The thing is they don't show males get chucked into the grinder, or what happens to the chicks that get stuck in the machinery and get seriously injured then are left to die of their injuries, or how their beaks get cut off, or the ends of their toes getting cut off with scissors. They hardly show anything of the real process, probably because it's too gruesome and would make the companies look bad. They never show how they really treat the animals in meat production. I have 3 chickens as pets at home!

We keep them in a coop and everything, and they just started laying eggs recently.

If you're interested in getting one, I can give you sites about chicken care, but they're very easy to take care of, very loving and cute, but they poop a lot (especially as babies, not so much as adults). :) very hard not to get attached to.

Yup... the innocent animals' are abused right after--no, even BEFORE their birth. Then they're shipped away where they are crammed into tiny rooms, injected with antibiotics, become crippled and deformed or beaten to death for growing to slow.  Then as their bones are shattered under the weight of their scared friends they are shipped to the slaughter house to have their throats slit so they can roast alive and get wiped in their own blood.

I would do anything to have a pet chick. When I was little, I wanted a chick so much that I would tell my mom to buy eggs, and take an egg and put it near the heater and wait, until my mom said that it doesn't work, because it's already dead, or not fertilized...
