  • Don't know if you saw top gear this week but there's a website called howmanyleft.co.uk. You can find out how many of any type of car is still registered in the UK. You have a real rare thing there!

  • Love this video the car the music.

  • Love Crocketts theme being played! Lovely car, would like to get one but finding one is a right job.

  • Love the 'bird

  • sweet looking car . . . . even the 1.8 couldn't pull the socks off a dead man though. Notoriously under powered/under engineered.

  • I have one of thesse with twin-spark ca18et anyone know how to get info e.g wirind diagrams etc?

  • @samthesr20man I've got one too 86 1.6 LX, personally I use a Nissan BlueBird 'Haynes' Manual, that has everything.

  • i hav a 1988 nissan bluebird 1.8slx petrol.. lovely car

  • I'll try and find out for you for sure Jack. Next April is the 25th anniversary of the first car coming off the production line in Sunderland and I will be going back there for a ceremony of some sort or another. Good luck with the car - I had two of them and clocked up nearly 200K miles (and no problems whatsoever).

  • Sorry just one rider to the comment below. If your interior light is circular rather than square/rectangle then it was built in the Oppama factory in Japan and was shipped to the UK as launch stock before the Sunerland factory was up and running to supply Europe (but most of those were C reg).

  • @JohninRosc

Hey, thanks for the comment. As far as I know my car was one of those built in Japan, though it's very hard to know for sure :) One thing I find odd about the car is the SR badge - it seems they made a few with that and then switched to ZX, of which there were thousands. That's awesome that you worked at the factory :)

  • @jackj0nes songname?

  • @JohninRosc Anybody want a brand new 3 part clutch for one of these contact me you can have it for buttons and postage.

    Wayne......................

  • Sorry, just one rider to the comment I made yesterday. If the interior light in the centre of the roof is circular rather than square/rectangular, then it was one of the small amount of launch stock shipped from the Oppama factory in Japan until Sunderland was up and running to supply Europe (but most of those were C reg). I'm not a geek I promise, this is just something I know something about and I want to tell the world!!

  • Do you know your bluebird was one of the very first to be made in the Sunderland factory? I know as I worked there at the inception and the blacked out centre strip on the bumper soon gave way to a full painted bumper.

  • i love this video so much

  • i was born in 95. i should like bugatti veyrons and piagani zondas ans such, but for some bizarre reason i love these three box cars, especially the nissan bluebird. the trouble is, insurance will be 4,500 pounds per year when i learn to drive! argh!

  • @moglove109 Hi, I'm 17 at the moment and I might be getting a 1988 1.6 LS bluebird and I'v found insurance for £2548 so you don't need to worry too much mate. :)

  • @caspaanddoritos 2500 pounds is TOOOOOO MUUUUCH!

  • @moglove109 True but thats almost as cheap as it gets unless you want to be seen in a KA.

btw Try "I-Kube" insurance they can cut the price by 40%-ish.

  • nissan bluebirds are very reliable cars! My dad still has his 1.6 bluebird which he bought new in 1990. Never broken down or failed to start over the years. It's been a good car.
