to have to start doing something about it or we're going to have problems" - This is from a 600 pound woman sitting on her mobility scooter. Yeah lady, your going to begin to start having problems soon, yes.. soon.

  • I'm glad to see that Bill's boy is making healthy decisions..

  • Thanks for uploading this. That was good. :)

  • Thank you for posting this series. I've fought my weight my whole life (I went on my first diet at age 10), and these videos provide a lot of encouragement.

  • I find the name Dr. Eaton very appropriate for an obesity-treating physician. 'Cause its got the words "eat" and "ton" in the name.

  • I was 280 lbs 2 years ago and know I'm 163 lbs....My diet was simple: RUN AND LIFT weight every fucking day...Take me 9 months...I also avoid bred, pasta, chocolate bars....I eat at brakefeast and lunch but I skip dinner...I try to stick to 2000 cal a day...Lot of vegetables and almost no meat except fish...

  • u lifted weights everyday?

  • @gurreras hey you copied my diet...

  • @gurreras ]

nice work :) This is kind of what I am doing, I can't run because of knees and personally I think running hurts more than it helps but I am doing an hour a day Non-stop on my stationary bike, ive cut all junk food pop, chips and chocolate bars and sticking to 2500 calories a day (down from 5000 a day)

  • I wouldn't be surprised if Bills son Chad developed a reverse addiction and became anorexic.

He's got the history, the fear, and the willpower.

  • omg.. look at his legs, he must be in so much pain..

  • There should be places like this in nearly the whole world

  • Did that bill guy die????????

  • its awesome that the son is making healthy choices! im really happy they didnt ruin their sons life too!

  • "Bill can now get out of bed without a crane"...Im sorry but that's one of the funniest statements I've ever heard

  • I've been there to see someone having to have a super-sized hoyer lift lift them into and out of bed, and all of the other humilitating things that must be done for someone in this shape.

There is really nothing funny about it.

  • It's not funny, well kinda funny seeing Joesph's bitch titties, but I'm not obligated to feel sorry for any of them. Just like I shouldn't feel sorry for any other addict who can't practice self-control or recognize when they need help.

  • No one's asking for pity, or sympathy. Only understanding. That's all. Not that difficult really.

If anyone feels the need to ridicule another person, particularly someone who is so ill, it might serve them better to figure out what is so wrong with themselves that they have to focus on someone else's problems rather than deal with there own.

PLEASE note, the second paragraph isn't directed at you, but is a general statement.

  • I'm not making fun, but I'll state the obvious and not feel bad about it. I have even less compassion for the multiple visitors (shown in later shows) who just don't exhibit an ounce of self-control.

  • An aside and a sad one at that, at the end of this episode it was revealed that Bill had died. I feel sorry for is son and wife, the poor guy was making good progress

  • how can people sit and eat fst food all the time that's diguisting.

  • They are addicts. The same way that someone sits and gambles all day, watches porn all day, drinks all day or does drugs all day.

    Addicts are addicts.

  • I concur because food is a drug if you don't eat accordingly.

  • juleigh - i was reading that it's very easy to slowly stretch a lap banded/gastric bypass stomach with overeating. look at carnie wilson and all those peeps, they gain weight back. if someone won't stop overeating to save their life, they won't do it because of surgery.

  • Thank you for posting the interesting videos. And no apologies necessary; you can hear and see the show, even if it's a little bit wonky. It's the thought that counts. :)

  • I find it hard to understand why the hospital does not lapband these people as soon as they have lost a bit of weight, either that or gastric surgery. At least then they will be unable to eat large quantities of food

  • everyone doesn't want the surgery or are not able to have it due to health/money reasons

  • Well I could understand the money reasons, but as for health, these people are going to die from the problem they have. Anything that can help is worth it. I am waiting on lapband surgery myself (not that I'm as big as these people) because I really don't want to end up in the same position as these people. It is common knowledge among most dietary experts that people this big do not keep the weight off from these diets and that surgery is often the only answer

  • Because that doesn't actually stop them. It will slow them down for awhile, but if they keep trying to eat a lot their stomach will just re-expand. Surgery is only a temporary fix. And doing something that might kill them for a temporary fix just doesn't make sense.

  • "Learning from their sins." ??? That doesn't just scream bias and prejudice. Man, if someone refered to a drug addict like Britany Spears as a sinner, there would be an uproar about insensitivity towards addiction, but it's ok to say whatever you want about the obese.

  • Yeah..."learning from their errors" would have been a better way to say that.

  • It's revolting how people actually eat so much that disable themselves - how thick do they have to be? It's revolting. Pam (the wife) is rank and so unsupportive - she is surley the one that makes the food so she is responsible. DISGUSTING!

  • I'm sorry that you didn't actually listen to the program. These people have an addiction to food. That means that they do not react the same way that a non-addicted person would.

If you are no longer hungry you stop eating. If you just want a lot of something that you like you stop eating when you're full.

A person who is addicted to food does not eat because they are hungry. They eat to make themselves feel less of something. Pain, fear, lonliness etc. They react to food the same way

  • that a drug addict reacts to their drug of choice or an alcoholic reacts to alcohol.

In the same way that few drug addicts or alcoholics want to become addicted and suffer the horrible health and emotional problems associated with their addictions, super-morbidly obese people don't enjoy it either.

But addiction is addiction no matter what the substance. And all addiction is difficult to even begin to aknowledge much less control.

  • there's nothing glamorous about obesity, that's for sure.
