@spiralbrain Well, no, fish--even rainbow sharks--don't just jump out of the water to repeatedly bash themselves into things for absolutely no reason. They're also not "wave" fish, they're bottom dwellers and like caves. It's probably common for rainbow sharks to jump though because people do things like, oh I don't know, keep two of them in the same tank together (even though they're extremely territorial fish), don't have a cave for them, or don't clean their tank often enough.

It could mean something about the water isn't right. Fish will try to jump out of water that's making them uncomfortable.

@ginko07 well not really, if you read about Rainbow sharks, they are known to do this. They love surfing the waves.
