  • Amazing voice! She certainly proves a soprano doesn't have to have a large body to project a really powerful voice.

  • Petibon<3

  • I came across PP from viewing other modern sopranos on YT. First heard, Lascia-perfection. Heard her do Mozart-adventurous.Checkedout the Christie work, the Baroque, the pieces with Susan M...went out & bought the CDs.Cant get enough of her.Expression, sense of joy and spirit of voice. If somebody forms a Patty Petibon fan club, I will be first on the list to join!!,John from australia

  • Drole de technique!!!

  • @sandrovally :thanks for mentioning Schiavo, another soprano who is doing great work&another girl who doesnt get enough recognition! Wil view and listen to her on Youtube.Checked her out on Wikipedia; Looks like she is carving out a career and has good taste with her chosen performances. All the best, john

  • She must be the most underrated of sopranos on the planet at this time.I find some sopranos overpowering(dont have to mention names, you know who they are). With Patricia, you are invited into the singing procedure, not being sung at.Love watching her perform with Susan manoff on the Piano.A great combination of accompaniment and voice, precisely tuned:A pure sense of joy in the creation of the work comes through.

  • @SuperJohnnykay

I agree Patricia work with Susan Manoof (a great pianist) is really good and pure joy for audience.

  • she's the best ever ever, my idol

    thanks for sharing that talent

    BRAVA

  • Not just that her voice is wonderful - you wouldn't believe that she is around 40!! She looks like twenty - something :-)

Merveilleux! Petibon est Pocahontas français! Très excellent!

  • little flat at the end there

  • SEXY!!!!

  • @Sesquiltera I know! I think the feathered headdress suits her. If Patricia Petibon ever goes on a date with me, I'll ask her to wear it.

  • Stop dreaming :P

  • i love her.

  • shes amazing!!!!

  • Rainha Patrícia, belíssima voz!!! Reinai sobre teus admiradores!!!

  • Jo també t'estimo, Patricia... Ets espectacular!!!

Com la interpretació de Les Arts Florissants de W. Christie!

  • Love you, Patricia!!! Love you!!!

  • Exaltant!

  • I'm soooo in love! Oh, Patricia! I can swollow you whole!!!

Anyone know if she's coming to NYC????

    PLease!!

  • Regne Rameau! Regne Petibon! Et regne Christie!

  • What a great voice! Glad to have discovered this clip! And I just love the production - übercamp!

  • Wow !

  • Note to LA Phil.....it is OK to sometimes do a Baroque Opera every once in a while

  • Totally fantastic and incredible!!

  • haha i cant believe im 21 and i like this type of music/ singing...loves it!!!

  • haha ... you're not the only one

  • Good for you! I'm 60 but I've loved opera since I was 22' What a voice this gal has!

  • whats up? I am only 15 :)) and I really love it

  • She is the ultimate voice for the French Baroque, along with Gens and Delunsch. Full of charm, color, and elan but not too agile enough for Italian/Handelian vocal virtuosity like Piau, who's Faustina incarnate.

  • Yeah but the most of the italian baroque repertoire was written for castrati(male and female roles) and right now there is no singer capable to do all the vocal fieworks that the castrati used to do

  • What a music!!!! How much beauty!!! I'm just proud of human race when i hear this.

  • absolutely powerful, amazing!

  • this has got to be one of my favorite arias, and patricia petibon is one of my favorite singers!!!!

i have to say, that even though the production is probably "eurotrash" it still looks like it would be a lot of fun!! (some other eurotrash on the other hand...)

    =)

  • this is so beautiful

  • spendide

  • Les Indes Galantes is my favorite opera that Patricia Petibon is in.

  • Newer liked this kind of music much but this Opera is just perfect in every way. It's like a Peter Greenaway movie, lots and lots of odd things going on everywhere and this Patricia Petibon is like someone said rock'n roll.

Great! Is it still on? And where?

  • This is wierd beyond belief, but spectacular! When was it written? 1780s?

  • 1730's, I knew the music sounded a bit baroque, but I was thinking of how starnge the French aristocracy was in the 1780's, really they were a bit looped through the whole century though

  • Petibon rocks!!!!!!

  • Bravo!!

  • yes, she is

  • @bejun Que bom...

  • Great Performance!!! QUESTION...is that Danielle de Niese in the gold holding the ring?

  • Yep - she plays Hebe.

  • This is perfect..if I close my eyes

  • I think Petibon is phenomal here -- fearless singing with real FRISON. Brava

  • Un role qui lui va a merveille ! Et vive les Arts Flo!!

  • I am blown away, delighted and addicted to Patricia P.

I am a rock musician that started to get into classical ... and went crazy over Opera! I can not get enough!

Thanks for posting this you tube, it brings me great joy

  • Today I see on tv the entyre version. I enjoy it very much. Music seems fresh and new with this amazing "mise en scène" . I¨m glad to have the opportunity to see some parts again.

  • wow! that was awsome. Thanks! I've been looking for some french baroque rep.

  • Not her. I meant the one with the big flag dying. It can't be, ils vont quand meme pas faire mourir l'amour (je suppose que you speak French)

  • WOW! That's a nice powerful happy aria. Five stars. Just one question though... I got that the archer was Love, but who's evil drag queen?

  • Bellone, Goddess of War.
