  • The biggest difference, in my opinion, between the 700P and the M24 is that the M24 is designed to be slightly more rugged than the 700P and out of the box has more tactical features like iron sights. I am inclined to give the edge in accuracy to the 700P, but just barely.

  • @AWClark79 Omg thanks a lot ! so this means that i can have all those acessories in the Remington 700P it will really look like M24 yey

    thanks a lot, Subscribed :D

  • @AWClark79 The m24 comes with the 5r barrel. It is a significant improvement over the standard heavy contour barrels on the 700P. Both are excellent rifles and I agree the m24 is built more rugged Especially with the McMillan stock.

  • @AWClark79 I have a 700p and love it, but I have to disagree with you about the 700p edging out the m24. That would be like comparing a stock Chevy Impala to the one that Jimmy Johnson uses in the Daytona 500. The m24 has a stainless match grade barrel, fiberglass stock, blueprinted action etc.

Thanks for posting the video - shoot straight brother.

  • Hi mate, i have a couple of questions, sorry if I'm boring you.

Which is more accurate, the M24 (24'' barrel) or the Remington 700P (26'' barrel, and detachable magazine, in wikipedia it says the 26'' is heavier so it improves the accuracy, and less recoil because its a little more heavy)

Booth Using the .308 bullets, and .300 Winchester Magnum?

And the Remington 700P can also use a similar rail used in the M24 and Emergency iron sights, floorplate latch with some special updates?

    Ty

  • @FranciscoSRO2

Sorry, I am out of the country and have limited internet access

Based on shot groupings, it is hard to notice a difference in accuracy. I would say that both rifles are about 3/4 MOA.

My 700P did not come with rails, detachable magazine, floor plate latch or iron sights, but i am sure those are at least available as aftermarket modifications.

300 win mag wasn't big until after i got my 308. I am sure it is also available. My next rifle will be 300 win mag

  • @FranciscoSRO2 The M24 has 1-11.5 rate of twist with "5R" 5 Lands and groove rifling, with a much heavier contour barrel and 40X matchgrade user adjustable trigger. The 700p is 1-12 twist, 6 land and groove rifling, standard rem trigger like in my videos, and a much slimmer barrel contour. Also the 700p is a short action reciever, and does not have the olympic iron sight dovetail on barrel.

  • what is better ( talking about accuracy ), a m24 24'' barrel or a remington 700P 26'' barrel?

  • hey man did you evert consider the LTR? Im thinking about that model in .308 win

  • the LTR was not out at the time. I would have considered it if it had. I do not know what its MOA rating is. I think, in the end, I would have gone with which ever had the higher accuracy, which I would think would be the 700P with the longer barrel.

  • They both have the same accuracy. You only loose velocity going with a shorter barrel.

    GG

  • True, but as I understand it, that lose in velocity results in an increased error when engaging targets at 600 to 1000 meters. Maybe I am wrong. I utilize my 700 for targets ranging from 400 to 1000 meters. When engaging targets at less that 400, I have a M14 SOCOM 2 with custom chasis that gives me accuracy and maneuverability from ranges of 200 to 400. My AR 15 is for when i expect targets shorter than 200.

If the LTR can match the 700P at distances of 600 to 800 meters, I might change.

  • that's a great looking range

can u put targets up the hill?

  • yes, the hill has targets out to 550 yards if including the side of the hill. There are10" iron maidens through out. It is in Sierra Vista, AZ.

My shepherd scope makes transitioning between different range targets easy.

  • Love the 700p quality vs price is excellent on that rifle !
