It all depends on if you believe Bugliosi. It is the version in that book, just like Sid and Nancy was based on Nancy's mother's estimation of their experience...both very true to the books, which is all they were asked to be. First thing they messed up on is this... I'm very obervant. The wine glasses. They never used wine glasses that large back in the 60's. Watch every movie, old show, you name it. They had very small glasses used for wine. The newer wine glasses were intruduced some time in the 90's. They should have kept an eye on that to make it much more realistic!!

The dogs were in the caretakers house, locked up, but much speculation as to why they did not hear anything going on 500 feet away. It is said that Manson visited the house AFTER the murders to "see what his children had done" which is why a lot of the testimony of the murderers didn't match the evidence

From what I understand, Gibby and Fry were not that happy. She had to see a psychiatrist daily because of him and other that were going on. She was trying to get the strength up to kick him to the curb.

They all spent a lot of time at Sharon's house together. And it's possible he went there more than once (Tex Watson claims manson went there the night before the murders and ran into Frykowsi). So this isn't as inaccurate as you think.

why would Abigail have to 'kiss up' to Sharon? She was the heiress to Folger coffee! Far richer than Sharon. She was like Paris Hilton, but only in this respect. She was so upset about the suffering and poverty in the ghetto it had driven her nearly to a breakdown. Abigail Folger was a really good person and her death was even more tragic than Sharon's.

The book Helter Skelter is just one big mass of inaccuracies. Vincent Bugliosi just wants to make all the Manson people look like monsters so he even attributes non-existent murders to the group, like Ron Hughes.
Manson(approx) to Bug: "If I had all the power you claim, I could say 'Brenda, go get Bugliosi' and it would happen."
That is a throwaway comment. But under Brendas pic: "Nancy Pitman aka Brenda McCann. Manson once designated her his chief assassin."
