  • does the wall move different when your near it ???

  • its not to have a moving wall,people.its about the technic behind this.

  • Why the fuuuu- do we need. An interactive WALL.

  • lo que es tener lugar al pedo

  • Pretty cool, but can it hold up a roof?

  • neat kinetic sculpture

  • why does everything always have to be useful? people think that just becuase something doesnt directly benefit ones life it is a waste. Sometimes people make things just becuase it is cool or interesting, not so it can be used or commercially sold.

  • @NautilusDubstep your right, they just have to be fucking awesome :D

  • Hmm... Aperture Science anyone??

  • @alitllebitemo

    Hopefully when they make a portal gun, it'll be at an affordable price range... that would make grabbing a drink when playing future Portal games so much easier.

  • @TrueShawnBW True! Let's hope they won't make a GLaDOS..

  • this is so wontderful! Not often I see the joy of design and engineering so well done!

  • I wanna go to this place!

  • for some reason........i wanna touch it. :]

  • Super smooth sails for sailing ships... minus the rigging or

    Adaptive shapes for turbine blades and so forth...

    Loads of uses where smooth flow means greater efficiency

  • It could be like in Crash Bandicoot. The walls don't have to stay in one place and move, they could come flying at you and you have to run to dodge. It'd certainly make good excercise for the planet.

  • Amazing nothingness . I see a lot of them in the EU Headquarters in Brussels, at the cost of one million euros per wall, to symbolize the taxing sacrifice of EU people for spending money for nothing but the megalomania of their elites.

  • FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE QUESTIONING HOW THIS TECHNOLOGY COULD BE USED > SEE "HOW" THE FESTO TECHNOLOGY IS BEING USED AROUND THE WORLD

    htt [Add a "p"] ://ww [Add a "w"] .festo.com/cms/en_corp/11040.ht [Add a "m"]

  • @SupersnakeLivesTo100, can you just give us the correct link, please?

  • @Germanaugustomorales

    Be glad to. Make the following substitution

    X = h

    Y = t

    Z = p

    D = w

    V (last character on the end of the link) = m

    XYYZ:DDD.festo.com/cms/en_corp/11040.XYV

  • @Germanaugustomorales

    Sure, will be glad to. Please see my later post below.

  • This could be very useful in america... so when fat people need more room to walk down a hallway, the walls bend outward to let them through

  • i really wish there was some type of explanation as to how these things work (all their creations in general) watching cool science-y things shift about without any explanation if not how it works then what it could be used for (for me, hidden entrances and self adjusting rooms (the one youre in gets bigger while that on the other side shrinks))

  • the first step to Aperture Science's panels

  • Is this company like Aperture Science or what?

  • @zolikoff I wish! portal gun away!!!!

  • Why is everyone so hell bent on calling all of Festo's creations "pointless." This is how new technologies get created. Sure, they don't do much, but it's about what they COULD do that counts. Plus they're super awesome to watch. =]

  • @GayDessert i compleatly agree cause this tecknology is the kindof thing that in a few years will take us to mars and back, but ya...i compleatly agree

  • fake...

  • @makkachakka how is it fake?

  • @makkachakka ??

  • it would be cool to see this as an interactive maze. >:D

  • @ogichiseo thats so evil! lmaoXD

  • I like the part where it swings.

  • Who let Dali touch my walls? D=<

  • It's nice, but can it keep the mexicans out of the U.S.

  • @RadBunion:it can confuse the that mexican guys.

  • @spyguybuy Not, it wont, no even the national guard, the huge money expended on the "border security" or the weird laws... litte by litte the us becomes for the latin-american people... Like it or not.... IOL IOL....

  • THIS WOULD look amazing as a feature on the streets of majur citys :D

  • Cool. But i dont see a way how this could be useful.

  • somebody else will :-)

  • @LuciusMare make a whole hallway with those types of walls just to mess with someone's head.

  • @LuciusMare I don't think it's supposed to be useful... I think it's supposed to intrigue and inspire

  • @LuciusMare It isnt.

  • @mysim20 But it's still awesome.

  • @BundleOfBurlap True groo true.

  • @LuciusMare they could use it in art exhibits.

  • @LuciusMare is mona lisa "useful" then or something?

  • @LuciusMare

    Intelligent windresistance?, perhaps future interactive and decorative wall systems?, reactive protective barriers for highways in smaller sizes?, subsystems in bumpers on future cars for impact zones?, lay them down lateral and you have a possible wind change flow system for large aircondition areas.

    Creativity is the key :).

  • @LuciusMare you live in a life of total capitalism. This is constructivism you make things just to show the capacity of making this type of things. Its pure engineering. Not engineering for capitalism.

  • @LuciusMare

    They could use it in rides...at exhibitions for display...if you could make it move faster it could be used in a haunted house type setting. there are quite a few useful applications.

  • @LuciusMare for ads and decoration

  • @LuciusMare -its useful as a work or Art that moves.

  • @LuciusMare it means you're not innovative enough

  • @LuciusMare There are already houses where the walls change positions to make the sound bounce better and change for each song or even each sound imagine this being useful for that

  • @LuciusMare could be used to make buildings that avoid planes or move in an earthquake to acomidate the people inside without noticiing the earthquake.

  • Put it outside like the world's biggest wind chime!

  • you can combine the wall with a short throw 1080p projector and a gesture sensor and use it as a huge display ...of course you'd have to sync distortions in the image with the movement and curvature of the wall to make sure you maintain right angles but that would be pretty cool

  • yes you could but you would have to half to have a clear window in the wall to project but the only problem that would be left is distortion from the window moving infront of the projecter think about it
