how long was your mammoth sunflower growing before the head sprouted on it?? ive been growing mine for about 2 months or so and so far its tall but with thick stalks and leaves on them. They are as tall as maybe up to my waste and im about 5'6
I don't recall, actually. It has only been two years since I grew it, and I've grown many other sunflowers (though most were not Russian Mammoths). I don't recall really having to wait that long, though. But maybe your Sunflower will sprout its head soon. If not, maybe it does take longer. I hope so. Wish I could be more help!
hi, @skyaglow. Thanks for your question, and sorry for my delay. I really just follow pretty simple organic methods, like using good compost.
I initially had some problems with droves of a locust-like grasshopper. Rather than using poisions, I secured some cardboard around the entire base of the wire that surrounds the sunflower and put tangle-trap paste on it. This eliminated the problem completely!
