  • i dont care what anyone says, bluegrass is sexy

  • Dosent matter jim mills is the man

  • The guitar player is John Bowman that's now playing fiddle and banjo for the Boxcars

  • This is a Henderson I am pretty sure.

  • I recognize a lot of Scruggs in this guy's playing. Very nice! :D

  • finally realized why this tune stuck with me.....he's playing the clinch mountain backstep.

  • @csabygod he plays clinch mountain and at the end he plays down the road

  • @csabygod

Break 1 - Tennessee Banjo Man

Break 2 - Clinch Mountain Backstep

    Break 3 - Sourwood Mountain

Break 4 (end) - Down the Road

  • Jim Mills is my favorite banjo picker and a really nice guy.

  • what brand of guitar is the guitar player playing?

  • I'm not too sure on this video but on another one I have he's playing a Martin and it looks similar

  • @pappyjoe It's a Wayne Henderson Guitar

  • @pappyjoe that guitar is a wayne taylor model i believe...

  • @dlivers9704 Henderson guitar built in virgina

  • @dlivers9704 he's playing a handmade guitar made by wayne henderson.

  • @dlivers9704 Hes playing a Wayne Henderson !8 model. modeled after a matrin d-18. Some of the best guitars built today.

  • @dlivers9704 Hes playing a Wayne Henderson 18 model guitar. Those things are monsters

  • @dlivers9704 its not a martin. it looks like something handbuilt.

  • @dlivers9704

    The guitar is a Henderson

  • @dlivers9704....It's not a martin most defiantly...I can tell you that just by looking at the color, pick guard..most importantly and obvious the headstock..Has a headstock sorta like a taylor..Not sure what it is.

  • @dlivers9704 No doubt a Martin best sounding Flat top made END of sentence Sorry Taylor owners close but no cigar:)

  • @packingten check out collings and bourgeois and merrill. for a new guitar they put new martins to shame. old martins still take it most of the time.

  • @dlivers9704 Its a Wayne Henderson guitar

  • @dlivers9704 its a henderson

  • @dlivers9704 It looks like a Mossman guitar to me.

  • @dlivers9704 Thats a guitar built by luthier Wayne Henderson (Henderson guitars). Kindof a D-18 style guitar

  • @dlivers9704 its a custom guitar i forgot the guy who makes them, it definetly is not a martin though

  • @dlivers9704 I believe that's a Henderson

  • what year is this

  • @TheDuster88 It was recorded at Doyle Lawson's 30th anniversary in 2005

  • from what I can tell the banjo solos in this tune all come from traditional bluegrass tunes... I hear Clinch mtn backstep and i also hear down the road at the end... can anyone tell me what song the break played at about the two minute mark comes from?

  • Sourwood Mountain.

  • That was probably one of my favorite band configs Doyle ever had. John R. Bowman's voice is golden!

  • nice "clinch" application!!!!!

  • I watched Earl on black & white tv in the 50's and he is and always will be the best in my mind, but son you are one hell of a picker! That is one of the best sounding banjos I've ever heard!!! BanjoFlyBoy

  • I never compare two players as to who is better ...both Earl and Jim are very talented and play somewhat different styles

  • @TheBanjoFlyBoy Huber makes a great banjo!
