It worked, woo hoo! Thanks! On Mac OS 10.5 I had to hold down CTRL while clicking on iTunes in the menu bar and then clicking on "About ITunes." A iTunes mini window opens and starts scrolling rather quickly but it repeats itself until you stop it. So, after writing the S/N in about 5 characters each time it scrolled, I finally got it all. Thank you and now I am going to be able to give this to the cops that probably won't find my grandson's iPod, but then we are smarter than the cops!LOL

@Real4Bas well as long as you have the receipt, all you do is claim a stolen ipod, call apple first, claim stolen ipod, give s/n, and it will shut down the ipod so it connot be used, i did happen to get my touch back, but it was a long process
