This effect is great if it is used correctly and SPARINGLY not on EVERY SINGLE SHITTY PICTURE YOU TAKE with that brand new 500 dollar camera your parents bought you for your 16th birthday but all your using it for is taking shitty over exposed pictures of you duck facing in the mirror and uploading it to facebook

that being said most hipsters don't have access to the knowledge of getting Photoshop (or they buy it LOL ) so they just use a beige or monochrome filter
