if they both have windows. take the downstairs for the conviences of getting in and out. but if only the upstairs has windows then deff take that one. i think sunlight is pretty essential.
Downstairs... You can come in and out of the building easily and quickly, also, you don't have to worry about having to walk/run quietly and distrub the people below you... on the ground floor you can jump about like a mad man - not that you'd wanna.
Upstairs, you'll feel more free, and you'll probably have a cool view. Also, you wont hear people above you walking around.
Having said that, personally i'd go with upstairs. You feel more free...
how far upstairs? the vivifying vibe of the earth does not extend much past the third floor. Unless the ground level is just damp crap or something. Then fly away
Upstairs, it's an everyday workout + a nice views but on the other hand if you break your foot like i did, its HELL to go up stairs,(God forbid of course) but um, idk.. I would still suggest upstairs my friend. good luck
Upstairs is probably the best for the reason that almost everyone has pointed out. It's quieter, you don't have people walking around above you. But think of this, when you see crazy police scenes in tv shows or movies where they bust into an apartment, motel room, etc. is it the top floor or ground floor? Just sayin.
upstairs! you want to be the one making all the noise and hearing the heiffers upstairs stomping around. but youll have to lug all your shit up the stairs when you move.... awwwwwe another moment!
I'd like to say upstairs considering how you wouldn't have to hear nuisant upstair neighbors and the stairway provides a good dose of daily exercise to make up for not being able to jump or run around upstairs; don't forget the breeze in the summer and you'll escape the flooding in your balcony with an upstairs. I digress.
upstairs. imagine you are just so tired after a long day and you hear some inconsiderate person stomping around and talking to everyone at all possible then you hear the traffic outside, you hear the lady walking her obnoxious dog, then you hear the crazy teens outside just hanging out. now imagine you're upstairs after a long day, and you hear nothing...but what is happening in your own apartment. you get the view but no noise. nice, huh?? :)
Upstairs .. it's quiet-er ... and having lived on the top floor of a building, in the middle, and on the ground floor (gotta love Chicago-land flats!) top floor is best!
Ground level. Think about when you have a lot of grocery bags, lugging them up the stairs. Or after a party, trying to get up those stairs. Or just after a really long day of work. It might not be a lot of stairs to the next level and you may be very athletic, but it's more convinient to be on the ground floor. Unless this apartment is in a town where robbery and murder is common... Then up-stairs, fersure.
Upstairs because no one will be able to bother you above you because you would be on the top floor. It will be harder for someone to break in. I'm not saying that you need it but it could be some exercise.
I love it! THANK U BABY JESUS LMAO - Move downstairs it's worth the extra 100 bucks it will cost you. But then again upstairs is ideal if your looking to save the dollars to make sense!
Definately UPSTAIRS. I lived on the ground level once and my apartment was burglarized during the daytime. A window was broken with a butter knife and they were able to undo the locks and climb in. So upstairs is safer.
Downstairs. I read a horror story where a plane took off the top floor of a little boys house and he turned into a ghost and took over peoples bodies.
Upstairs i guess because living downstairs pretty much sucks. One- I live in a downstairs apartment and u can hear EVERYTHING they do. Second- U will maybe have a cooler view. And Third- U won't here as much cars, people, animals as much as u do downstairs. So I guess upstairs would be great if u don't mind climbing up the stairs all day and having to carry groceries up the stairs all the time. Also it would be hard to not make a lot of noise so the people below you won't complain...good luck :)
Upstairs...u'll have bettter view, no noises from ppl above and ppl/vehicles passing by,dont have to deal much with stray animals or creatures or bad people entering ur apartment =p.... plus i think overall an upstairs apartment will hv cleaner air n surrounding.. haha ok now its ur decision! =D
Everyone says upstairs, but I think downstairs cause then your neighbors wont be complaining all the time. I swear the b*tch above me sleeps during the day and is up during the night. ........Maybe upstairs? I don't know.
Is access to outside space important to you? Do the upstairs apartments have a balcony or access to the roof or a terrace or a communal garden that you can use?
Downstairs would be nice because you can stomp around without any neighbors complaining. Upstairs would be cool if there is a nice view; plus I think it may just be safer to not have the windows on ground level.
upstairs bc if there was a killer running around, chances r that he wll be too lazy to go upstairs and kill you and ur brother, and just kill the ppl under u!! i know i need help, but i just saved ur lives!! ur welcome :P
upstairs !!! :) better view, more privacy and not that much noise (by that i mean somebody else walking upstairs or running.. ooor doing something else)
I'm moving in June and I needed a downstairs. I didn't really have a choice because my grandma can't climb stairs and I want her to be able to visit me. Also I hate carrying tons of my stuff upstairs. I always feel like I might tumble down them with my clumsiness.

I'd say upstairs because It's more private, but since summer is almost here I would consider a downstairs unit ONLY because It's more cooler during the summer :)
This next move is an intermediary step to someplace else. In one to two years more, one of you could be engaged, move to another city...anything's possible. It's a gated community and you're both guys. You're seriously safe. Think about this: Up how many floors to you want to lift that sofa, beds, and large furniture??? Consider.
If it is a top floor then I'd suggest that one. c: I'm third floor and top of my apartment complex! I love it cause I feel like it's safer than a ground level where anyone can kinda walk up to your windows and break in. </3
Hahah don't you guys always hear your upstairs neighbors being loud? It's time for you two to be the loud upstairs neighbors. :) And I'm glad you guys get to stay at your current complex since it's pretty nice and you have a pool.
The very first thing that popped into my head was,"what if, god forbid!! something bad happens in your building, like a fire?" I know the chances may not be huge but there's always that what if factor you absolutely have to consider. It would be a lot easier to evacuate the building if you were on the ground level. (maybe I'm a messed up person, and maybe I'm the only one who thinks like this?...) but I'm just saying. I really hope I'm NOT the only one who thinks of the worst possible scenarios
Downstairs. Always think about in cases of emergencies...what if there's an earthquake? Are you really going to pick the preference to live upstairs over the safety of your life?
I'd choose the downstairs apartment. I personally like jumping around and being loud. If I were upstairs, there's a high chance that I'd piss-off my downstairs neighbors.
UPSTAIRS... work them glutes! I also dont like hearing the upstairs neighbors walk and jump and play rockband all night while i'm trying to sleep, so I prefer upstairs!
I say upstairs! :) but then again, are the downstairs and upstairs apartments the same? Where I live in TEXAS, apartments here have some advantages and disadvantages to each one. But I go with upstairs :) I wish you and Angel the best and good luck Alex!!! (:
Hmm, upstairs. The privacy is better! But then again, if you drop something on the floor, the people (if occupied) underneath you will hear it, and if they're dense people (like my neighbors), they would probably complain about it. I say upstairs, though! I said "hmm" so you know I put some thought into it. :P
upstairs because at least you wont be the one to hear the people walking or fighting or bumping music o r annoying teenagers. And try to get the corner facing the back so you have privacy.
Upstairs - One, because it's considered safer. It's easier to break into a ground level apartment. Two, if you happen to be on the top level of the apartment complex, then you are less likely to get noise from your neighbors - most noise from adjoining apartments comes from above you - rarely any, if any at all, from below.
lol the end made me wanna squeeze you! i say the upper level.. as long as you have no one living above you! you won't hear footsteps... and plus the rent is cheaper the higher you live up! ;P
for one side if you live in a ground level apartment the floods will be a problem, for other side if you live in the upstairs apartment you'll probably going to have a little problem with earthquakes but... anyway i choose the upstairs one... maybe you have a good view and making excercise will be good for your heart... except that if you brake a leg you'll have a problem to go up xD
Upstairs! Its like how everyone always wants the top bunk haha
You get a nicer view and you don't have to put up with people moving around above you :) Plus there's something about getting off street level that feels more relaxing and private.
@SoarOfTheConchords if your upstairs you have to move all your crap up stairs.. but if your down then you have to hear people havin bedroom fun...up stairs...its more private..
if youre on the first floor, you can jump around and stomp all you want, but that's all the benefit i see in livin on the bottom floor. if yo ulive on the top, i feel it's safer, but it really depends on where you live.lol good luck, man : P
def ground level! u can get out in a fire first and dont have to climb up stairs. and your not above anyone so u dont have to worry about not stomping and being loud! because we all know how loud you are alex!! respond to this if you please :)
i've had to think about this myself. my boyfriend and i are choosing a top floor apartment. our decision was probably swayed by the fact that his apartment was broken into and he's currently on the ground floor (they climbed in through a window). no more of that.
upstairs! ground level has a possibility of being able to hear people walking above you, especially if they're loud people. then again upstairs you have to carry your stuff up the stairs, but then again its only going to be one time that you carry your stuff upstairs!
Well if you lived upstairs you wouldn't have to worry about people above you being loud. However, you would have to worry about not being too loud for the people who live below you. It would be easier to move on ground level. And if you are ever in a rush, stairs could possibly slow you down. Haha so I would say Ground Level.
hmmm Upstairs , so you can always have a lil' extra time to think what's the next video you'll gonna post or make ..right? that's cool...is that a Christmas light??? dont forget that stuff wherever you go...LOL;)
UPSTAIRS: Then you get better views, less likely to hear people making noise walking about (or other things) above you and if you are on the top apartment there is less change of your house being destroyed by a flood or burst pipes pouring water all over the place!
Ground level. Upstairs is mehhh, we live in California. Therefore there are earthquakes. I don't know if it means anything, but being upstairs sounds scarier. Also, if there are fires then you're closer to an exit. However, if there's a flood, you're screwed. But we all know that never happens out here.
Upstairs. You'll feel a bit more secure, as someone else mentioned having always to close their blinds downstairs. and someone suggested you move to a ground floor apartment because it's easier to move stuff in, well don't consider that...because you'll only have to move your stuff one time. (or two, if you move again) and that's not a huge deal. go for an upstairs apartment.
Any place you go to, youll be with your brother and it will still be awesome no matter what. So if you want an upstairs, moving in is going to plainly SUCK. BUT the upside to it is, you wont hear anyone on top of you for the whole time of being there. So you can live a day of suckiness moving and a whole rest of a life with quiet. Or move in easily , but hear the people above you. :) Good luck lol
ALWAYS upstairs! Top floor!!! You don't have to ever worry about people stomping on your ceiling. I've ALWAYS lived top floor and it is so much better.
@SoarOfTheConchords Aw you're a good neighbor to think of bothering the people below you. I always get nervous about being too loud, but really most people won't complain. I just know I get irratated being below someone who is noisy. Plus by being upstairs you don't have to worry as much about killers climbing in your window...or people breaking in for that matter.

It has prettier views and it's also harder for the burglars to come in LOL
And, of course, if you hate your downstairs neighbor you can always smash things on the floor (causing loud noises) as a revenge hahaha :D

i've had to think about this myself. my boyfriend and i are choosing a top floor apartment. our decision was probably swayed by the fact that his apartment was broken into and he's currently on the ground floor (they climbed in through a window). no more of that.

upstairs, u wont have big foot living above u then..and no one wants to wake up to big foot stompin around.

hmmm ground level .. a lot easier to move furniture into ..(heavy objects like couch, fridge etc..)..
I guess it all depends on how lazy you are ::P

I think Angel should just go with whatever. But I really dont see why you care. You're going to be living with me and wont need to worry about it.

Down stairs, so if you make a lot of noise there's no one underneath you to complain about it. :)

Upstairs - You don't hear creepy people having sex.
Downstairs - You get to hear people having sex!
Tough choice :P

upstairs! ground level has a possibility of being able to hear people walking above you, especially if they're loud people. then again upstairs you have to carry your stuff up the stairs, but then again its only going to be one time that you carry your stuff upstairs!

karenroxs1234 10 months ago
upstairs because then you have a chance for some hot guy to shout how much he loves you from down below... its more romantic :)
to7susano 10 months ago
Well if you lived upstairs you wouldn't have to worry about people above you being loud. However, you would have to worry about not being too loud for the people who live below you. It would be easier to move on ground level. And if you are ever in a rush, stairs could possibly slow you down. Haha so I would say Ground Level.
word501682 10 months ago
Ground level. It will make moving a lot easier. Plus you wont have to worry about bothering people below you with stomping noise or anything.

But ground level is good to. Go with your gut!

Maybe he offered you kush because of all the green that you're wearing. It has just been a week full of green references.

UPSTAIRS: Then you get better views, less likely to hear people making noise walking about (or other things) above you and if you are on the top apartment there is less change of your house being destroyed by a flood or burst pipes pouring water all over the place!

BEST THING WOULD BE UPSTAIRS FOR SURE!!
Marseebros365 10 months ago
Ground level. Upstairs is mehhh, we live in California. Therefore there are earthquakes. I don't know if it means anything, but being upstairs sounds scarier. Also, if there are fires then you're closer to an exit. However, if there's a flood, you're screwed. But we all know that never happens out here.
Anymoo 10 months ago
Zerozx11645 10 months ago
moving is better on the ground floor.

UPSTAIRS, more privacy. (possible balcony) a bit safer too
buckeyefan955 10 months ago 8
@buckeyefan955 Balcony is a definite. And we're in a gated community, so even if we have ground-level it's safe
SoarOfTheConchords 10 months ago 2
Any place you go to, youll be with your brother and it will still be awesome no matter what. So if you want an upstairs, moving in is going to plainly SUCK. BUT the upside to it is, you wont hear anyone on top of you for the whole time of being there. So you can live a day of suckiness moving and a whole rest of a life with quiet. Or move in easily , but hear the people above you. :) Good luck lol
ambamalot 10 months ago
@ambamalot Moving in isn't a problem I have Goliath, I mean, Angel to help.
SoarOfTheConchords 10 months ago
@SoarOfTheConchords Well....upstairs is the best. You wont hear anyone and also it gives in more exercise.

ALWAYS upstairs! Top floor!!! You don't have to ever worry about people stomping on your ceiling. I've ALWAYS lived top floor and it is so much better.
Mikeysmonkay 10 months ago
@Mikeysmonkay I just think about When I have people over....or my weights...
SoarOfTheConchords 10 months ago
@SoarOfTheConchords Aw you're a good neighbor to think of bothering the people below you. I always get nervous about being too loud, but really most people won't complain. I just know I get irratated being below someone who is noisy. Plus by being upstairs you don't have to worry as much about killers climbing in your window...or people breaking in for that matter.
