  • there is no such thing as a reliable rotary engine. the most reliable is the bog stock aspirated 13b or 20b. why? because mazda built them to be. and just like a piston motor the more power you make the faster they wear out. and special seals? they are a compromise between durability and raw horsepower handling characteristics. bottom line is you take each engine for it merits. rotaries are cheap power but low durability, piston motors for torque, power but to make them properly reliable costs $

  • Skeckevo is on a roll... what are you? The Rotard version of aiji8/Rotaryisgarbage?

  • what a shame, you should burn down that car,if you gay guys want to go v8 put it in a american car, faggot

  • V8's are easier to maintain and work on.you dont need 10k+ for diagnostics equipment for a rotary plus specialized experience.

  • I love chevy v8 and I love the rotary all I need to say is aji8 needs to go watch the vidoes of the puerto rican built rotaries sorry man but those guys can build a mean rotary they have an NA one in the 7-8s quaters might even be 6 now

  • Look at that fag smile. He's asking for a Dr.marten in the teeth

  • To all the idiots that argue over which engine is better for the RX-7 or not. Any engine can last well over a 100,000 miles if its well taken care of. Just like a rotary's, v8 need their maitainence too. Don't keep up with your maitainence and see how long it will last you! Most people aren't used to, or to lazy to, take care of a rotary engine. Yeah they are more needy for maintanence, but what engine isn't thats turbo charged. When any power adder is added, maintanence is more crucial.

  • @degreen4820 Not all of them are turbo bro.... ill find a dead N/A before Ill find a turbo one

  • ive seen a whole bunch of these ls2 swaps and i just wanted to know why you guys do them? im not hating im just asking. wouldn't it be cheaper to leave them in the previous car instead?

  • @masterkdrifter the reson why the rorty engen blow up an its like a grand to fix when its cheaper to just drop in a ls motor

  • for the size of the rx7 (in general) the engine bay isnt that big

  • @xxbulletx Just as big if not bigger than the current Corvette engine bay and a better looking car to boot.

  • I say you should have kept the rotary. now its not an rx7 anymore.

  • @prisonbreak7760 The engine does not determine what the car is or is not. The engine isnt what makes an RX-7 special. Its a lightweight great handling car regardless of the engine equipped. With an LS1 its just a faster lightweight, great handling car.

  • @li7in6...((ofcouse)) the rotory engine is what make the rx7 so unique and special if it just had a run off the mill v6 or v8 it would be like every other frckn car on the road. It is deffently been fine tuned for the rotor as the saying go's if it ant a rotor it ant a motor please check your facts before you start posting rubbish. thanks

  • @budzag The RX-7 is a fantastic car DESPITE its motor. The chassis is lightweight and well tuned for handling, this is what makes the RX-7 special. The engine is simply a novelty and an annoyance in its unreliability. There are no other cars that provide the level of lightweight sports car handling performance and refinement for anywhere near as little money as an RX-7. Saying there is nothing special about an RX-7 other than its novelty motor just shows you've never driven one.

  • @li7in6 Mate i own a series 6 twinturbo and i use the car every day for work and red line it eveyday and it runs great useing power fc and if the motor fuked out 1 day i will be going big single turbo an bridgy it. So mate dont try talk shit bout the car when u think u know it all.

  • @budzag What does any of that have to do with anything I said? If you think an unreliable, underpowered, torqueless novelty motor is what makes an RX-7 a good car. You are an idiot.

  • @li7in6 Swap the motor and it's doesn't handle the same though and there are few suspension guys that can get the handle back.

  • @NotCommonSense The weight difference is ~50lbs. there will be no noticeable difference in handling between a 13b and a properly done LS1 car.

  • @prisonbreak7760 yes it is, its just a faster, reliable RX-7

  • Should have just bought a corvette or a maro.

  • @Subsw00fers Nah, it is worth the time and money to take a good chassis, get rid of the junk rotary engine and put in a great power plant!!

  • @Subsw00fers RX7 lighter, better handling, and better looking.

  • Fuck V8!

  • @Wankelklausi

Another jealous rotard. Your Wanker engine must be getting rebuilt again.

  • hey anyone else notice how much of a tool aji8 is, iv seen him talking shit on like every v8 rx7 video on youtube man this guy needs to get a life!!!

  • @H1shman yep

  • why remove the rotary engine? D:

  • my buddy has a rotory his plate say timebomb, theres a reason

  • @mathyu0179 hahaah! that was funny!

  • Back to topic, the rotary sucks and a swap like this makes the car what it should have been from the factory.

  • @aji8 you are a tard, who said anything about modded rx7's? i said stock from japan, they limit them with 276hp, you can deny it srry, and who said anything about a rx8? not me.

  • @darkeyce02

I am going to say once again since you are a moron, the Japanese cars were NOT limited to 276 h.p. The figures that I quoted were bone stock. Source is edmunds. Look it up moron, or am I giving you more credit than you deserve. You rotards are about the most stupid people on these automotive vids on youtube. Thanks for proving to everyone here that you are an idiot though.

  • @aji8 what about JAPAN did you not understand? and edmunds is NOT a reliable source, of course you wouldnt know shit... but atleast you admit they have more hp than your stock v8

  • You said Japanese cars moron. They do export those all over the world idiot and have OVER 276 h.p. and do NOT have more h.p. stock v.s. my V8. Get a clue moron.

  • @aji8 you are stupid... 300hp is more than what your v8 makes, you probly got it out of a tractor anyways

  • LOL..no you are stupid as my car makes over 300 h.p. at the engine. It may make about 300 at the wheels. You are another rotard without a clue moron. Chevy V8s (Camaro, Corvette) haven't put out less than 300 h.p. in over 12 years. Time for you to get a new brain idiot.

  • @aji8 gen 3 rx7 has 276hp, turbo 2jz Supra makes 276hp, Mitsu 3000gt turbo makes 276hp but 321hp IN USA... dumbass they are in japan, im not talking about american limits, stupid ass... ive already said IN JAPAN... you know im right your just to stupid to admit it...and edmunds says 255hp gen 3 rx7...yes your wrong and i proved it again...andi will again.... grow up dude, take care of your kids instead of acting like one, i feel bad that they have your genes, or anyone that would sleep with you

  • Yeah of course the rotary can't make over 300 h.p. as it is a junk engine. Who gives a shit about Japan. The fact is that there are no limits here in the US and the rotary still can't keep up. That was the original argument that you had. YOU FAILED once again idiot. I prove you wrong and you are just backpeddling to try and recover. Thanks for proving that you are a low grade idiot, probably not even worthy to be called a rotard. LOL

  • wtf? lol you are stupid, you just admited you were wrong, and youk know im right as i gave proof, you didnt prove anything other than agreeing with me... grow up like i said, you arent a kid anymore,

  • @darkeyce02

I never admittied that I was wrong. You just screwed up, backpeddled and redefined your statements. That means YOU were wrong, not me.

You are an idiot for sure. Do you even have a rotary?

If so, you will find out the hard way that they are junk and the LS series engines are the best thing to happen to the RX car.

  • @aji8 backpedaled? lol, your hilarious, i had to tell you 3 times, each time was longer cause your stupid ass couldnt under stand FROM JAPAN, not my fault your stupid. re-read them they all mean the same... what a idiot....GROW UP< YOUR NOT A KID ANYMORE...you never have anything to say to that cause you know your a childish prick

  • @darkeyce02

That is correct moron, you said FROM, while you should have said made IN Japan specifically FOR Japan. You failed and now you are backpeddling once again. Get lost loser...LOL You fail at the English language or to produce the correct words out of your idiotic mouth.

  • @aji8 lol your funny, still no comeback to being childish cause you know its true... what a loser, and use backpedaling in the right context, backpedaling does not help you at all, it only helps me... dam kids in gross old man bodies

  • @darkeyce02 I gave you a comeback, you are just too stupid to realize it. You are the one that gave out misinformation and backpeddled. Anybody here on youtube can see that and the fact that you are a liar. Keep it up rotard. The rotary is junk and you can't face the facts. This car was saved from the scrapyard with a V8. End of story, you lose.

  • bummer... no more sports car... just another muscle in sheeps clothing

  • @darkeyce02

This is more a sports car than it ever was with the junk rotary. It can handle just as well as it used to and will make it around the course faster with the extra muscle. You are just a rotary without a clue.

  • @aji8 i proved you wrong, and you come back with more crap... cant argue facts can you...

  • What facts, the ones that prove you are an idiot and know nothing about cars. You are correct. I can't argue with that.

I can argue that this is more of a sports car with the V8 than with the rotary. Stock even with the turbo this car had about the same power as most family grocery getters. It is much improved now

  • LOL your hilarious kid, tell me way thers more piston cars in junk yards and on the side of the road EVERY DAY?,the rx7's and all japanese cars were limited to 276hp, as you know a supra could eat a muscle alive on the road, but stock they have 276hp just like the mazda, even the 3000gt has 276hp. i proved you wrong again, despite how you think your always right...it wouldnt take much to chip the rx7 and other tiny things and you can easily have as much hp as a vette. with less $, srry your wrong

  • @darkeyce02

How do you know this? How do you know anything. So far all you have proven is that you are an idiot and now you expect people to take this as facts. Get lost idiot. Come back when you have some facts. You are just talking garbage and your post goes different directions. Let's focus on the rotary POS, which it is.

  • @darkeyce02

Wow, you are a complete moron and brag about it as the 90s Supra turbo, 3000 GTVR4, and the 300ZX TT ALL have over 300 h.p. You are a moron and a liar.

The rotary is junk. You need to quit lying and diverting from the facts. Once again your lies were shot down.

  • You proved that you were wrong as I did too by showing Jap. cars with over 300 h.p. Once again caught in your lies.

  • @aji8 HAHA i knew you would have no comeback to that, IT IS A FACT, LOOK IT UP JACKASS, they are limited out of the factory at 276hp ALL of them, they have potentiol to make a HUGE amount of power but due to japanese law, they cant exceed 276hp... look it up, it is pure fact, go on ebay, all stock rx7's and 3000 gt's have 276hp....give it up, i win... and you cant say its not fact, no wayyyy you can prvoe it wrong

  • @aji8 .....your stupid,,, look at stock specs. they all ahve 276hp... fuckin kids these day's, they are so ignorant

  • First off moron even if they did have 276 which they don't you idiot, 276 is still NOT almost 300. You are a liar, and once again caught in your lies. The Rx8 R3puts out 232 h.p. (edmunds) you lying piece of crap.

  • @darkeyce02

It is more of a sports car than ever. You are just too stupid to realize it.

Stock the rotary is pathetic, modified it is still pathetic, more unreliable, and poor at streeability.

  • puting a v8 in that throws off the steering its going to be like a cow in tied to your bumper

  • Another misinformed rotard. The balance of the car with the Ls engine and 6 speed is 50/50. Get some facts idiot.

  • @aji8 haha more muscle to get around corners, the tires would spi nand let lose with the rotory, ther would be no difference with the v8, they would let go at the same threshold.

  • The V8 power is far more easy to control than the peaky power of the turbo rotary on the track. Get a clue moron.

  • you have no proof of this so STFU!

  • Spanky sorry to point out how big of a TOTAL IDIOT you are but it must be done.

Fact #1 a Fully dressed Ls1 with all factory trimmings weighs an Average of 130 pounds heavier than a STOCK NATURALLY Aspirated (Not Turbo charged) 13b rotary. A simple Person weighs more on average than the weight difference between a 13b and an ls1.

Fact #2 Simply sitting in a car upsets the weight balance.

Fact #3 It is impossible for ANY Running car to have a perfect 50/50 weight balance

  • @AcomsRazor1776

I agree I mean many people get REALLY close to 50/5- but to get an exact 50/50 is so danm hard and probably impossible

  • The fact of the matter is Auto manufacturers weigh their cars dry when calculating their total curb weight and weight balance. Meaning they weigh them with an empty tank. The Average Rx7 has an 18 to 20 gallon gas tank . Gasoline weighs an average of 6.5 to 7 pounds a gallon depending on temperature. meaning a full tank of gas weighs an average of 130 pounds making the running weight of the rx7 130 pounds back heavy. Like it or not an Rx7 has a closer to 50/50 weight distribution with an Ls1

  • @spankyb16 wrong! lol

  • to aji8 wtf u talking about rotary failure the real failure was putting in the v8. my FC would smoke this v8 anyday rotary 4 life.

  • LOL..keep dreaming rotard.

  • the rotary is a fantastic piece of engineering... but its getting smoked by the LS1, or any LS series engine. Look at the specs and compare. LS is way more powerful and suits the car better than the rotary. the rotary is unique, but the V8 Rx7 is better.

  • Finally, someone who truly understands the these engines. It's annoying to always find a '7 v8 vid and see Rotards and V8-tards? battle it out.

  • do any of you rotary bashers actually have experience with them, or is all this macho v8 man talk just hearsay??

  • just hearsay, they dont know a thing about rotary's, you look at all the major racers mazda has won with rotary's and they were endurance events, i know for a fact the rx7 that raced in the bathurst 12hour enduro had a bright red exhaust from manifold to tip and it won 3 straight years and besides personally id rather spend $700 on some shatter proof apex seals, and build up a 13b then spend $5000+ on a v8s engine internals, aswell as cams, head porting etc etc

  • I know that after working in a junk yard for 6 years I never saw an Rx7 come in with any more than 100k on the odometer! that's experience enough to tell me how UINreliable they are.

  • and don't forget if you over heat them. i'm glade that the mazda dealer talked me out of the rx7 and now the rx8!

  • isnt rx8 rotary too

  • @99golfracer

10 months ago 4 "do any of you rotary bashers actually have experience with them, " I Have $ years experience with them. My experience consisted of Cataloging them into the junkyard archives by Year of model, vin Number, and Mileage. You want to know what the average mileage of one that came in was? about 120K miles or less.

  • @AcomsRazor1776 with how many rebuilds? the "average" rotary doesnt get 120k on them .....

  • @ecoli023 hey mate if you dont know about the rotary engine and cant tune them,i understand, but now have new technology, for example just as forged pistons, they have unbreakable seals etc, just build and TUNE the rotary right, and you have a monster, and realiable engine, its an amaziing engine,

  • @99golfracer Yes, I blew a Wankel "just over 65,000miles so it was a long runner" and did the 350 swap, there are lots of kits available as this is SOOO common and for same reason, but the small heavy wankel engine block is still in use on my boat! I was happy with the performance of the wankel when it ran and always brought a smile to my face, but was much happier with the more reliable and powerful GM power plant, look at rx7 forums, ppl that love these advise doing this, whole forums on it.

  • @GamesterX69 wow really mine lasted 120,00 miles but i changed the oil every 3,000. also built it myself but don't get me wrong i was not easy on it at all and i me not at all. but i to went for the v8 swap but put a 302 in it cause well i'm a ford guy but nothing is a smoothas that old 13b not even my dads old v12 jag.

  • This car is now complete!

Good job! The rotary failure has been removed.

  • Dude, you are killing the v8 side of the argument by bitching on every video. Both engines are good for different reasons so please. Calm down.

  • The rotary is good for a door stop or a boat anchor.

  • And a '91 Lemans winner. It's not perfect, and v8's are great but also have drawbacks, but you blow this so out of proportion no one will take you seriously. Plus... take a look around, you're on youtube. If you like the small blocks so much, pleeeaassse go fiddle with one than whining on the internet about engines you don't like.

  • Keep digging this up if it helps. Fact is the rotary is falling behind. Soon, if Mazda keeps making them, the rotary powered cars will not have enough power to keep up with the competition. Most sport coupes now have over 300 h.p. I fiddle with engines all the time. I fiddled with the rotary and realized what junk it is.

  • This is your first logical, factual comment I remember reading. But old pushrod V8s aren't any more sophisticated. But then again we got OHC v8s now. ...which over all others, I prefer.

  • Mazda them selves told me that the rotary engine is a piece of shit

  • @ls1killa Well I love V8s anyways. So not a problem.

  • i have a 1994 rx7 and its a piece of shit im wondering if my 408 mustang stoker motor would fit like i love the roterys just alot of work!

  • nice , but rx 7 must have a rotary ;)

  • This vid is proof it doesn't have to. The car is much better now.

  • Yeah if you want less power, by all means keep the rotary.

  • Good job!!! That must have been a bitch to do, not to mention that engine would cost a ton

  • dam 420hp, in a MAZDA< holy shit, and those that say they are unreliable are you kidding, those engines have been drivin up to 300,000 miles with only needing new radiators and belts, plus fluids obviously, but anyone that says "unreliable" is a RETARD, or has no idea what they are talking about, DURR

  • With this engine and tranny and rx-7 rolling shell...it probably was as much as atleast a C5 corvette so fuck off dumb cunt.

  • the cost of the car plus the build is about the same as what you can get a C5 corvette for now, difference is. this car is about 3-400lbs lighter, you do the math.

  • that's because the vette is at least 300-400lbs heavier.

  • Very nice!

  • Oh sure, real nice. You took away the only unique thing about a rx7 and made it just a normal car.

  • something about an LS1 in a rx7 doesnt say normal to me, it says "Holy shit, what was that!?"

  • Have you ever owned a Rotary powered car? I had a 93 RX7 TT 5spd a few years ago, had it modded, ran 102 in the 1/4 when I took it, if I recall. Anyway the whole time I owned that car, I said I really liked the car, but it needed a V8, I would still have it if it had a V8.

    Doh! You could've had a V8! :-)

I'm trying to sell my 01 Cobra Vert now to buy one of these 3rd Gen RX7 V8 conversions.

  • Yeah it is real nice! He made a nice car much better. The Wankel was a big mistake for Mazda.

  • so pretty much you saying the lemans winning 787b was a mistake. a properly built rotary engine can go forever, not to mention it can make huge power for such a small engine. if you think it was a mistake something is wrong with you.

  • "properly built rotary engine can go forever," I was unawre that a 90 thousand mile life expectancy equaled "forever"

  • It is forever to them as they never owned a piston engine which lasts much longer and is much more streetable and reliable.

  • @AcomsRazor1776

LOL...that was good! Logic at its finest. One day the rotards may learn, but until then we can have fun with them. I agree, my Rx7 was on its second engine at about 142K.

  • @Rotaryisgarbage aji8...go to ell already... grow up learn how to drive and you wont have to replace a engine

  • @darkeyce02 I am grown up and don't have to replace failed rotarys as I have piston engines.

  • @AcomsRazor1776 Uh, what rotary has a life expectancy of 90000 miles? How did you even get that number?

  • @dsw5022 on average the 13b-rew pops between 60,000-90,000 miles. Less if its modified. Go look at FD's and find one running with 90,000 miles + on the original engine. They are few and far between.

  • You obviously know nothing about cars, and the 787B barely won.

Read up on it before posting your misinformation.

  • Wheres your proof?

  • In the vid above...if the rotary was worth a damn, people wouldn't swap it out.

My Rx7 was on it's second engine in about 140K. Time for a piston engine.

  • Fuck off. No one would be talking a bout MAZDA if they didnt stand out with their no competion high power light weight engine

  • No one would do these swaps if Mazda had done correctly from the factory moron.

  • Mazda got the fd3s spot on. Only a moron who cant build a rotary would resort to fitting an engine 4 times larger to make the same or less power!

  • Mazda didn't get anything spot on as they used the rotary in the first place. When you get tired of rebuilding that junk just come to us and we can help you get a real engine in there!

  • You are correct..it is just like a normal car now. It runs and gets decent fuel economy. Most importantly, it runs.

  • jesus christ why is everyone hating on rotaries?

  • they break down alot.

  • Only cuz fukheads dont tune/build them properly!

  • More like Because they Are a Bitch to Keep up. Unreliable, Maintenance whores they are.

  • Does any1 know if a 5.2L Piston can hit 700-930hp N/A on Race Gas? If so please send me the link to the video I want to see it. No Boost, No Nitro, Stock internals. Pure American Muscle power with no funny stuff.

  • I hope you have a rotary. You will change your mind or have your rotary in the garage more than on the street. Trust me.

You are an idiot, most of these guys know more about cars by doing one that you will know in your lifetime.

  • Course I have a rotary. Ive worked with performance cars for years. Maybe thats why mines still going and you fucked your engine in 140k.

  • Yeah well you have to know how to work on a rotary to keep them going that long cause they usually don't make it past 80K

They are junk glass engines. I hope you enjoy rebuilding often.

I didn't mess up my engine. I got the car with the second engine and took it out before it gave me grief!

    JUNK...I have a V8 now thank God!

  • Wat a dick!! So you dont actually know first hand how long it will actually last! and weather or not it performs better!!! your just a fucking yank dikk fuk that doesnst understand shit!

  • Rotary won't last long. Stock they are lucky to make it to 100K Boost them and you take a chance starting it in the morning.

  • i finaly agree with you man my engine just gernaded and im starting on my ls swap. im not hateing on rotarys i still love them and apericate them but for daily drivability they suck

  • Stock ones blow or wear out moron!

    They are junk engines!

  • is that a LS1?!

  • Nice choice man. Chevy V8 all they way. I think you meant LS1 though.

  • ls2 is the base engine in the new corvettes as well as the 09 camaro

  • That would be the LS6. I think...

The LS2 is the 6.0 litre engine that came with the GTO

  • just checked chevy's site now its the ls3 in the new 09 corvettes was the ls2. the ls6 was in the z06 now its the ls7. and yes the ls2 is in the GTO's and the new camaro will also have the ls3 i was wrong earlier

  • LS1 or LS4? Ya it sould be in every car and truck made from now on.

  • that sounds tuff as

  • sauber gemacht soweit

  • Hey buddy, good work out there! I have one too, it has been a year since I brought it from US to Czech republic and it is quite a unique car, indeed! It still needs some work to be done :) where do live at? You can PM me, if you want. Later...

  • i would even drive it lookin like that nice work

  • now you can spend the rest of your life peasing your car back togather.

  • peasing? Nice...

  • i think the idiot ment piecing haha

  • hey bud sorry to tell you but a 20b rotary engine is light as piss compared to a V8, and also a 13b or 20b would demolish that rubish waste of space called a V8

  • the 20b is about 40 pounds lighter (more with forced induction... which you need, since rotaries have as much usable torque as a kia) than the all aluminum LS-1 V8 shown in this video. people who know nothing about this swap seem to have a lot to say against it...

  • and most problably dont even drive, unless tehy can get the car from mom or dad

  • Because the V8 is lighter then those engines, equally priced or cheaper.

  • yo, nice car, keep up the good work!

but why did you go with this engine? why a V8 and not another engine? like let's say a 2JZ, or 20B??
