But BECAUSE we raise SOOOO many animals for consumption, we are wasting TONS and TONS of grains and water to feed those animals, rather than giving it to the 5 billiob starving PEOPLE. The resouces used to keep the factory farmed livestock take away the amount the land can produce for US.

The chicks are not being killed, nor are they being given steroids or hormones or whatever other shit. It's a vaccine that will keep them from getting sick. The chicks would not be killed here because it would be pointless. It's not profitable. And what you don't see is when the chicks are sent to growout farms where they live their life in as comfortavle environment as possible - because it maximizes their growth. Chockens aren't big because of drugs, they're big because of selective breeding.

@TheDragoness . Actually, they are bigger due to selective breeding AND GROWTH HORMONES. Also selective breeding also makes them sick much easier. They are fed antibiotics in their food. When you eat a chicken like this, you are ingesting antibiotics and growth hormones. The taste of these engineered chickens is not nearly as wonderful as chickens raised the correct way. Watch the movie Fresh and read The Omnivores Dilemma. That helped me understand corporate farming is hurting more than helping

I also Raise my own meat chickens ( : I don't give them medication when they get sick I just chop the head off and cook it or feed it to the dogs. Thanks to obama I no longer have medical insurance so the chickens getting antibiotics are more healthy than I am.
