Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa selects Charlie Beck to be next chief of the LAPD

I hate the way Beck choked up when he thanked his family. There was a well-known clip years ago of General Schwarzkop saying "I'd like to thank the families" and choking up. It's embarrassing. And you'd never see Parker or Davis Gates show any emotion.

Beck is a big-gun control advocate as well.

Community policing is a joke; all the "progressive" baby-boomer police chiefs buy into it. These boomers make me want to puke.

This department is nothing like the LAPD of the 50s/60s.
