i did it all over again and when the snowflake with bar dissapears an apple with a bar comes up and loads and then just a snowflake apears and i did the ibooty process sevral times and nothing it just stays in dfu mode ? and when i turn it on it has the snowflake so no longer stuck on the apple but now the snowflake :/

Hey i tryed getting the jailbreak from redsnow lattest vesion 5.1., and it wiped down my device and i tryed holding the Sleep and home botton then it work and made me restore so i did. then tryed it again on more time and it said it work and it went through all the steps like it downloaded version,and when it got to the Pineapple logo it froze then i did the home and power then turned it on again, and it went to just apple logo and it wont change im afraid that i have messed up my phone.plz help

I jailbreaked it using redsnow 0.9.10b2 and the firmware i used is iphone2,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore

The device is working now but career is not working even after installing ultrasn0w using cydia.. Is there any other option to make it work?

I only ever get different error messages on itunes.... this may have worked for you but not for me and the others here. error message -1, 1600 etc. ebay for spares for me. thanks but you should change title to 'maybe' unbrick your iphone. was worth a try.

@stevemu7 You are getting 1600 error because you are not following the directions. Make sure you put your device into pwned dfu mode, around 2:35 in the video.

HELP! i JB'd my 3Gs and i installed spire. it bricked, and only showed the apple logo. it wont start even if u keep holding both buttons. and i finally got it to show the iTunes logo, but if i try to restore, it says error 21, and it goes back to Apple icon -.- so would this help? cus i really cant go into DFU mode, since it's unresponsive... ;((

@myomyinthtwe If you are on 5.0 with the 06.15.00 baseband and want to get on 5.0.1.... then follow this video and use the 5.0.1 firmware with snowbreeze, then shift restore in itunes to that custom 5.0.1 firmware

@Cpdells 1600 means you must of skiped the step of putting the iphone into a pwned dfu mode. you can open up snowbreeze and the click on ireb to put your device into that pwned dfu state. then do the shift restore to the custom firmware.

It all worked up until i was restoring it on itunes. i did everything correctly. But a little bit after i shift clicked restore and clicked on the sn0wbreeze iOS things it said ' The iPhone could not be restored, unknown error (3194) ' Help?

@TehMagicTouch You will need to download a program called "tinyumbrella" its a nice little tool. Open Tinyumbrella and click the button "start tss server" now that the server is running you will not get error 3194. hoped that helped. i am going to make some error videos today.

This has to be wrong.. I've updated my 3GS to 5.0.1 jailbroke and unlocked with iPad 6.15 baseband and ultrasn0w didn't work.. all I ever got was searching then no service! I had to downgrade to 4.1 to get my unlock back.. I would love to have 5.0.1 on tmobile because I LOVE all the new ios5 features! anyone know a fix or what's the deal?

I followed all your steps. When I did shift restore I got the error 2005. I tried to use other usb ports, didn't work unfortunately. So I read somewhere you need iTunes 10.4.1. I got rid of the 2005 error, but I got the 10 error, which apparently means that you need to upgrade your iTunes. I'm using tinyumbrella all the time to get rid of an other error. I can't use my phone right now, please help.

@YB37 For this to work you need to be on the new itunes since we are using ios 5 firmwares. The 2000's errors really suck and piss me off too. The only advice i could give you is to keep trying different usb ports, uninstall all apple/itunes stuff on your computer then reinstall itunes. Also, put the files on a flash drive and go to a friends house and try it. Good luck.

you have to use iReboot, to boot the phone.

@JEFFMELO Are you trying to restore to 5.0.1 or 5.0? If you are trying to restore to 5.0 apple just stopped signing 5.0 so that might be the reason you are getting that error. Try using a program called "tinyumbrella" and click the start tss server then do the custom restore, it might not work but its worth a try. Also, some people have claimed to fix 3194 error by switching computers so try that too.

@JEFFMELO If you get error 2005 that means you should just plug in the usb cord into a different port in your computer. What i mean is if your iphone is connected through the usb cable to the left side of your laptop, plug it in to a different usb port on the right side. Try that.
