  • @trainpeeps the fastest freights on the American continent are handled by the American continent's oldest railroad,

    Union Pacific!

which was once America's largest passenger carrier but in the 60's they got smart and sold some of their train names to CNW and MILW RD.

  • @Amtrak1194 pretty ironic isn't it

  • lol cool man thanks

  • Not bad, especially for U.P. Don't like their management, but love their locos. Especially the SD70ACEs. The horn on that one needed to go, but it was a nice train! Good video. Where was this at, by the way?

  • cool

  • Its in Maricopa,AZ ONE OF THE BEST RAILFANNING PLACES IN THE WEST

  • Yeah. Their management is so bad that they were only the most profitable railroad in North America last year.

  • Oh what a tough come back. You're just mad because I made fun of your precious Useless Pacific. How I dial whine-1-1 and call out the whambulance!

  • It is a damn good comeback. They are number 1 in profitability.

Your whining is pathitic and not backed up by facts.

You can use your juvinile UP drools all day long. But at the end of the day...UP was the most profitable railroad in North America in 2008.

There's no whining here Mr. second guessing railfan. Just simple fact.

    Number 1 in North America.

  • No moron, no. It wasn't a good come back. If you want, maybe I can teach you some. I dought you're willing to learn though. I drool over U.P. huh? You're the one who has a hardon for them. Number 1 most profitable? ONCE AGAIN, THE DAY THEY BECOME THE MOST PROFITABLE WILL BE THE DAY THAT MONKEYS FLY OUT OF MY ASS!! THEY'RE NO.1 AT DERAILMENTS THOUGH! OH WAIT! I BETTER NOT SAY THAT! YOU'LL GET ALL BUTT HURT OVER IT!

  • Well kid...check your ass for monkeys.

In 2008 UP was the most profitable railroad in North America. You only need to check WSJ or any other business publication to determine that.

    I don't take it personally. I don't key all caps like a child. I don't drool. I don't have a hard on. It's business. Pure and simple.

    I state facts.

The facts are that they are the most profitable railroad in NA in 2008.

Now. You go back to school. Read your facts. And learn something.

  • I checked my ass. No monkeys. I did learn something. Know what that is? U.P. IS A JOKE! There. I didn't have to go to school, or WSJ or any business publication to figure that out. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. I see things through my own eyes. Unlike some other people who have trouble doing so. Oh, and trust me, I'm not a kid.

  • OK. Que the monkeys in your ass. Here are the stats for 2008 based on audited reports published in Forbes:

    #1: UP 1,855 billion

    #2: BNSF 1,829 billion

    #3: NS 1,464 billion

    #4 CSXT 1,336 billion

What's that flap flap sound? Flying monkees?

My feelings aren't 'hurt' here. I am just pointing out facts to an poorly edjucated, uninformed railfan who makes all railfans look bad.

Accept FACTS kid. UP was #1 in 2008

  • What's interesting Charlie is that if you dig the UP had a pretty decent 2008 considering the nationwide drop in carloadings. BNSF actually dropped in profitability last year while UP had a big increase. Also interesting as both are western roads.

So BNSF kid...it's hard to hear your childish "UP DROOLS" with all the flapping of monkeys coming out of your ass.

Don't worry though. There is hope you will mature yet!

  • How old are you? 14?

    Seriously.

Your writing style is indicative of a child.

Useless Pacific? I mean, adults just do not write like that.

Give us some facts. Point to where UP's management is worse that other roads. How do your ate their management bad if they are the most profitable railroad in North America?

High on profits. High on safety. Massive tonnage hauled.

When you grow up and become an adult you'll understand how adults rate businesses..

  • So there's your facts, dilldoe. And how would you know what a child acts like? Oh, because you are one. And yes! I have heard adults call them Useless Pacific. I've even heard THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES say stuff even worse than that. So consider what I call them as a major compliment. High on safety, profits, and massive tonnage? It will be a cold day in Hell when your beloved U.P. figures that out.

  • Must be a cold day in Hell then kid.

The stats I refer to are not mine. They are audited financial statements of all North American railroads..

Much to your dismay, UP was the most profitable railroad in North America in 2008.

UP is not 'beloved' to me. I'm not emotionally involved like you are.

I'm just pointing out that audited financials render your arguments moot.

You can use your childish whines all day long. But

  • You're not emotionally involved with U.P.? You sure are standing up for them like you are. Most profitable railroad, huh? They can't even afford to paint their locomotives. Every time I turn around they're laying people off or something. And don't you dare blame that on the economy! They've been doing that ever since they bought out these other mega-railroads, which was the most retarded thing that I've ever seen ANY company do. So stop sticking up for U.P. It's not doing you any good at all!

  • I stand up for anyone under attack by emotional juvinile individuals spreading bullshit rumors.

All railroads have been through layoffs. All of them. It's business.

If they choose to spend money on something non-cosmetic such as paint, that is also a business decision.

I would rather have shitty looking power that runs than pretty ones that don't. Their in service stats are very high.

And yes. Most profitable. Read the business periodicals kid. Number 1 in North America.

  • To make a good example, some of the heritage units, such as U.P. 1996, are starting to act like they're going to explode. And that's REALLY BAD when heritage units are doing that.

  • So, you ignore the arguments that point out how clueless you are.

Now in your expertise you point out that units are "starting to act like they're going to explode". This is from the same idiot who thinks "jagged" rail causes flat spots.

I'm curious. The loco shop here reports to me. How does a loco "act" like it's going to explode? And, btw, UP has the best in service ratio in N/A for Class I roads

  • I'm curious too. I'm curious to see why you think U.P. is just so picture perfect. And bad tracks can cause flat spots. They do it by constantly slamming up against the wheels. Flat spots are also caused by rough handling, God help me for argeeing with you somewhat. Get it through your thick scull. U.P. can't even maintain a simple grade crossing signal let alone tracks and equipment. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that U.P.'s upper management is a total clusterfuck.

  • Show me one post I said they were perfect. I never said that. I pointed out over and over again that their management can't be that bad if they were the most profitable railroad in North America in 2008. Get that through your thick skull.

Flat spots are caused by sliding wheels due to improper braking. Period. Track conditions have nothing to do with it.

  • You two at it again? LOL.

Hey manifest....flat spots are caused by improper braking. Period. OK?

And as it has been pointed out to you, UP is the most profitable railroad in North America. Their management is doing something right.

C'mon kid. Speaking of thick skulls. What part of the most profitable RR in NA do you not get? LOL.

When you graduate from HS (if that happens" you might be able to see beyond a defective crossing and see where this railroad stands in the industry

  • See. This response is why I am convinced you are 14 or so.

"Dial whine-1-1 and call out the whambulance"

Adults just do not talk or write this way. It's sad.

    Seriously man.

How can their management be bad if they were number 1 in revenue and number 1 in profits in 2008?

  • Convinced that I am 14, huh? It sounds to me like your just jealous because you can't think of a good come back. And you say, "I would much rather I'd have shitty looking power than nicely painted ones." Sounds like you don't like the idea of your favorite railroad taking in pride in what they do. Think about it. Nicely painted units tell everyone that the company takes pride in its equipment, employees, and so on. Almost every U.P. unit I've seen doesn't even run right much less look cool.

  • Never said UP was my favorite railroad.

What I did say was that as management I would spend money on making things move over cosmetics.

UP's motive power moved more ton miles per unit than any railroad in North America.

    Yes. I'm convinced you're 14 or younger.

  • Oh, and let me add another note as to how juvinile you are.

    "Favorite Railroad"

WTF are you talking about. Seriously. You must be 14 or so. Favorite railraod?

Have you ever worked a day in your life or been in business?

I've pointed out industry publications that show UP is the most profitable, which in turn implies management knows what they're doing.

But you're hung up on "UP drools" and "Favorite Railroad".

Adults just do not talk like that.

  • Hey Bnsfmanifest. Latest breaking news: The national chemical shipper's associated rated UP as number 1 in on-time delivery in the first quarter 2009.

    Wow. Maybe 'new' management. Huh?

Number 1 in profits in 2008. Number 1 in revenue ton miles. Now number 1 in on-time delivery.

(Meanwhile you're poor BNSF just lost an STB case for price gouging. Largest loss in railroad history! Wow. What happened/) To be honest, I don't agree with this decision.

  • you like AHHHH (girly scream) SD70ace LOL LOVE THIS VID 5 STARS
