  • Name of the song please?

  • that is leap up

  • looks like a frog

  • AAHGAGHGH!!! You can do sssoooooo much more with those stairs than squat hop!!! We love stairs!!!! PKTO -

  • What`s the song?

  • How long should your squat jump workouts last? I read an article that says any vertical jump workout should not last more than 15 minutes. The author says that after 15 minutes, the body will begin to pace itself and then the exericise becomes a muscle endurance exercise rather than an explosive exercise.

  • music goes with the movement.

  • amazing!

  • i cold do this after school at my old elementary school :D

  • And look retarded and not develop your athleticism at the same time.

  • @SadegoGG

It looks like what this guy is doing will only train for endurance. This stuff should be all out 5-7 reps.

    Anyways...

  • @DanPrinMan

Yeah, he may build some endurance until he completely blows out his knees. The knees and human joints have not evolved enough to withstand plyometric/shock training exercises unless one is extremely physically conditioned. Whether or not the person in this video can withstand the training has nothing to do with the people watching this video being prepared for it...and not one warning label...

Look at the statistics behind workout related injuries.

  • @SadegoGG

This is off topic, sort of, but to my knowledge evolution is about survival, and a knee injury isn't going to hinder my survival, especially now days. In terms of evolution, back when a human needed to hunt for food, a knee injury would probably hinder his survival, but now days we just buy it to survive. There is no contradiction between evolution and the existence of injury. After all, if it weren't for injury and pain, we wouldn't know the concept of "fitness".

    But back to Plyos.

  • @DanPrinMan

What are you talking about? If you like to have 'bad knees' and you like to be in pain all the time when you walk...then your in the minority. And your analysis of how I involved evolution into the human knees is completely wrong...whatever

  • @SadegoGG

I was responding to your statement "The knees and human joints have not evolved enough to withstand plyometric/shock training exercises..."

  • When you film the squat jumps from the back, you can see the left knee flexing inward during the extending movement. It's a technical flaw that you'll want to avoid during (strength)training, and certainly explosive movement like landing. Varus/valgus (sideways or turning) knee movement should be avoided at all costs. More technical or balance training with extra attention to the knees was the solution for me. Consequent sideways motion can cost you your knees, so watch out! Hope it helped!

  • lol whenever i go upstairs in my house i see how many stairs i can jump, so far two. Keep up the good vids =)

  • me too but i'm up to for since last week 7=¬)

  • Yeah, the good thing about this exercise will be that it builds muscle memory for landing, if you do it silently you'll get really good at landings as well as improving explosiveness but also stamina.

  • very true :)
