I love this song. Gary Barlow did a great job writing it for Dame Shirley. She performs it with such poise and power. Ultimate professional. Her little giggle is too cute. I am sorry they don't do the great second stanza of this song where it says: No more trying to break free, no more apologies, no more finding my feet, just to fall. She delivers it so convincingly. Her phrasing is profound. Long live Dame Shirley!

I was really lucky and was there on the night it was recorded. Gary wrote the song for her and was one of a small group of people who persuaded her to make the new album. Any well he is just lovely, why wouldn't she hug him

Dear Gary, I love TT 2nd time round. I love his talent and his sweetness. The boys obviously like him a lot. His lovely wife and children ditto - because he is decent, I think and funnier than people give him credit for - and his obvious talent. Please anyone who's commenting on her vocal quality should watch the eletric prom concert, where the sound quality is way better, before making any judgement.

I'm 35 but the so called today's "Divas" like Whitney and Mariah can't make it "decentlyt" through a song without pitching and lipsync. This what an entertainer should be...100 % real talent not a plastic product like the many cheap, marketing built, dumm blondes there are around these days!

I do not know what was going on with her voice at the electric proms, but she didn't sound too good. Here however, she sounds absolutely on top again. I have noticed that in her career times when her voice is a off, she sounds very bad, and when it's in good form she sounds brilliant. It's either one or the other with the dame, or at least, that is my opinion. Bravo!

Hello there, I love how you ae sticking to your sentiment! I have read this comment on many videos I have seen tonight. I quite agree with you too. I only Found Dame Shirley in October for the first. I fell in love with her powerhouse of a voice she has now. Truly AMAZING. Now I am listening to all that I missed since 1957. She sang beautifully then too, but she absolutely transcends phenomenal now.

Gary stoped it because the key was to slow.

you mean the tempo was too slow? or the key was too low? I think it was barlows fault, he plays the piano differently on the ssecond take.

The orchestra was not playing in time to Shirley's singing at first. So Gary stopped them and Shirley started over like the pro she is. An amazing performance of a fantastic new song!

Gary took the tempo from the conductor via the drummer but Shirley fell behind the beat. That's why it was restarted.
