This song is so cool. It brings back memories of Rock & Roll from Sesame Street. In 248 days, I will be turning 18 and I will probably be looking back saying "ahhh, this is priceless." Nostalgia never leaves the heart.
you know this is what Seseme Street should still be today for little kids after i accidently watched a station and had no idea that the show was on just flipping channels and i noticed that it is serious, the lessons are forced and not much fun this song is a good example of the good, carefree, fun, and innocent days of Sesame Street. I first saw this when i was in Kindergarten and it was on until when i was in secound grade.
The Girl in the Video @ 2:07 happens to be Amy Jo Johnson who plays Kimberly in Power Rangers. gosh she looked real great before she became a Ranger man.
Ahhhh, It's amazing how quick 15 1/2 years go by. In about 96 days, I will be turning 16 (June 23rd) I still remember this song from when I was about 7 1/2. So funny how these classic memories go by.
OMG, I loved this song growing up. It was an awesome Sesame Street hit. I'm almost 16 and I literally remember it from 1998 to 2002. Its an awesome hit. STEEERIKE 3, YER OUT! LOL at the Umpire. By the time I'm 23, I'll probably come back to youtube and say "Ahhhh, there's that little comment I posted at 15, good times, good times."
This was the song I was obsessed with as a kid in the early 90's. Our house still has a faint outline of the chalk "handtalk hands" I put on the front as a kid.
hahaha I love how everyone was scared by something from Sesame Street as a kid. [Im one of those kids too] It's all I see when I look up these vintage Sesame Street clips. I just found it funny.
I love this clip though. I can't believe I remember the lyrics to this song after all these years.
just got a bunch of sesame street cds from the library to make a nostalgic mix but they have a bad version of this song. With the actual characters singing. I want this version
Also I always loved the way the toddler girl in 1:02-1:04 of the video (right after the little boy waving hi from the swing) waved her hand. She's so freakin ADORABLE, first waving her hand and then blowing kisses with her hand covering her mouth, with the narrator singing "Or they can say goodbye". Incredibly cute!! I love it when little kids do that.
Toddlers are so kind, compassionate and warm, and forgiving and nonjudgmental and nonracist, unlike a lot of adults -- Preston
Has anyone noticed here that "Hand Talk" is a parody of "Willie And The Hand Jive" by the Johnny Otis Show (1958)?? At least I think so. And Willie and The Hand Jive was very similar to "Bo Diddley" by Bo Diddley (1955) and "I Want Candy" by the Strangeloves (1965). I think they are ALL the same song. They sound totally alike. Being an oldies music encylopedia with autism, I do notice. There are other parodies of songs on SS though, like "Felines" parodying "Feelings" by Morris Albert (1975).
Hey, wattamack, you killed two birds with one stone. Jokester1111 wasn't the only who wanted to see this video, I wanted to see it too!! I've been wanting to see this again for a long time! Thanks for finally putting this up!! Although it is kind of blurry (with the hands), it is interesting to see this again. Very nicely done!! :) I would love to see "I'm a little airplane NOW NOW" or "- over that sister, under that brother, round and round with you" (Over under around and through)!! -- Preston
this song has real Kenny Loggins feel to it
