  • im sure if the rifle had a choice, it would want to be refurbished and see action again, not,sit in somebodies gun cabinet with a sewer pipe bore, never to be fired again. sometimes, its the right thing to do.

  • Remoding 98 Mausers is a dieing industry. Why pay a gunsmith to do that to a military action when you can buy a new Rem. 700 or Savage 110 for 300 bucks. The thumb cut-out on the left receiver wall for shoving stripper clipped ammo is an inherent weakness with military actions especially with todays high pressure cartridges. There is reason to believe there is unnecessary torquing in this area causing micro stress cracking found in a lot of remodeled receivers.

  • it looked like a rifle before you "improved" it

  • OUCH. that really hurt. Hate to see classics getting destroyed. yes..destroyed.

  • @98kmauser I agree . Very sad .

  • To be fair, that rifle isn't exactly a presentation-grade Mauser. Some "sporterized" Mausers are truly beautiful rifles.

  • no it is starting to look like shit because you destroyed a peice of history!!

  • @1995marines at least it didnt sit somewhere and rust out completely and never get used.

  • iNteresting video. However, I find the video a bit jumpy before I make sense of what is being done.If it is not asking too much, could you please do a bit more detailed video on what is done in blue printing a rifle action? Many thanks.

  • That's M24

Yugoslavian copy mauser, but it's a good gun

  • Wouldn't it be better to buy a New Kar 98k than to destroy a classic one?

  • you butchered that thing

  • wow your basicly destroying a classic rifle

  • That's the exact rifle i have, or it at least looks a whole lot like it.

  • That's the exact rifle i have, or it at least looks a whole lot like it.

  • I much prefer the origanal

  • What is the gray rifle on the wall behind him?

  • I don't care about the money..........i wanna be gunsmith bcuz i'm deeply passionate about firearms !!!!!

  • 1/5 for modifying a military mauser :(

  • Good work, and it is a nice rifle! But i don't like when people "destroying" a Mauser like this......

  • @laksemann very true, leave the mauser the way it is and buy another rifle

I prefer the look of the darkened, beat up one

  • its hard finding a good gunsmith. Even the easiest things seem almost impossible to get done right. Like drilling and tapping for a scope mount. Its never perfectly straight with the barrel. They insist to line up with the action.

  • bahhh i have the same mauser

  • Do you re-manufacture by forge or CNC any antique gun part?

Or is replacement quite easily obtainable?

  • Actually you have to build up a clientele..This comes from the work you do,.There are so many problems ..but most are cleanings and boressighting the scope.and mounting..

  • Did he destroyed that WW 1 mauser, in the name of "sporterizing" ???

  • nice mauser

  • Is it real easy to find a job in gunsmithing? How well does it pay, not that i would really care since gunsmithing is a kickass job, just curious.
