  • So i have a question to all those who say that if MJ had not left The Rockets {or any other team for that matter wouldnt have won the titles in his absence} So let me ask all of you a few questions. Did MJ and the Bulls win titles from MJ's first year until 1993? Second. Isnt it true that the 1990 playoffs the Pistons ELIMINATED MJ and the Bulls 4-2 in the E.C.F? As well as in the 1989 Eastern Semifinals 4-1??

Give me detailed answers and not excuses.

  • texasguy10209....amen.

  • Robert Horry, played by Will Smith...

  • with 6 NBA championships, no doubt the 90s belonged to MJ and the Bulls.. but the Rockets cannot be denied their small share of the cake in that decade, with their own back-to-back in '94 and '95... but thinking of this, it would've been nice if MJ and the Bulls faced Hakeem and the Rockets in the NBA Finals... who would win?

  • @frozenshatterbreak69 im pretty sure houston would've won one

  • you mean to tell me that the blazers traded their franchise player in Clyde Drexler for Otis fuckin Thorpe??? Thats it?

  • @reodagreo1 yes otis thorpe was good though

  • Robert Horry, 7 time Champion.

  • Proud to be a Houstonian. Best underdog team ever!! I would've LOVED to take on the bulls, we would've had a good chance at beating them.

  • i think lets stop this debate.. there is no if in history :)

  • Sam Cassell isn't going to be on the cover of GQ anytime soon....long live this team though

  • @rushdi34 yeah Houdini of the NBA :))))

  • clyde saved the season after Hakeem was injured. Fact..

  • Reuniting the University of Houston PHI SLAMMA JAMMA! I literally clapped my hands! Go Coogs and Go Rockets!

  • @animegamer77 heuy man where to find music in this video

  • ROCKETS THAT A TIME CAN SWEEP! THE BULLS TEAM IF MJ DIDN'T RETIRED...

  • IF JORDAN WON'T RETIRED? FOR SURE 8RINGS....

  • lol@000000MJ2345000000 ....If Jordan wasn`t a gambling junkie, he`d have faced the Center who retired with a winning record against him and swatted him the mos in his career. :)

  • @FuShengAlex LUCKY! rockets....Won 2 times...LOL!

  • 000000MJ2345000000......Jordan lost to the Magic who the Rockets swept. Jordan lucky, lol.

  • Comment removed

  • there looking for clyde... there it is there it is there it is oooohhhhhhhhh clyde derexler wins it!! clyde drexler wins it!!!!

    great commentry

  • @deadpool11 oh man commentary is pure and simple greatest of all time just that radio people in this video gGOD BLESS THEM ALL:))))))))))

  • The Bulls had the greatest player of all time and they were just a better all around team. Anyone who can't accept that is in severe denial. I wish Jordan hadn't retired then this stupid debate wouldn't exist.

  • xraistlin83x ....Jordan and the Bulls lost to a team that Olajuwon`s Rockets beat. If Jordan wasn`t such a gambling junkie he wouldn`t have retired. All we can say about the Rockets and Bulls is that MJ has a career losing record vs. Olajuwon.

  • Here's an interesting thought (in the hindsight is 20/20 category).

The Rockets could have had Jordan, Hakeem and Drexler at the beginning of their careers if two trades had been made at the start of the '86 (or was it '85?) season. All they would had to give up was Sampson and some guard that no one remembers (Rodney Mcray, I think) and maybe a draft pick.

Talk about a scary amount of talent on one team. Toss in a few random other players of NBA talent and you get championships all day long.

  • im proud of bein a 90s kid, but sometimes i just wish i was an 80s kid..this is a primary reason

  • The guy with his jersey tucked into his jeans at 2:27 is priceless.

  • @RyanJordanThomas

lmao so random but yea funny

  • @iTzeXile13 do you know which music is from 5 00 onward?

  • Regardless of they would've won or not if Jordan didn't retire, this was a great team. They were better than the 91 Lakers, 92 Blazers, 93 Suns, and 97& 98 Jazz (5 of the 6 teams the Bulls faced in the finals). Four of those teams made the playoffs. Imagine what Houston could've done to the Bulls. The only Western Conference champion team that could contend with the 93-94/94-95 Rockets team (In the Jordan era) is the 1996 Sonics.

  • They fucked up getting Charles Barkley.

  • Yeah poor Jordan...... had to run away from the NBA (and Hakeem.....the one 90s superstar that owned his ass whenever they faced before he retired) due to him being a gambling junkie.

At least Jordan came back in 95, and despite changing jersey numbers, still got beat by a team Olajuwon swept in the Finals.

  • Yeah what about 1995? Gonna tell me that "Jordan was rusty" excuse as the reason why the Rockets swept the same Magic on the road that beat the Bulls in 6 games?

96-98 Bulls? Yeah how sad is that, MJ had to go out a team up with ex-Badboys that used to make him cry in playoff ball and slap him around for glory, asking Stern to ban handchecking and introduce the flagrant foul rule.

  • What about the Rockets? Couldn't even get past a Utah team that Jordan and the Bulls beat 2 years in a row.

  • The point you made was MJ would've won 8 titles, we're not talking about 97 and 98 (and Dream was injured that year).

The 95 Rockets swept the Magic,....on the road. The Bulls never swept anyone in a NBA Finals. And they lost in 6 games to a team the Rockets swept. You're spewing garbage here pal trying to downplay our titles.

  • thats because the bulls played better teams in the finals

  • What did the bulls do to that same Magic team the 95-96 season. They swept that ass in the eastern conference finals.

  • Oh please. How many times did MJ in his career SWEEP a team on the road like Hakeem did in the '95 Finals

ZERO! Never once in MJ's career did he sweep a team on the road. None of his Bulls squads swept a Finals even having homecourt advantage in 5 of 6 series, and all with better records than Dream's 94-95 team did that. Thank goodness MJ had Rodman....who Dream embarrassed the year before.

  • Yeah, except Jordan won 6 times, I don't see the Rockets doing it. Nice try though.

  • Yeah well Hakeem won in as the only star on his team. I never saw MJ make a Finals w/o Pippen. And '95 where Jordan didn't. Looks like changing jerseys and sneaker brands didn't make a difference. And Hakeem was in the 86 Finals battling arguably the greatest team ever. Why wasn't MJ "stopping" us in '86?

I guess all we'll have to go on between MJ and Hakeem is that Hakeem had a winning record against him.

  • Don't get me wrong, I think Hakeem was the greatest Center ever, but you're talking about someone who has had what, 10 scoring titles? Didn't make the finals in 95, sure, but neither did Hakeem with Drexler on his team in 96. Jordan won all 6 times he got to the finals. Both solid teams, but the Bulls were better I'd say, 6 titles and one 70+ (second was 69) seasons in the same era as the Rockets in question say so.

  • Yeah....well if I recall Shaq won the scoring title this same year that Hakeem won in '95. I didn't mention 96, because we weren't good enough, no excuses. And I don't think the Bulls would've been as successful in 96-98 if they didn't sign Rodman. MJ shot 41% in those Finals, Rodman grabbed a lot of his misses. Orlando killed them on the boards (imo the real series decider) in 95 series.

We didn't run from MJ, or benefit from him retiring.

  • Yes, winning on the 2 years that MJ didn't play in full in (just the end of 95 after an 18 month or so hiatus) was just a coincidence, a total fluke. I'm sure it wasn't because of him retiring at all.

That being said I would have liked to see a Rockets vs Bulls final, pity it didn't happen as Jordan and Olajuwon are probably my favorite players along with Duncan.

  • Whether or not MJ played the full season Orlando would've still beaten them if they didn't have Rodman. They had Kukoc at the PF and Orlando was able to do whatever they wanted in the paint.

MJ came back in '96 and his stats weren't overly any different compared to the '95 playoffs, in fact he had his worst of his 6 Finals performances.

  • Maybe they would have, I guess we'll never know. =(

  • @FuShengAlex

Hakeem had Ralph Sampson in 86. Da Twin Towers ofcourse back then was the era of the Big Men. Like i Been sayin all on this video just cause Rockets had Bulls #. It s da Regular Season. a Way differetn Season than da Finals. Ya the Rockets had da saem squad in 96. What happened to them that season

  • I hope this was a fuckin joke

  • @FuShengAlex jordan never got owned by olajuwan first of all. second of all jordan came halfway through the 95 season after not playing for too years. when he was back full swing in 96 nobody could stop the bulls. don't put down mj that just sounds stupid. give credit to the rockets for winning and to hakeem the dream who imo is the greatest big man of all time.

  • oh be quiet......first off Jordan was not gone for "too years". And he wouldn't have beaten Orlando even if he played the full season. And they wouldn't have won the following year if they hadn't added Rodman and Grant didn't get injured.

If you're a Jordan/Bulls fan that comes trolling on this page belittling the Rockets title years then you rightfully deserve to get put down. HOU fans don't go talking down the Bulls pages. Jordan career loser vs. the Rockets when Hakeem played, owned!

  • @FuShengAlex thanks for the grammatical correction which doesn't matter in this conversation. if you read what i said i gave full credit to the rockets and hakeem. but the belittlement here is coming from you talking about jordan. just because some bulls fans may be out of line here doesn't mean you should go spewing off on how jordan got owned. if u think like that then someone could simply say, where was hakeem and the rockets for the rest of the 90s?? which is a stupid thing to ask.

  • Rooster.."some Bulls fans here are out of line" and unsurprisingly you aren't talking down to their trolling behinds. If they want to troll and belittle then so will I.

I'll talk about MJ however I well please and you aren't able to do anything about it. Who died and made you MJ's online bodyguard? You don't like it, either stay here and complain, or leave the thread for other vidoes.. I never asked you to give any credit to the Rockets in the 1st place, so that doesn't matter.

  • @FuShengAlex yeah and i can call you out for saying wrong things however i please so that's why I responded to your irrational comment in the first place. you don't like it then you can do the same thing you told me. i mentioned the rockets because people should give them credit and leave it be without bringing up jordan. it was all part of the point i was making that you weren't too receptive of. Not expecting much of a response from you but hey can you spell check for me again? thanks.

  • roostercogburn190644......I'm not bothered by you calling me out because my stance and words will stay the same regardless of what you say.

  • @FuShengAlex yeah you should stick to that and don't think to hardly over it, you are probably better off.

  • weres t mac.i dont see him there.

  • Jordan comeback overshadowed NBA playoffs

  • Hakeem & Clyde... one of the best best duo's in the game ever... All the way up there with MJ & Pippen, and Magic & Kareem

  • Yeah I'd say that, but the only reason they don't get "batman and robin" status is because they didn't play together for very long.

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh babyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Rockets ARE STILL the LOWEST SEED to win a championship. (6th seed)

  • in some 90s finals i would like to see houston vs chicago

  • Well that never happened.

  • Bulls were a great dynasty of thee 90s, but this championship was something special due to thee fact that two college buddies re-united & won it together! Clyde thee glide & Hakeem thee dream were awesome:) Great team & one of my favorite Finals ever!!!

  • Totally Agree. =D Best playoffs Ever =D

  • lol at 8:59 funny as hell.....gotta love them rockets!

  • Antohony who is this commentator in first 5 seconds?

  • honestly,i have no idea...ive asked my dad and a few others and even tried googling it cannot come up with an answer for you..sorry

  • @Anthony4x4 hey Man this Hous machine is working on all cylinders:)))

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck you

  • You're fuckin nuts.....the rockets owned the bulls. They would have fucked them up in the finals.

  • thats not the rockets fault mj left. what about the second year? mj came back, did his usual thing but got beat by a more talented magic team. also there was ONE team mj had a losing record to in his career and that was HAKEEMS HOUSTON ROCKETS.

  • @jamesanderson26 The magic did not have a more talented team that chicago that year are you kidding me? They had an mj that was in baseball shape for crying out loud. and by 96 when the bulls won their 70 games they matched up very well against hoston.... Even in 94 if jordan had not retired and everything happend as it did the bulls are looking at starting 5 of bj mj, pippen, horace, and cartwright and still would have had pax, toni, king, williams and the rest of the bench boys

  • @atm1919 Baseball shape? Jordan NEVER got out of proper condition, and that's his own words. So you are wrong. Besides, what player in "baseball shape" (whatever that means) could drop 50+ on the Knicks two weeks after returning to the league? He was fine. The Magic just beat them straight up.

  • @jamesanderson26 Not to mention.... Jordan would have drove mad max nuts.... remember that game he started for the 76ers in 95 with stackhouse after bad mouthing m.j. jodan beat em by 20 and made both mad max and stack look like the children that they really were. and the 95 rockets had a better starting 5 but by losing thorpe in the dexler they lost a big piece up front. and yeah drexler really slowed mj down in 92 too... yeah im sure the rockets would steam rolled the bulls lMAO

  • @atm1919 Yeah, and MJ really slowed Drexler down in 92. LMAO. You're stupid. Thorpe was a solid player, but Drexler took over when Olajuwon was out in a way that Thorpe never could have. And besides, they swept their opponents in the Finals. That's what matters.

  • @jamesanderson26 yes

i know mj is the goat but i am tired people talking what if he stayed, rockets won end of story

hakeem is my favorite player ever not mj and people act like i am crazy f em mj was amazing but i like hakeem more

  • didnt scottie pippen say that to karl malone in 97

  • Yeah Jazz Suck

  • weird? hoW?

  • long live this team. one of the best examples of a complete team to this day.

  • The 1995 champion Rockets looked like the NBA version of the '78 Yankees, where they started at the bottom (3rd in division at 47-35), beating teams when they came from behind (Utah, down 2-0, won 3-2, Phoenix, 3-1, won 4-3, upset the #1 seed Spurs, (won 4-2) & swept the Magic (4-0).
