Just because the standard of metal got faster and heavier since the early 80's when Metallica and Slayer were just starting to emerge does not mean that everything before is now suddenly hardrock. And this song is a 1984 song, 2 years after you claim they became metal. British Steel is very much a metal album, listen to Rabid Fire and Metal Gods if you have doubts. Ozzy, Wasp, Priest, Maiden, AC/DC, etc are all metal, just not Thrash.

Sabbath influenced Doom Metal but weren't considered Doom Metal until Candlemass named the genre with Epicus Doomicus Metallicus. Before Thrash everything was either Heavy Metal or Speed Metal. What was considered Hard rock was AreoSmith, Van Halen, Kiss, and Kiss started to go metal in the 80's.

Priest became a Metal band on British Steel. Even Scott Ian said British Steel is the first metal album to do away with the blues. And Metal comes from the blues. COC, Motorhead, Sabbath, Trouble, DOWN, are all blues based bands. Know your shit.
