I often find myself agreeing with many of the points Maher makes, but I think its very clear that his own integrity is at least partially suspect. Its very telling that he likes to end his show with a monologue that his guests are forced to sit and listen to without being able to comment on or challenge. He just can't handle not having the final word.

Kudos to Hitchens for being unafraid to speak his mind in the face of yes-men sheep that boo him for expressing a different opinion. I miss him.

These are both guys I respect and look-up to. If I am to watch a debate or disagreement, I'd much rather it's between two intelligent guys who know what they're talking about and having a rational debate based on real-world facts, than two people arguing about whether evolution is real or not. I believe Hitchens won this one, but respect to them both. This is how we really learn - from the best.

Is it? What people need to do is wonder how far Democrats like Bill Maher would prefer the government goes if there would be no opposition to stop them. Is there any government intervention (with the economy, for instance) that Maher wouldn't like if he knew he could get away with it? Progressives never have enough of regulation and intervention even WITH opposition putting up a fight. Without it, you'd be surprised how many of them prove to be communists.
