  • LAME!! this one is way better youtube.com/watch?v=6R1hgShD1IY..

  • Slow destruction...

  • a black kid on Alderaan...cool

  • the death star destroys a planet instantly like that *snaps* if you see the original the death star shoots alderaan goes boom right when the laser reaches it.

  • I love how, if I had never seen any of these movies, I would've thought that they really were one whole thing xD

  • meh the original is much more extreme

  • Yeah, that would have been WAY MORE impactful - way to screw it up Lucas!

  • you used terminator judgement day scenes cool!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that just totally sucked

  • Alderaan was more beautiful u.u xD

  • Actually the death star destroyed planets by "putting" them in hyperspace .. at least one part of the mass and only like starting a jump, the ginormous disruption made the rest and basically desintrgrated the planet instantly

  • @sparrowlt

what? the death star destroyed planets through sheer power output, it only drew energy from hyperspace

  • whats the soundtrack? i think i know this song. oh...

  • Good word. Add a sound track.

  • where is the sound?

  • KABOOOOM! Alderaan chunks everywhere!

  • ....I really did not want to see a teacher and child be burned by a super shot. I guess I shouldn't have watched this... :( lol

  • I like the part where there's no sound.

  • shame theres no audio but good idea all the same

  • Why didn't you insert the clip of the people pointing at the sky all at once from SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW?

  • The best use for Terminators are the HK-50s with chrome plating and red eyes.

  • ...What.

  • The death star is more powerful than any damn hydrogen bomb.

  • No, Alderaan blew up instantly. There couldn't have been an explosion on the surface.

  • You should have added the scene of Planet Krypton exploding from Superman the movie!

  • SERIOSLY!????? kids on a playground? u are a disgrace to starwars

  • pretty cool scene if you can decontextualize it.

  • Poor Jimmy Smits...

  • i'm sorry, no.

  • That scene from terminater is so disturbing

  • @XT52

Yeah because in the actual Alderaan scene it is a well known fact that, on Alderaan there are only adult males (lea is the only female and wasn't there at the moment) and no children, woman, or cute animals at all.

All those adults where asleep, and when obi-wan-kenobbi said "a millions of voices cried out in terror" he was kidding.

    * end of sarcasm *

  • That scene from terminator was very disturbing. Actually, the nuke would be more frightening than a death star superlaser shot. The superlaser is so powerful that nobody on the planet would even know that they are about to die. They just get vaporized the moment it hits. Unless they see the death star in orbit...

  • you forgot the part where arnold comes in front of the screen and shouting " JOHN CONNOR, NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" and he says " I'M TERMINATED!" and self destructs!

  • New reason never to go on YouTube late at night on ur itouch.... Wish me luck on sleeping tonight.

  • awesome..too bad no sound

  • Dont maches with Star Wars in any way!

  • I really like the idea of the death star destroying the planet in a longer drawn out scene... Really showing it crack and fall apart like Despayre was described would have been a bit more gut-wrenchingly evil than BOOMnomoreplanet... Might have given it a better sense of scale, too.

  • @BugBear6000 If you read the Death Star novel, the reason they destroyed Despayre in such a manner is because the Death Star's reactor wasn't yet up to full throttle, it could only generate 30% power shots.

It would not have been a very good demonstration of the Death Star's power if they had to destroy Alderaan with half a dozen shots.

  • @Xytan4 I know about the reactor core not being full power... What I was saying was that it would have been more impressive if it was still one shot, just a longer more detailed explosion... somewhere between 5 - 30 seconds of surface cracking with light/lava from the core bursting out until it climaxes in the full space explosion.

  • atleast audio swap some music!▐▐▐

  • it's alright

  • terminator music should fit nicely also

  • I'm not sure what your point is but this is'nt very immpressive.

  • 0:21 Ow.

  • How is this a good video, you just mixed clips of a New Hope and Terminator 2. Nothing special

  • Wow, Aldaraan has California Mass Transit.

  • @PoPoNellie HAD California Mass Transit ;)

  • REALLY GOOD movie there ^^

  • Cool vid. the thing i like about the original is how efficient and quick the death star snuffs out alderaan. it doesn't take hardly a second before the world is reduced to rubble. Many many movies destroy planets (titan a.e., star trek, HGG), and indeed many star wars ships can render a planet lifeless, but it's the terrible finality of alderaan's destruction that takes the cake. in their world, it creates what is known as a wound in the force.

  • the star wars expanded universe has the planet of despayre

it took three shots from the (under construction) death star to destroy it

the first one ignited the atmosphere

the second one cracked the crust

the third one finished the planet off

  • So...Vader made Skynet?

  • @dancinginfernal I KNEW it

  • This is much more realistic for what Obi-wan felt. The original explosion was like the power going out at night. You're enveloped in complete darkness without warning. There is no time for react or scream. Obi-wan heard screams which is impossible under the original time scale.

  • thats a kill

  • i like starwars, and this episode

  • The destruction of Krypton from "Superman Returns" would have been better -- the planet is blown into bits pretty much instantly.

The people of Alderaan didn't have time to turn around, watch mushroom clouds, see trucks get tossed around the streets -- the whole planet was blasted to bits within a second or so.

  • What are we worrying about-we won't feel a thing.

  • Great vid!! To bad there wasn't any sound/music though!

  • Earth needs the Death Star to fire on it so it can finally be put out of its misuries.

  • LOL.

  • Alderan sounds, and even looks, like a type of cheese if you take the sci-fi second A away..

  • Wow, I love all the Star Wars accuracy sticklers.

  • cool one u made. But alderaan would blow up in one moment

  • To be honnest this wouldn't work this way. First of all: We're talking lasers not nukes. The laser is of a huge magnitude that it burns through the planet in no time. They wouldn't even feel the destruction. In one moment they live the next they're dead.

And what's up with mixing Terminator 2 with Star Wars? Not a healthy combination if you ask me.

It is a nice video well done. But I don't like it.

  • no, they would just see a flash of green light as the laser beam hits the planet and into the core, and then explodes.

  • this version looks better, could use some sound though

  • point well made. . . from a male perspective you can get really into this culture. women against military madness (WAMM) would love this clip. needs some sound though.

  • this is horrible.

  • Cheapskate

  • If he could mix in the Genesis Wave effect from "The Wrath of Khan", it'd be even better.

  • Where's the millions of voices crying out in terror? Terror-crying first, then silence; Not silence through the whole thing.

  • Does anyone know if there is a video on Youtube of the ORIGINAL destruction of Alderaan?

  • search for star wars episode 4

  • Oh Yea I forgot to say this but...

Technically this was played in slowmotion cause alderan blew up and half a second.

  • you beat my comment by 2 weeks. Now I have no purpose in this world for commenting on vdeos like this

  • Whoa awsome

  • Remids me of Hiroshima blowing up

  • Death Star does not like children.

  • Ok, what movies did you get these scenes from? Star Wars, Terminator 2... what are the other ones?

  • Star Wars (of course), Terminator 2, and Star Trek Generations.

  • Really like how you made it work but get some audio on there and it'll be perfect.

  • Death Star from Star Wars IV,nuclear scene from Terminator 2 and Planet going into another planet scene from Star Trek Generations.

  • i know that scene is from terminator 2: judgement day, while the death star is in star wars 4, but good edit though, i really liked it

  • this is cool, but there's no audio

  • impressive

  • pretty cool, how you took clips of like 4 movies and putem' together. not bad :)

  • Sound would've been nice.

  • very very good

you've got scenes from a few films there

star trek generations when the you see trhe planet blow up, terminator obviously and star wars. Five stars defo

  • hahaha while modern-times kids are frolicking in playfields, evil nazi-looking star commanders in spaceships are planning to destroy the planet

  • I really hate from the bottom of my heart, no offense

  • huh? Alderann didn`t appear in Sith lords

  • haha that was pretty good and oddly funny...and we kow alderaan didnt look like that WOW!!!

  • where is the sound?

  • are you lamer?

  • how bout that sound . . .

  • I must say it.

    Ownd.

    Hard.

  • star trek-terminator 2-star wars :D

  • that could of happened there.

  • is there sound?

  • "Millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror... and then suddenly silenced." - Obi Wan Kenobi

Nicely done. Seems to be a much slower version of the destruction. The 'real' explosion was so fast that it would probably turn everything to plasma in a microsecond (consider the vast speeds of the emerging particles in the original explosion).

This version seems to work better with Obi Wan's feeling, since the victims of Alderan would have been killed instantly in the original.

  • wow, could you upload just the Terminator 2 Dream sequence? (when LA gets nuked)

  • superb idea

  • None of it really fits together...

  • omg... thats kind of depressing when they put it all together like that.

  • LMFAO i found tht very entertaining :D

  • the terminator 2 nuclear explosion scene was very accurate.

  • Yea, seems like special effects were perfected in the 90's and have been going backwards since. T3s effects werer terrible.

  • I hope your kidding.

  • The poor childern!

  • The children were actually life-sized clay models with hidden explosive charges. Thank Discovery Channel's old "Movie Magic" series for that bit of trivia.

  • fucking freaking awesome!
