Someone once gave me a very dog-earred tatty book called "Confessions of an advertsing man" by David Ogilvy to read before I embarked on a marketing diploma. There are some sound suggestions for all businessmen and marketers today within it - probably why his legacy lives on in the agency as we know it today.

i am in this company as well. but i feel like quiting it because i dont feel i am enjoying it....i guess i am lucky enough got into it. but there is more in life to look for? ..maybe?

in romania is Ogilvy and Matter adveriting agency and the system is the same - very rigid, i know people that fought to get in and now are happy they quit ... To bad that the creative liberty D. Ogilvy loved so much, is not applying anymore ...

I also bought his book and I like reading it. His advises are really good as reference. To Mr. Ogilvy, I want to work for O&M. I always do but never ever get a chance to step in!

Best book you can read bout him is Ogilvy on Advertising, in my humble opinion, the best book he ever wrote about Advertising and his life.
