I preferred Quake 1's style to 2, so it's a little disappointing to me that the series seems to consider 2 as the 'real' Quake. They should mix them, like Quake 3, more fantasy and weird monsters, not just endless aesthetically dull cyborgs. They all look the same, and that same isn't that great. Where are the knights, ogres, hunters, etc? I know it was a bit goofy when you think about it, but I loved the atmosphere, the castles and ruins.

I'd like to see a Quake game that is a sequel to the original Quake. Quake 2 is a completely different game, and we never got a true sequel to the original Quake which I consider to be far superior to Quake 2.

Doom Engine on Quake 4 kills all new games......I played new games like Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Left For Dead 2 this game is so much more fun sell your console and water cool your pc.

this game was one of the biggest dissapointments ive ever sepnt 5 bucks on. when i picked this up i was exspecting something like quake 1 or 2. i dont understand why they got rid of all the demonic things that made quake 1 amazing. but this is just as if halo and call of duty had a deformed baby. i couldnt even get into half of the game before i was bored of it. if you are a true quake fan like i am u were dissaponted of this. they just made a half assed game and slaped quake on the cover. 4/10

i really liked this game and i still do. The graphics were simply amazing in 2005. I remember the character faces were so freaking uber ultra HD modeled, i had no competitors. It really really looked great! great story too!! this game has a special place in my heart..along with other great titles :D

Quake 4 is unnecessarily dark. its too dark everywhere. too dark inside, too dark outside. Thats why I hated it. Compare it to other games with dark settings like FEAR or Bioshock where places that are supposed to bee dark ARE dark and places where its bright ARE indeed bright. Sorry Q4 fans, thats my opinion.

I'd say this game is so-so. The graphics are great, but I found that the gameplay was kind of repetitive. By that I mean that (this is just the the way I saw it) the encounters don't have very much variety. I just don't see much replay value in it. I've played both the Xbox 360 and PC version. I much prefer the PC version because you can use more cheats in it. i like to make an army of Marines battle 3 Makrons.
