  • I'm about to play some video games on my "Lobotomized Retarded Cockroach". That is of course once my "Lobotomized Retarded Cockroach" finishes telling me about Michio Kaku's Speeches on Physics.

  • WORLD RECORD: BIGGEST WIND TURBINE

    Visit: windturbinecarriedbywheels.weebly.com

ZERO-NOISE from gears and generators since they are sealed underground.

SAVES THE BIRDS AND BATS since slow-moving.

DOES NOT NEED TO OCCUPY A WIDER LANDSCAPE since the turbine can be very tall.

MAY BE LOWER-COST since it may use timber and other cheaper things.

ELUDES HURRICANE FORCE since the blades automatically close.

    NO FIRE since well-cooled.

HELPS THE WIND ENERGY COMPANIES since it is FREE FOR ALL.

  • When Dr. Kaku said "retarded cockroach," all became clear.

  • Nice

  • The human brain is much more powerful than 500 teraflops. Maybe it runs at the same speed , but it doesen't use 0s and 1s , but rather millions of possible combinations on a signle unit of information , thus multiplying the force by a crazy amount...

  • lol I want a Quantum computer imagen gaming on that, stuff alien ware computers i want my quantum computer.

  • why is it that most people idolize rappers and movie stars? while most people waste away listening to the latest from lil wayne and kesha, i choose to expand my knowledge to the best of my ability. michio kaku is awesome. kids should have posters of him on their walls. not 50 cent

  • i fast forwarded this video and he sounds like a robot o_0

  • if CIA would use quantum computers to encrypt then that would be a different stroy....

  • It is very clear that Michio Kaku is not a computer scientist. The speed of the hardware is not nearly as important as the algorithms that run on it. Damn physicists think they have the answer to everything and they take advantage of the fact that most people know nothing. Stick to your physics. And for those who are interested, check out some of the work done by Jeff Hawkins.

  • Your one of my favorite to watch on science channel, i just asked myself WHY...and i see ET or EDWARD TELLER...thats when i knew

  • Michio!

Quatum Computers: by the year 2027.

How can a Scientist be excited about something that does not exist, yet?!

Oh! The snake oil salesmen have to create a market for it.

You know: science makes tap water acidic to create an EVERLASTING market for skin lotion. Allergen forming verses Non-Allergen Lotion (Oh! Boy! Two Markets for the Price of One!!!!)

    So, by 2027, they'll have:

Quantam Computer #1 (verses) Quantum Computer #2 (Virus Free)

    You know: Witch Doctor Shit

  • @ClockNumerology is it A.I. or Artificial Insemination

  • Comment removed

  • from 2001? explains the old box tv lol. so uhh.. well.. 10 years to go.

  • If it was true that you can not emulate a biological mind or brain then these robots woundn't even have the intelligence of a retarded cockroach, or anything really. Unless you are saying the human mind is somehow "special" or different from the rest of the animal kingdom even though it just a possibly more complex iteration on basic cerebular design that we share with dolphins, though both lobes of their brain are relatively independent.

  • Does anyone else think he looks like jimmy page?

  • You cannot duplicate a biological mind with a machine.

I'm sorry, believe it if you want, It's impossible....

  • @IceAges14Aces What makes you think it's impossible. Is it because a biological mind consists of some mysterious force? It's only connections of matter that sends information (and everything in a sense is information, so it is information that sends information). This can most definitely be reproduced with other kinds of matter.

  • by the time the Al exist, probably the truth potential of human brain would be unlocked, remember that we don't even use 10% of the brain truth potential according to some nuts scientist, but what about after we unlock truth brain potential and with the help of quantum computers, we start building or upgrading human brain with far more capacities and increase the sense capabilities, and why not, we would add some extra senses, even counciousnes would change, super computers is not the goal

  • @Mezcal2008 This is similar to overclocking a computer. Our body just doesn't generate enough power input to run the brain at 100%

  • @Mezcal2008 It's just a myth that we use 10% of our brains. It's not a matter of quantity, but of how the brain is wired. That's the reason one person is smarter than another, her brain is wired differently (and this wiring is continuously changed with every kind of interaction, so if you watch stupid TV every day, your brains connections will mimic that stupidity).

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • So perceptual schematic will become consciousness, difference engine becomes the search for the truth, personality simulation becomes the bitter mote of the soul and all that because of the "ghosts in the machines" an actual random segments of code grouped together to form unexpected protocols highly unanticipated free radical that endanger the question of free will, creativity, and even the nature of what we might call the soul. And all of this in 100 years...cool but I'd say 35 to 50 ;)

  • Kaku claims 50 years for human processing speed in computers - Kursweil claims 2 i.e. 2013 - something's amiss here... In fact 50 years equals THE ENTIRE POPULATION of the planet in processing power for $1000 by some reckonings...

    'Shift Happen's 2010' on youtube

  • We need to freeze this guy right now

  • We just channeled predictions on TECHNOLOGY-Oct.22.11-Technology Disconnect... in our CR News Reports©

  • when did they have this conversation? it seems like a few years since michio still has some black hairs left =P

  • short,small eyes=genius lol JK

  • in my country ( don wanna mention the name ) %50 of the people believe that the earth is not round. they believe its flat and its on the top of HUGE cows and fishes. when ever the " cows" and "fishes" shake their heads earthquaks occure. no jokes. how sad is that !

  • Michio at it again p0rning another "best seller" lol.. :)~ Personally & from experience working in this field, the threat that strong AI machines will rise up to rule humanity is erroneous for the simple fact it would need to simulate a 'will' to be evil, something that only corrupt programmer could do, not the machine. Computational machines of any kind are static in nature and are and will be only capable of accepting software to "simulate" dynamics, ie; thought, action, predictions, etc..

  • @netsight Thank you. I can never grasp why people are so paranoid about "human-like AI" which might take over and demand equal rights. I don't think that will ever happen. Humans are biological organisms with billions of years of evolutionary history while robots are machines with senses who "mimic" human behavior. I don't think they are even as smart as a retarded cockroach simply because they have no natural survival instincts.

  • @Omnicron777 The will be too smart for that. Once robots do exist and are as smart as us. We will probley program them to do the research that we used to create them and have them use that research on creating more advanced robots. Which will probley take 1 week for them to create an upgrade version of themselves which will probley take 100 years for us to come up with. So the moment we create robots. New technologys will be created so fast that it will keep doubleing and doubleing every day.

  • A retarded cockroach hahahaha xD

  • AI is already here... In video games!

  • I fucking love this guy!

  • check out the TVs they use on "techTV"

  • @sharkwater8913 Well the christian and muslin and Jewish god has already been disproven. You can't disprove a deist god though. You never can really. But I understand your point.

  • waoh this was 2007, 16 years to go

  • @greatwhitenorth112

the video was posted in 2007 but the show aired in 2001

  • @raygew thanks for the update

  • jaja en azu

  • organic would be better given time

  • @MrYendor1968 really?

  • I like the way Michio explains science and technology.

  • Ai was a hit you moron, this guy is a retard, ignore him and pay attention to just what Michio Kaku is saying :P

  • @MrNoknownidentity This "guy" is not a moron; that's Leo Laporte, the greatest tech reporter ever.

  • So this means that 2001: A Space Odessy was WAY ahead of its time via HAL 9000.

  • I would prefer a biological upgrade, eagle sharp vision, able to see in the dark, infrared vision, all natural, extra memory for my brain, brain processor upgraded to 5x, able to live extra 300 years, that technology would exist some day, maybe my great grand son would live 300 years or more, too bad that with this technology I would be here just around another 25 years if I"m lucky.

  • weve sped up the process with the IBM - SyNAPSE chip. it computes with the archeture of the brain!! Check it out!

  • ppl wonder how will Artifical intelligent machines work? well if there smarter than us we might have 2 wait till they can tell us, ironically we may not findout how they work until they are created and can tell us themselves.

  • 6:04 that laugh is gold!

  • The name sure is right, this guy preaches some aritificial intelligence alright.

  • Michio is the man.

  • Is there really a difference between A.I. and human intelligence? The human brain is basically a computer that uses synapses and nerves to process information. I love Michio Kaku, he really makes me think.

  • I love him

  • but then couldnt quantum computers make new codes for the cia?

  • @spatanx170 IT IS? do you have proof of this?

  • @spatanx170 this video is probably film 10 years ago.

  • If you asked him these questions today he would have very different answers

  • Only one problem, if they would become smarter than us then they would simply find a safe way to remove the control chips without being seen. I actually try to find a material which cand hold everything in the brain and I would try to make robotic body. A true AI exists with 2 things comon sense and the capacity to learn. It think that he tries to protect those that would use robots with consciousness as slaves. Like USA (greedy warmongers) as EU and Russia are more diplomatic now.

  • jackie chan + stephen hawking = michio kaku

  • N O M A G I C A L S O U L I N S I D E ?

  • Not a great hit? What is he stupid?

  • YouTube scientists gotta love em...too bad they don't produce peer reviewed work.

  • @datascatter May be because the equivalence of what the human brain is capable of can be achieved with a computer not less powerful than that.

  • Morality cores?

  • In 50 years from now, I'll be 76, waterskiing, I'll have memory implants, I'll drive my flying car to work, with my quantum computer. Yeah, I won't retire early!

  • So does that mean I have to throw away my favorite Toshiba after the Silicon is gone? Can't we take some from our girlfriends' breast implants?

  • i used to like this guy, however he started railing against the condition at los alamos saying "the're doomed they dont put their plutonium in the right place" which is not true

  • The goal of artificial intelligence is the elimination of obsolescence. Placing a chip that turns artificial intelligence off, for any reason, would be counter productive to the evolution of AI. What makes human beings think that an AI’s pursuit of

knowledge would be in the best interests of human beings? The greatest threat to intelligence is the human intellect as we have the ability to destroy the planet right now.

  • The man asking the questions is very annoying

  • I don't think you need quantum computing to equal the processing power of a human brain. All you need is a human brain which is made of 3 pounds of properly arranged protein and fat.

  • @KJLesnick

By the way I should note that I'm opposed to creating some kind of "human brain simulation" like the Blue Brain project in Switzerland because creating a copy of a human brain is tantamount to creating a human brain.

Humans are conscious not because of some kind of soul, but because of the way our brain works. If you produce an exact copy of it, it will be conscious too. Forget about what you've been told in religion.

  • Hey it the Screensavers! I miss those tech tv g4 days!

  • no limps, no control over any network, no danger.

  • A.I. are better suited for space travels.

  • "100.... THOUSAND YEARS!!!!"

  • I thought "retard" was a politically incorrect term?

  • make them ai's smart as fuck but with no legs or arms, what can they do if they get mad? call us names? and they will be smart as fuck so they can invent things we couldnt even think about but they wont have mobility to kill us... BAM!

  • He keeps saying shit about Atoms but nothing bout Exactly What it does!

my fucking calculator on this "retarded cockroach" can tell me what 3x5 is as soon as i push calculate! the reason it moves slow on mars is because you built it that way.

  • Search YouTube: Transcendent Man

  • Actually, its not going to take 50 years. They already have CPUs that compute like a cat brain, its just a matter of time before they get to the human level

  • @Baronstone A cats brain is alot faster then any computer today. No computer has any sense of logic, self awareness or understanding of what it is observing, it only acts on programming and serious of complex command system desinged by humans. A cat has understandings of theese things and is farly self aware, it can learn from interaction with its enviroment. Their nervous system is more advanced then any silicon based computer could ever become due to theese factors.

  • I believe exactly this human fear of robots will lead to them dreaming of taking over. It's sort of a self fulfilling prophecy.

  • i just had a vision a original thought: a miracle, the outer is the source not the inner just trust me factor that in for everything it all makes sense. think about it. think the original is always gods matrix and we look out see siloquets and stars help us see things outer. think the universe like a hologram a human would look out and be blinded by the outer wall and quote unqoute god is the matrix creature

  • Thank you for your hard work Michio. These issues need to be considered very carefully to ensure a successful future for planet Earth. Stay positive. Check out @ParticleION for more Strong AI videos

  • Some creatures like us did not evolve big sharp teeth, so it was more necessary for us to get more aware of our surroundings( get more intelligent) then it was for mister crocodile. The point is when you get more aware there comes the point where you stop thinking about food and start thinking about thinking and ask yourself stuff like "why the fuck am I here" I think self awareness just comes standard with a certain degree of intelligence. Hope you can just switch it off in those AI's though

  • @dthebeast Im not an evolutionary biologist but just a simpleton, so this is just my opinion/observation.

Personally i think that the more social an animal the potential for the species will have to become sentient.

Great Apes, Dolphins, Elephants, Even the dog/wolves has been shown to have superior intelligence over other animals. Social Skills = more thought processes

  • some people commenting here seem to be convinced that intelligence is something so extremely special and divine and that only humans have it. BUT when I talk about for example a lion figuring out the best way to come up to his pray before starting to run for it, people all of a sudden are very quick to just call it "instinct" but where does it stop being instinct and start being "intelligence" ? Is it self awareness ? well that has been proven in dolphins and all of the great apes

  • @dthebeast thats not intelligence that is something it was born with. learned behavior is intelligence.

apes can figure out to get a stick and wait until ants climb on it then eat it off. that is intelligence.

stalking prey is something in its dna it was born with that knowledge.

  • retarded cockroach

    06:00

  • Humanity will destroy itself before those things be accomplished. In the end everything is about survival.

  • Why the search for 'artificial intelligence'? We already have it. Check out Hollywood and the Democratic Party.

  • I am a computer programmer.

Bewarned Michio Kaku is only an actor.

True Intelligence (slagged as AI) that is capable of creation on its own plane of existence not leaching from it's creator('s) is impossible. This man uses the technological advancements of computers as "evidence" that the creation of True Intelligence as inevitable. There are several dots here people and none of them connect to each other.

  • @TheTrueJBV3737 You are being stupid, are you saying that we will never be able to create computers capable of learning?

  • @mehico33 you watched to terminator to many times man, yes computers will never be able to learn on their own. if you know something anything about computer languages and actually knew how computers worked you would know this. Listening to this guy does not better your understanding, you only think he does. go to collage mate. learn something, invent something with your brain, the brain no other being can replicate.

  • @TheTrueJBV3737 Computers are not able to learn on their own CURRENTLY. It would require too much man-power to write enough lines of code to make a computer operate at our level. Computers require you to define EVERYTHING. The computer would need to know how to define things for itself. For instance, how many pebbles does it take before a pile becomes a mound? The answer is, we don't know. The computer would need some way of quantifying that. The computer needs to know how to handle it itself

  • @Kiwibird Computers run on a definite binary system, all they are is mathematics, they can only do what the author codes them to do, we as humans do not run on a definite system, the 'answer' for us can include a 'maybe' or a 'I don't know'. A computer it has to be true, false, or nil, we ourselves do not know how we function, so how could we as authors create something above ourselves in knowing itself? It goes against basic logic. True Intelligence is created by a creator with all intellect.

  • @TheTrueJBV3737 I dont claim to know anything about computer language but one thing I do know is that you can never say never, as long as nothing comes along and wipes us out there is no concievable limit to what these human brains can achieve

  • @TheTrueJBV3737 You are a Computer programmer. That however does not make you a scientist or an engineer. You merely write the code, prey tell me what credentials do you possess in quantum physics, for instance..

  • @kashmirismeimkashmir so the people that create Artificial Intelligence via SOFTWARE would be quantum physicists and not computer programmers? You truly have no idea what you are talking about; especially when you say "You merely write the code", computers r useless until software implementation.

Bottomline, computers have only and will only be capable of what their authors' have coded for them. And Intelligence is indefinite, math is definite therefore the 2 cant connect. Authors cant code it.

  • @TheTrueJBV3737 Sorry man, you're behind the curve. A year or so back, they already made a program capable of deriving ohm's law from collected experimental data. Concurrently there are a few teams who are looking into chips arranged in the style of a human brain based on current neuroscience. For an example, google hp-moves-closer-to-brain-like-computing.

  • @taybh1

How intelligent would you say that the program that could derive ohm's law from collected data would be? Furthermore, what exactly is google hp and how is it brain like in computing?

  • I wonder if in 100 years from now, future generations would have extra senses, maybe would have a global network using only brain power to read and communicate with other humans or machines, it would be really nasty if someone would hack on your brain.

  • The internet is evolving faster than humans are. It won't be long before we are all put into the service of this self aware, man made, super consciousness. Just as long ago the wolf evolved the ability to domesticate man with the wag of its tail, then only to put us to work serving its needs. Google will soon demand the love and attention once only reserved for Fido. I for one have already purchased a flee collar for my laptop.

  • I want that guy to be my physics teacher

  • @MEGANNGORE come to City College of New York! :)

  • @MEGANNGORE come to City College :)

  • YaY

  • so funny that this genius has no sympathy for retards

  • @pakk82 Retardation is not a bad thing, it's just what it is. Just cause he called the cockroach retarded doesn't mean he's looking down on it, he's just simply stating that it would be mentally slower.

  • @Julietteisme Im reffering to his little statement where he says "doesnt this rebot remind you of your uncle?" or something like that.

  • @pakk82 He said "does it", as in the robot is so incredibly stupid that even the dumbest humans are far more intelligent

  • the one thing that gets to me about ai as a programmer is well programming it. it still neededs coders to get it start , it would need millions of lines of code just to get it started, and at the rate it takes people to programm at the moment that will take ages not just due to the amount of code need but the complexity , there cant be an error ONE single error would make all its interrigence usless. i dont see it coming soon if im honest but then again i could be very very wrong

  • M. Kaku is the next Carl Sagan ! Awesome mam!

  • lol at the guy saying "speilberg's last...er effort"

  • /watch?v=wcc1yUGd8fk wacht this.

    He realise about singularity.

  • he just said... "I CHANGE MY MIND"... he wanna embrace the Singularity

  • How does Michio Kaku make animals dance?

  • artificial intelligence and biological intelligence both have the words intelligence in it. That's what counts

  • @datascatter Brains work with electricity.

  • what year was this made and what year will we see the end of Silicon chips not boobs they last forever? it is already 2011

  • A.I. will be achieved through programing. not anything physical

  • @cravencx

Yet programing is based one how fast the computer can calculate and which is in turn based on physics

  • RETARDED COCKROACH!

  • let me just say... this guy is not a computer scientist. he has no idea what he's talking about (as far as intelligent machines are concerned)

  • I miss TechTV!

  • The difference:

Artificial Intelligence can learn forever, as long as it has a memory storage that can stack the information.

Humans: We learn until we know too much for our memory banks to handle, and thus we start to forget some things.

As long as A.I.'s don't get infinite memory or more storage than a human's mind, we'll be fine. But an A.I. Dumber than a human limits its uses.

  • @halomanalden

    Maybe true but probably not.

We dont really know alot about the brain.

It has recently been claimed that the brain (for other purposes) produces new neurotransmitters once one dies.

If that also applies to memory neuro tranmitters is unproved but cant be disproven aswell.

Humans always keep learning. I think brain impairs are from birth or due to age, not to memory lack.

Its just that A.I. is immortal, organisms arent. But who knows... that might change to in the future.

  • @halomanalden

What is much more likely is that once A.I. processing improves it will eventually surpass the processing power of a human brain. Right now, we can make A.I. Equivalent to a retarded cockroach. In the next 100years?

Remember, bandwith and storage doubles every 1-2years. Thats a exponential growth, meaning we will have such AI computers within 50-100years.

  • I don´t think it´s the speed that matters, it´s the way we think which makes us superior to a computer. Sure the computer is very slow compared to humans but if we come up with an idea about how to compute the infomation like we humans do, then we´d have a AI.

  • Just ask the Borg, they look clanky. " In the future, mankind had the resourses to design A.I. similar to us. Humanity lacked the budget from Obamanomics, so they had to look else where. They ended up using cans, used condoms, needles, a windows 95 computer, broken remote controls and Macaroni artwork."

  • physicist build things? i thought they wrote on chalk boards while engineers build things...

  • What happens when the robot gets smart enough to build a robot, deliberately not putting an Asimov chip in it. :0

  • Michio Kaku: It's a pity that you never served in the military; you really could have made something of your life. Now you find yourself to be just another academic speculator!

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 he was in the military! I believe it was the army branch

  • Michio

    watch?v=9Qa5P7UHNkA

  • 1:32 i was searching the internet for the movie AI

for a second i thought he said Rape Kurzweill :D omfg; D

  • Artificial Intelligence is a bad idea, ask the Quarians.

  • @Halocuber Just ask the Borg, they look clanky. " In the future, mankind had the resourses to design A.I. similar to us. Humanity lacked the budget from Obamanomics, so they had to look else where. They ended up using cans, used condoms, needles, a windows 95 computer, broken remote controls and Macaroni artwork."

  • @Halocuber ME rules :)

  • @Halocuber epic comment !!!

  • @Halocuber haha i was waiting for someone to make a mass effect comment

  • @Halocuber

I love mass effect... and the Quarians made them that way and took steps that were crazy, like instead of disabling the robot's program they just took guns and tried to kill them all. LOL.

  • @Halocuber

Technically, the Geth are all VI's (Virtual Intelligence) but became sentient over time when linked together by a grand network.

Lets not make THAT mistake then...

  • @melis256 They operate at the speed of light. How many Geth would it take to enslave the entire Universe?

  • @dellthinker

    lolwut? o.O

  • @Halocuber Mass Effect FTW. Hope to see Tali's face in the 3rd game.

  • @Halocuber better yet ask john connor

  • @Halocuber Or John Connor.

  • @Halocuber Haha....what an awesome comment!!!! I was just about to play my ME2

  • Kaku and this other guy need to actually read Ray Kurzweil, and stop knocking down straw man versions of his ideas. I'm a nonscientist. In fact, compared to these two highly-specialized guys, I'm no doubt significantly less intelligent. ...But I'm vastly more honest, and vastly more generalized than they are in my thinking. Ray Kurzweil, Jeff Hawkins, Kevin Warwick, Robert Freitas, and Hugo de Garis are the people you should read if you're interested in accurately predicting the future.

  • Michio Kaku needs to stick to physics. Self driving cars and self-flying airplanes exist that are considerably smarter than a "retarded roach".

  • I can't get enough of this Physicist, he's the best!

  • @HermannrubartV so what if im young.. And what? ive never even shot a gun let alone own one. i hate guns. What do you mean a fresh account? this is always been my account for like 5 years. i have a disorder called ADD (attention deficit dissorder). Why would you think that watching a video about artificial would help me cope with it? Thats like saying that people with an eating dissorder stand on their head to cope with it That makes perfect sence right. Oh Yeahh it does

  • the next thing will be silicon built in silicon

  • Hermannrubartv is a dumbass

  • @srtyhtn I didn´t expect that my comment provokes this reactions, and it´s interesting to see what kind of people feel addressed... youngsters whos childhood was/is centred round ego-shooters, with a fresh profile cause their former profile was obviously deleted by YT for legal reasons, paranoid rifle fans of the same age ready to blow away everyone with a different opinion.. I wonder why you learn about artificial intelligence, maybe you hope it helps you to cope with your disorders. Good luck!

  • Lol physicists don't build computers, engineers do

  • The artificial intelligence of computers will be considered alive not when computers gain human like abilities, but when humans realize that we are machines as well.

  • This is a good joke.... all you US jerks watching a video about artificial intelligence, complain about your government while most of you don´t even vote, and demand smart uncle Kaku, your favorite easy going scientist to run for president.

But I fear even that won´t boost your intelligence.

  • @HermannRubartV many people have good reasons for not voting...because it's a joke!

  • @6angelo9 I get it. My critic is: as long as people call for a leader they downgrade themselves to a number.

  • @HermannRubartV In America, 99.9% of "elected" federal officials WORK FOR THE SAME PEOPLE. The people they work for may change with every administration, but I can assure you one thing, and that is that a vote won't help us one bit. The best thing the people of the United States can do right now in this era is stop voting in federal elections and stop paying taxes. If that doesn't help you can call me unintelligent. And you are much worse off then we'll ever be, you can't even defend yourself :)

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71 I guess your rifles offer the easiest solution for every problem that´s coming your way.

  • @HermannRubartV our way*
