Aramaic is not dead. Many traditionally educated Jews in Israel, America, and many other countries know Aramaic. We consider it our language, too. I looked up the holy books of the Assyrian Church and the ancient Aramaic of the church is identical to the Jewish Aramaic in our Targum Onkelos, the translation of the bible into Aramaic that Jews use. Aramaic will never die. Our Kaddish prayer, said daily in synagogues, is in Aramaic. The Passover seder has many Aramaic songs and prayers. God bless
@69mikage aramaic isnt a dead language its still spoken by 3 groups in the middle east and used in a lot of orthodox church services... language evolves over time naturally... olde english is nearly dead also in that regard. Dont believe me? Read anything by shakespeare and tell me you fully understand it all. LOL.
The heart of Language is not the syllables spoken, but the content behind the words, its a matter of Heart, not Lips. <3
Prof. William J. Fulco: "Preserve the Aramaic language and traditions at all cost! DO not let the splendid Aramaic become endangered. It is wonderful language that links us back to Jesus and centuries of Christian history. To lose that connection would be a tragedy."
@69Mikage its not a dead language many iraqi catholic spoke it everyday and night with their family just like i speak it with my mom and dad and brothers
