explorers would take enough food to last a month and sail against the currents to find new land. if they did not find land then they would use the currents to sail back home in a matter of a week or two.

They became very good at storing food and living off it when they ran out of food.

@konohastylez i mean their bodies store food. the old Samoan diet consists of mostly starchy carbs from taro, sweet potato and green bananas and heaps of protein from fish and red meats...which for any nutritionalists out there would know is a major part of eating when trying to bulk up. best way to get big and be healthy is to move to an island nation...however nowadays samoa is full of junkfood aswell which has made the nation one of worst diabetic nations in the world. but its worth a trip.
