Would be nice if they went to the top of the cell at some point. Don't understand why they won't do that any more since they've done equally or more dangerous stunts recently in matches such as MITB or the Hardy/Punk TLC match. Personally the blood thing doesn't bother me though, it looked fake anyway (and yes I know it was real blood but it was always the same coming down from the forehead which didn't usually make much sense in context).

I think the reason why they don't go to the top anymore is because with the new restructured HIC the cage is huge and if someone fell off from there, it could potentially kill them.

No dude, I meant the Gamecube Hell in a Cells were better, ie; WrestleMania X8, XIX and Day of Reckoning 1 and 2. The Hell in a Cell was actually scaled correctly and had 4 breakaway spots on the roof and when you fell through the roof, you ACTUALLY fell through the roof. Plus you could destroy the walls of the cell and do an aerial attck from the roof down to the ring and other shit there.

The only thing about Wrestlemania X8 that was even remotely fun was the table physics. Tables didn't have their own animations, and so you could do the same table spots that you saw in those classic TLC matches between the Hardies, the Dudleys, and E&C, just with only four wrestlers, not six.

Taker/Edge was a great match, but something was missing which I think was blood. It seemed just like a regular no holds barred/no DQ match with a cage happening to be around the ring. For HIAC to seem truly brutal I'd think blood would do it.

i'm going to the PPV. i've always wanted to see a HIAC match live so i'm not complaining that i gonna get to see 3, but this PPV kills the HIAC concept for me. cena/orton, its ok but it should be HHH/orton in the cell to end the mcmahon family storyline. DX/Legacy, eh. taker/punk, its only their 2nd match so no. PG or not at least 1 definitely needs blood or the whole point of HIAC gets killed even more. no way out i'm on the fence about 2 ECs, but this & TLC soon - enough with the themed PPVs!

People forget that Undertaker/Edge was one of the greatest cell matches, and that was a month after WWE went PG. There was blood in that, though they were bloodied the hard way and not through a blading.

the way the hell in a cell ppv is going to be sucessful is if the hell in the cell matches are booked creatively and have some spots that haven't been seen before. the problem is there is only so many things you spots you can come up with in a hell in a cell match. these ppv themes now are starting to remind of wcw in 2001 when started changing the names of the ppvs. they already sent a survey asking the fans their thoughts on a elimination chamber ppv

TSlay, I would remind you that last year's Hell in a Cell between Undertaker and Edge featured no blood. In your review of the SummerSlam 2008 show, you rated it ****3/4, saying it nearly topped Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels as your best match of the year. So just because there might not be blood doesn't automatically mean "bad match", especially judging from your reviews in the past.

EVERY Hell in the Cell has been nothing but a bloody beat down with the 2 wrestlers absolutely annihilating each other. yes it wasn't ALL about the blood but the blood did definitely help the "Hell in the Cell" live up to its name.

I hate overgimmicking a PPV just for the sake of doing it. The best way to sell a PPV is with strong storylines involving compelling characters. By doing a PPV with all Cage Matches (TNA I'm looking at you), all Submission, all Extreme Rules, or HIACs, you are basically telling me that you aren't creative.

I didn't enjoy that match at all, and I don't think having blood would have helped it any. HIAC kinda feels stale now. I mean, I keep waiting for the next Foley moment, but when nothing close to that happens, the match feels like a let down.
