@TridentAxe Have you ever seen an indian wrestler at the olympics?! Their legs are monstrous and hard because of this exercises (with variants, mind you).
I think an important note too would that you should should NOT drop till you bounce off your knee joints. I have done these for many years as a staple endurance exercise and I learned that dropping till you bounce will hurt your knees badly. Lower smoothy till you hit about 80-90% of your total way down on your toes then smoothly come back up till flat feet. Breath out bown, breath in up. This guy did look too stiff but smooth relaxed motion and good form/balance is the key.
@shkotay Do em in sets you can handle at your pace. After a while it gets easier as your legs can take more. Now I do about 1000 in about 34 minutes. Up to 100 they help with strength, past that it strength endurance.
@yepyepanathefox Yep, you can do it feet flat, or like i do on my toes to flat, to toes, but back has to be straight. Smooth motion down, smooth motion up and about a 90% drop down then move back up. It doesnt target the hams much but your feet, calves, quads, glutes and back get a nice workout. I had to recorrect my form when I started doing high numbers and sort of looking like this guy in the vid did :D Believe me it will burn your legs good. Dont bounce on the drop. Good luck!
@sunbroker you breathe out as you "brush the floor" breath in as you bring the hands to the chest, there are many variations of this and the breathing is the same for all the different postured "squats." For weightlifting it is the opposite because you are pushing the weight. In this you are "pushing" as you go down...there happens to be a martial application for this exercise as well, btw.
@Motownbrother - I'm no expert, but I was taught that with Hindu squats you roll up towards your toes unlike with most other squats. I could be wrong but that's how I was taught and how I always have done them.
Your knees are crackling.

@GALAHINA Calorie deficits burn fat. Any exercise will use up calories but you will still need to to have a calorie deficit.

@GALAHINA yes. good cardio exercises increase your metabolism substantially. that's why runners and cyclers have very low body fat.

@shkotay So this exercise works out the whole entire leg? I can feel it mostly in my quads, but will it work out my hamstrings as well?
